"Most NATO countries won't take part in Storm parade"

Most NATO member-states will not send their soldiers to a military parade in Zagreb that will on August 5 celebrate the 20th anniversary of Operation Storm.

I can tell you that I feel that anyone innocent who went through the horrors of war does get my sympathy no matter which side they are from
(Peggy, 17 July 2015 03:33)

Really?! Aren't you the same Peggy who advocated the slaughter of helpless 14 year old boys just because they were "guilty" of having the same ethnicity or religion of somebody who allegedly killed Serbs?!

Why are they not returning to Croatia now if they are not ethnically cleansed?
(Peggy, 16 July 2015 02:59)

Well, they are perhaps reading the comments of the most patriotic of Serbs here about the misery in the EU and how Croatia is doing much worse now as an EU member etc etc and how Serbia is much more powerful and prosperous than Croatia etc etc. It makes perfect sense for them to want to be in Serbia and not in Croatia, unless the most patriotic of Serbs are wrong!

From gotta love em: "You want to show how impotent the Croatian forces were so you claim they only were able to kill 2000 mainly elderly Serbs, but others who want to portray Serbs as the victims paint the picture of a Croatian killing machine that murdered hundreds of thousands."

This may be difficult for your small mind to comprehend, but approximately 2,000 Serbs, mostly civilians and elderly, were killed during Operation Storm. Several international organizations have verified this. That is not to be confused with the several hundreds of thousands of Serbs the Ustasha murdred during WWII. Get it genius?

More from the genius: "One day the Albanians cannot touch the powerful North Mitrovica concentration of power Serbs have and never will. Next day the Serbs are at the mercy of these savage Albanians and they are only able to survive by living in ghettos behind barbed wire."

Why is this hard for you to understand. Serbs make up the overwheming majority in N. Mitrovica. Albanians only attack unarmed civilians, the elderly, and desecrate Serb churches and cemetaries in the south where there are scattered Serb settlements surrounded by the Albanian majority.

Please educate yourself on the the subject before embarrassing yourself again by posting more uninformed comments.

Peggy you bring a good point and they had no choice the coridore was left on purpose however just the same did not happen in Kosovo where Serb forces raped and killed people leaving and took their documents at the border why you feel Serbs pain but not Albanians?

Obviously everyone has their truth and we can argue how many Serbs were raped, tortured and killed in Kosovo too but let's not get bogged down in that now.
I feel Serb pain because I am Serbian. I can tell you that I feel that anyone innocent who went through the horrors of war does get my sympathy no matter which side they are from but seeing how nobody from Croatian, Bosnian Muslim or Albanian side never expressed any sympathy towards Serbian victims I think it's only fair that we, Serbs, do that. Every other side speaks for their own and expresses anger and pain for their own so it's important that somone does the same for Serbs too.
Obviously it's not necessary for us Serbs to do it as plenty of people here do.
Now are you going to ask the other sides the same question?

They, perhaps, avoid being linked to "Storm" but linked they are weather they take part in parade or not.
"Storm" just ended it, but from open violation of UN embargo on weapons to everything else someone was with Croats.
Even from the very beginning, with first burned houses in Yugoslavia (Serb houses in Zadar and Sibenik on May 2nd, 1991) look closely and you will see American and German hands behind them handing matches and gasoline.

The one thing I love about this column is at what length Serbs will go to support their issue of the moment no matter that it defeats their issue of yesterday.
You want to show how impotent the Croatian forces were so you claim they only were able to kill 2000 mainly elderly Serbs, but others who want to portray Serbs as the victims paint the picture of a Croatian killing machine that murdered hundreds of thousands.
Similar cases in the Kosovo war. One day the posters want to paint Serbs as undefeated heros who were able to stand their ground with NATO the largest and most advanced force on the planet and they left Kosovo intact with no loss to their weaponry and were even able to bring down the famed stealth plane.
And the next day the victim issue kicks in and so the picture is painted of how NATO forces caused hundreds of billions of damage to infrastructure and the vast casualties families had to suffer at the hands of this huge superpower on poor little Serbia.

One day the Albanians cannot touch the powerful North Mitrovica concentration of power Serbs have and never will. Next day the Serbs are at the mercy of these savage Albanians and they are only able to survive by living in ghettos behind barbed wire.

The only reason why Nato aren't sending their soldiers to the parade is because of the tense situation with Russia. Of course they will not say that...so they say because of tensions in the region lol

Nato can care less what Serbia thinks :)

When it comes to the war in the former Yugoslavia. Serbs can only blame their selves for losing the war in Croatia, not NATO.

What about the 900,000 Albanians who were temporarily forced to leave Kosova to Albania and Macedonia in 1999 before NATO helped them return? Don't forget that there are hundreds of thousands of Albanians from Kosova across Europe who were forced to flee Kosova due to the oppression they were facing based on their ethnicity.
================================
How do you explain the fact that percentage wise there are more Albanians in Kosovo now than ever before and a less Serbs than ever before then? Also you say that you had to leave Kosovo because of oppression based on ethnicity. Explain why your people are still leaving Kosovo now. Who is upsetting them now?

Interesting that the celebration of biggest military victory in Croatian history won't be attended by the majority of the countries that made it possible. The Croatians, however, will no doubt have fun celebrating their victory over the approximately 2,000 Serbs they killed, primarily the elderly civilians. But then again, when you have absolutely no military history at all, you tend to celebrate anything you can. Centuries of being the stable cleaners of the Hapsburgs will do that to you.

You get the feeling from this whole fiasco that the West is finally growing tired with being associated with Croatia's fascist nostalgia syndrome. They're beginning to realise that there are some in that country, in fact too many, who have warm feelings towards a sick and depraved ideology. You regularly see people wearing Nazi/Ustasha regalia at music/political/sporting events. Can you imagine seeing that in Germany or Austria. You'd be thrown in jail so fast your head would spin. But not in modern Croatia. Shame on them. Operation storm was a huge crime. Nothing to celebrate.

Croatia has a fascist past, and a fascist reputation. Celebrating Storm does nothing to reverse the thought that Croatia still thinks too much of itself and not enough about the amount it contributed to the mess that originated in their policy of breaking up Yugoslavia.

Wisdom for Croatia would be to be quiet about Storm ever after. There is always going to be a taint from the ethnic cleansing, however much they may believe that it was a good thing.

B92 - An earlier report said the UK and others were attending. That was an unlikely thing for the UK to do - and turned out not to be the case. Was the reporter misinforming - or misinformed?

What about the 900,000 Albanians who were temporarily forced to leave Kosova to Albania and Macedonia in 1999 before NATO helped them return? Don't forget that there are hundreds of thousands of Albanians from Kosova across Europe who were forced to flee Kosova due to the oppression they were facing based on their ethnicity.

Also the Serbs of Croatia weren't ethnically cleansed, they were evacuated, they already had their bags packed and on August 5, 1995, Milan Martić ordered "issued an order26 calling for the evacuation of all persons incapable of military service from the Knin, Benkovac, Obrovac, Drnis and Gracac municipalities".

You can't evacuate a population, then later claim that they've been "ethnically cleansed". That is called twisting and manipulating something for political gain aka PROPAGANDA!

After the recent circus in Srebrenica, it looks like another circus is being organised in Croatia. I hope all those clowns from Albania attend this special event.

This Kolinda is just as disgusting as her country's policies. Croatia is still and always will be a little country that does nothing to contribute regional stability. It stay's on the selfish path only looking to change it's own tarnished image like a desperate little child. No Serb will ever take part in "Operation Other Countries Came To Do Our Dirty Work Because We Would Have Gotten Our Asses Handed To Us".

They should because if NATO didn't show up to help with the logistics of ethnically cleansing 250, 000 Serbs, the Croat Ustashe would not have absolutely anything to celebrate today. Without NATO, Croatia would not have been able to do anything to those people. So it would be fitting for them to attend. Though I guess this is a sign of Serbia's growing importance in the region.

How about Hilly Billy, Tony Blair and Papa, I bet they will be there! Hilly Billy came to Srebenica to comfort Islam, I saw him, he was wiping sweat from his fore head and clearing the tears from his eyes with Monica's panties! Maybe Hilly Billy will bring Monica's panties on over to Croatia with him to wave around like a flag as Hitler's parade passes by!

Stop playing devil's advocate all the time....If you Serbs were so tough the JNA would have defeated a largely unarmed Croatia in by August of 1991.

Nothing to celebrate.

njegos

Interesting that the celebration of biggest military victory in Croatian history won't be attended by the majority of the countries that made it possible. The Croatians, however, will no doubt have fun celebrating their victory over the approximately 2,000 Serbs they killed, primarily the elderly civilians. But then again, when you have absolutely no military history at all, you tend to celebrate anything you can. Centuries of being the stable cleaners of the Hapsburgs will do that to you.

Maybe Azir 'the coward' will join the party. I'll pay for his ticket if the Croats agree to keep him there.

================================

===============================
What do you think was going to happen to them if they didn't evacuate? Serbs know how Croatians work and they knew that unless they leave they will all be killed (Jasenovac 2).
Why are they not returning to Croatia now if they are not ethnically cleansed? What is going on with their property?

Unfortunately lipstick on a pig can't mask the pig.
NATO run out of lipstick and had no idea what kind of weapon to use.

If anyone is curious, why out of sudden an "anti-Croatian" comment from me (never had any before!). Explanation: no one should celebrate that civil war. There is nothing to celebrate in Yugoslavia if it is about 1990 - 2008. 18 years of disaster and it's not over yet.

And I don't give a rat's behind who is guilty.

Peggy you bring a good point and they had no choice the coridore was left on purpose however just the same did not happen in Kosovo where Serb forces raped and killed people leaving and took their documents at the border why you feel Serbs pain but not Albanians?
(I think therefor I am, 16 July 2015 13:31)
--------------------------------------------------
Obviously everyone has their truth and we can argue how many Serbs were raped, tortured and killed in Kosovo too but let's not get bogged down in that now.

Eh, to bad - Bil Clinton was still decent compared with Dubya...
Regarding Monica: as long as they feel good 1:1 I don't care less.

If not several major blunders (Balkans, Millenium Copyright and few other things) that (not-so) glorious Clinton duo (or trio?) still did bring us jobs.

Now what came after... that was a real disgrace for the country and a major tragedy.
Abu Gharaib... 9/11... Afghanistan... Iraq... Kosovo... anything you would just think off.

This is why - knowing well who she is - I am going to vote for Hillary. You chose the lesser of two evils.

On the other side I just don't know for whom to vote in Hungary or Russia. What they do offer is either a major disaster or your vote is lost.

I won't mind to have a time machine to vote in some better time.

Operation Storm was a Fait-Accompli as FRY and Milosevic did not interfere in exchange for parts of Bosnia. In hindsight, the Krajina Serbs had many offers on the table for an autonomous region under Croatia, they refused.

3 days ago I was thinking if the French had nothing better to celebrate than their idiotic Bastille Day ? And I found nothing valuable they could be proud of. Napoleon Wars ? Algiers and other colonial massacres ? Hitler sucking ? Lydia’s treason ? So if such big and old nations have problems with celebrations what can we expect from the rest ? Fragmentation of the mankind is a very disappointing thing but it helps the US rule the world.
