"it's quite convincing that Serbia is not even close to being ready for EU negotiations."

Let's hope we're never 'READY' for 'EU negotiations'. I'd rather my country wasn't stripped of its resources, families not deprived of their ability to make a living, people unable to support their families. I like haircuts only on my head.

"What disturbs me is Serbian citizens having access to bombs"

You're a fool. Bombs can be made with cleaning supplies too. What, would you have us scrub our toilets with nothing but water? Not fertilise our plants and food?

We have less violence here than you do in your country. Prejudice and ignorance don't suit you. Focus on your own problems.

"According to the Belgrade based daily Blic, the victim was Dragan Jelinovic, the owner of the Cabaret Rose nightclub."

Owner of the Cabaret Rose nightclub?!? I am sure, that guy was just an innocent Serbian citizen, not a mafia boss who got his blood-stained money during the civil war.

The only reason I am not an owner of a nightclub somewhere in Vegas or Moscow is that my wife wasn't good at saving money.

My salary in 1987 was about 8000 Forint (about 300 West-Marks). And my wife wasn't diligent at money-saving. So we have no nightclub today.

My wishes to the ones who planted the bomb: they should meet their victim in a hot and familiar place. No fire-proof suits allowed!

To all hatfull and jealous albanian trolls commenting this article. You should look at what is happening in youre own society. The other day albanians were arrrested for poisoning the water that provides drinkingwater to Pristina. They were albanians having been to Syria. Besides if you want to visit the city in Europe with most attacks with handgranades and bombs you should come to Malmoe, Sweden.

Mafia just seems a lot stronger in Southern Europe, but you can always blame german nazis and islamics. How come Finns and Swedes despite being brutalized by the russians for centuries and not having anything but timber to sell, don't have this similar culture of lawlesness. I can accept that if not for UK and US than perhaps Norway, Germany and Denmark would be in a same situation as the greek, latin and slavic world are. It really goes back to WW2 and how Finland, Sweden or UK were never occupied and humiliated during the war. Sweden got a lot of Marshall aid too, but Finland didn't. South Europeans should take a look in the mirror. Malmo turned into Al Capones Chicago the moment immigrants from the Balksns started arriving.

What disturbs me is Serbian citizens having access to bombs, and what not; it's quite convincing that Serbia is not even close to being ready for EU negotiations. We are not talking about a country in Middle East like Syria or Afghanistan. This is Serbia which happens to be in Europe with aspirations to become EU member. News similar to this case is not helping Serbia's situation to become a member of family organization that is held to the highest standards in the world.

And what happened in Paris today? Does france not have high standards? Are they ready to still be in the EU?

".. it's quite convincing that Serbia is not even close to being ready for EU negotiations. ."

Serbia isn't joining for a few years so its rather a moot point.

Haven't you heard? Former Romanian PM guilty of fraud, corruption etc. Neither Bulgaria nor Romania were ever reformed before they were given a free pass to join the EU.

It was a political decision that flew in the face of the EU's own acquis communautaire, and every single EU member state and every EU institution agreed they could join. Now that's rampant political corruption for you.

Hand grenades were selling for 5 German Marks during the civil wars. A person just has to cross into Bosnia to unearth one of millions of personal and anti-vehicle land mines for their source of explosives. No need for army corp of engineers. Furthermore, Serbia (minus illegal Albanians in Kosovo) is ranked second in the world for firearms per capita, U.S. is first.
