When Tesla was born and growing up there was no Croatia as a country. It was Austro Hungarian empire . So, to be exact, Nikolai Tesla was born and raised in the Habsburg country, of orthodox parents and a prominent family of Serbian decent. His uncle was a vladika in the Serbian monastery in the Habsburg land. Many Serbs are being born and raised all over the globe under different circumstances. One of them is my son, laser and Jurist Doctor, graduate from Cornell Law School which is one of 8 Ivy League universities, one of the best in the world. He lives in Washington DC. My brother's two sons are borne and raised in Toronto, they are Serbs from Toronto, both hold PhD degrees in science. They do not go often beck to Serbia but know and are proud of their Serbian origin.Tesla's last wish in his testament was that Tamo daleko Serbian WWI patriotic song be performed at his burial.Serbs all over the world respect Tesla and try to teach the world about him.

Hey Lenny - I get a kick out of you trying to claim Tesla as a Croat. It seems that your countrymen thought differently than you as they burned his family's home to the ground, not once but twice. The first time was during WWII and the second was during the war of the 90s. Nice legacy of the Croat people - burning a priest's home to the ground. (As mentioned by many others here, Tesla's father was a Serbian Orthodox priest).

How's the family Lenny? Now that the weather's warmer, I'm sure they aren't as cold in their cardboard box. Zagreb can be a cold, cold place. LOL

@ Lenard "The one in Croatia is ten times better in his home town."

You mean the one that opened in 2006 because Croatians thought so little of Tesla they burned his homestead and his father's (Serbian Orthodox affiliated) church to the ground?

Your expressions of self-importance and biblical verses are bizarre. Reality is you are nothing but an ignorant racist.

Don't take credit for sometimes a serb did. This croatian serb is suddenly croatian but the remaining 300000 are serbs. The only thing you ustashe are good at is adoring Hitler and nazism.

Tesla was in Serbia. He convalesced at a Serbian monastery from his illness - with his father promising he could go to the U.S. if he recovered.

Tesla also visited Belgrade and left his will to Serbia.

He said he was a Serb and glad his accomplishments credited the Serbs.

Croats killed all his relatives - there are none of his relatives living in Croatia anymore.

His father was a Serbian Orthodox Priest and his mother was the daughter of a Serbian Orthodox Priest himself.

His is a credit for ethnic Serbs and a son of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The one in Croatia is ten times better in his home town. He was never ever in Serbia its like Britain claiming American Edison. Telsa born in Croatia went to school in Croatia and Zagreb university. Always claimed Croatia his home and country. If he was born in Serbia won't of amounted to much just canon fodder for warmongering Serb despot pig farmer "King".
