Ask Serbia to be something your own country is not. Where is Bosnian, Croatias and Albanian self-criticism? Give me one example?
(MikeC, 11 July 2015 08:41)

Sorry, but why would you be against Serbia being better than places like Bosnia, Croatia and Albania which, according to the most patriotic of Serbs, are so backward?!

(eagleeye, 11 July 2015 11:53)

roberto is an American Jew from Detroit called Robert Leonard Rope. He's said so himself, though he pretended for a long time to be Bosnian before he switched over to thinking he was Albanian. In reality this guy can't speak either language and to my knowledge has never been to the region. If he has, he knows absolutely nothing about the history past what he gets from comment sections on the Internet. He was once married to a Serbian woman who divorced him, which probably explains his intolerance for Serbs. Now he's teaching middle school somewhere in California. He's quite the self-crowned blogger though he rarely writes anything anymore except here. He actually used to be more moderate, but I think the Internet drove him crazy and his wish to be something he's not forced him to convince himself he is what he claims to be.

I also love you but I hate your comments. You look so helpless when you wipe your tears with your pants. So behave and you will have your beloved trademark back. Otherwise I’ll keep on delivering Serbo-phobia to even bigger absurd. Remember that words like “painted with the blood” and genocide are too strong for my ear. It means that we’ll have many good Bobs. But it will be your choice as I love my own name.

One thing you find very little of in Serbian media is any kind of meaningful democratic self-criticism

One thing you find very little of in Serbian media is any kind of meaningful democratic self-criticism, and that is really quite damaging and poisonous for any hopes of eventual democracy and "reconciliation' which is only about a million miles away. Milosevic mentality still rules.
(roberto, 10 July 2015 21:34)

It's rare you'll conjure up the courage to reply anymore around here but I'm glad you did. You just perfectly identified problems with media in the Balkans everywhere, not just Serbia. In Croatia, the media continues the mentality of Tudjman, referring to its Serbian minority as Chetniks, and routinely demonizes enemies of the state as being aligned with homosexuals and communists. In Albania and Macedonia, the media is the mouthpiece of the regimes, and in Kosovo, independent journalists fear for their lives reporting the truth.

If you actually were concerned with these as you are obsessed with what you think is fascist media in Serbia, you'd actually have more credibility. But that's not really your concern is it? You're not interested in facts and you're not interested in finding out why things happen. You have a personal battle with Serbia and the Serbian people which you barely mask behind some cheap facade of investigative journalism. And that, roberto, is why you have zero credibility with anything you say or will say. That you refuse to even consider being more open minded shows how much of a hateful person you really are.

The Srebrenica massacre is a dishonour to Serbia.

This suppression of assembly is a victory for the rabid nationalists of the right but is a further dishonour to Serbia.

Serbia is painted with the blood of those dishonourably killed.

I love Serbia, but despise the nationalists who justify the murders and who cannot see that in all the sh** that happened to all sides in Bosnia, the most gross part was the genocidal murders in Srebrenica.

We're out right now for a few days taking in the nice weather.

Til then:

First recognize the 600,000 person genocide that took place in Bosnia's Jasenovac 70 years ago (mostly Serbs killed).

Nazi's and Fascists dont recognize it.

And if you don't --- well, you are then one of them.

PS: Please remember to behave yourself in Stebrenica since you will be on Bosnian Serb soil.

(roberto, 10 July 2015 18:28)

By the way according to the Russian genetics (Klesov) the cradle of the Russian R1a1 happlogroup was in Serbia, BIH and Macedonia. To say nothing that Serbian and Macedonian languages are much closer to the old Russian than the current Russian. Russian and Bulgarian languages were reformed in 18-19 centuries to increase their distance with the old Slovensky language of ours.

“прародины праславян, прародины «индоевропейцев», прародины ариев - которой оказались Балканы. И не просто Балканы, а Сербия, Косово, Босния, Македония. Это – ареал самых древних гаплотипов рода R1a1.”

Are you kidding ? For 3 days that summits of BRICS and SCO were held in the Russian Ufa city there was no mentioning of it here. They wrote about a Brazilian caught with 8 kilo of drugs but said nothing of his President Dilma Russev who spent 3 days in Russia together with other 13 heads of states representing 50% of the mankind. Guess I know why. Because it contradicts the picture of the “isolated” Russia. Also I don’t think that B92 is free to say everything that comes to their minds. So they are always inside the main stream. It’s a common practice in the West.

A pity. I would have loved to have seen remnants of the SRS and Women in Black, two of the most ridiculous elements of Serbian civil society go at it. Throw in Kandic/Biserko on one side and Obraz/Dveri on the other and I wouldn't know which side to support roughing up the other. But it's probably all for the best. Serbia shouldn't take attention away from the circus the international community is bound to provide us in Bosnia.
