Serbia "fully digitized as of Sunday" - minister

Serbia's television signal is fully digitized as of Sunday and 97.8 percent of the population is covered by digital broadcasting, says Rasim Ljajic.

I worked in digital TV and we will see how well this will go when winter comes. With analog, even if there is a snow storm you still had some picture. With digital, when one or a few bits in the complex DVB stream falls over, the signal has to sync again. This is what you get when the picture 'freezes'. DVB is great and complex technology but vulnerable to weather extremes, especially the terrestrial type of DVB. People in mountainous and remote areas will get problems with reception.
