Just when I think your president has said the dumbest thing ever he shows me wrong.
He is sitting with the appointed ruler of Cuba, and true the Cuban people do hope for freedom and independence, so much so that they are willing to put together rafts of whatever scrap wood they can find and set out into the treacherous ocean to go a 100 miles never knowing how many will survive just for a taste of freedom in America. There is no similarities of Serbs in Serbia and Cubans in Cuba, now for some minorities in Serbia he might make the comparison.

I would stack my life in the US against yours wherever it may be anyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
We have a different take on the events of Ferguson!!!!
I wonder when was the last time you had people by the thousands risking their life to get Into Serbia?? Anyone crossing into Serbia are only transiting to another destination.
How many Americans do you see being smuggled into China or Russia for a "better" life? Then how many from Russia and China do you see doing whatever they have to for a chance at a better life in the US.

Have to give special thanks to "rote"! As I was growing up in the US during the cold war, always heard constantly about the restricted freedom of Russia, that the people had been fed propaganda all their life and they really had no concept of reality. I would wonder if that was just a form of propaganda here in the US.
But after reading the many many posts by rote, of a convoluted history and how everything on the planet not only originated from but revolved around Russia, I can go to sleep at nights knowing that I was NOT led astray in my childhood.
