Serbs will wait 500 years if they have to, but they will not budge when they set their feet.

Ok, that's great... Talk to you in 500 years then and at that point will discuss again if you'll budge and what happens to Kosovo in the following 500 years and so on. It's so great for Kosovo to have very patient neighbouurs :)

Albanians are counting on the Serb people wanting the EU so bad, that they will just give up on Kosovo.

hmm, not sure the statement above makes any sense... If somebody has promissed you that Serbia will get Kosovo back if you don't join the EU, then sorry dear to shatter your dreams, but you've been grossly misled.

However, Serbia is free to decide whether to join the EU without Kosovo or remain outside the EU without Kosovo. I personally would prefer the latter and agree with the most patriotic of Serbs that Serbia should not be allowed to become an EU member.

@Watcher,
Yeah maybe that what you are saying would have worked before what Serbia did to Kosovars in the 90s. If Serbs wait 500 years we are prepared to wait for for eternity and never go under Serbian boot again. Cheers.

Watcher, that's all fine and good. I get it that the Serb ego is hurt. But what you and every Serb here call a win-win negotiated solution is a total loss for us, but a 100% win for Serbia since it gets to keep Kosova. So only a fool would sign for autonomy, especially when you keep in mind the last 15-20 years. No matter what this autonomy entails. We are just as stubborn. The only middle ground I see is splitting the north. But in order for that to happen you and your compatriots need to face reality and that is, Kosova is gone forever. Now you have to decide whether you'd be OK with getting N.Nitro as a consolation price. This step is already a decade too late and by the looks of it, you may have to wait 500 years.

Yes, you are absolutley correct. I have NEVER met more stubborn people than us Serbs. THAT is EXACTLY why I promote a negotiated agreement that benefits BOTH sides! Serbs will wait 500 years if they have to, but they will not budge when they set their feet. They could be bombed into toeing the line for the moment, but that first opportunity they get, they will punch back. Albanians are counting on the Serb people wanting the EU so bad, that they will just give up on Kosovo. I am not demeaning the Albanian history or people, they are a proud people also...and rightly so! Do people not see what I see? NOTHING is going to change if one side gains all and other side nothing! You MUST make both sides at least somewhat satisfied. Otherwise, that "injustice", whatever that means, will always hang over our future childrens head. One side strongarming the other does not bode well in the Balkins. I am in the US...ALL you native Balkinites should be saying this, not ME!!

"It is on the great powers now to decide how they will treat Serbia, and we think that neither the opening of chapter 35 (which regards Kosovo as part of the accession negotiations) nor the entire process of European integration should suffer consequences of Pristina's stubborn and inconsistent attitude," Djuric said.

-- Yea sure, that's what will happen because your father is head of the EU policy decision-making process. Also, a Serb calling others stubborn. This is comedy gold.
