FyI: Nobody was ever attacked in eastern Ukraine until Russia-supported ethnic separatists decided to seize official government buildings and police stations.

This is coming from a country who continued to bomb the hell out of Sarajevo even though they were told to cease firing by the U.N. Chetniks will always be the savages of the Balkans.

I understand where you comming from - in normal situation one could reply violently to takeover of government offices. But, what if you already set the standard in particular country? That government should pullback its forces to avoid violence, for example.
Let's not forget that Ukraine is divided country in some way...like language. Almost evenly split.

The problem is - you can't really allow one and deny to the other - it's discrimination. You can't say that some can while others can't...based on their gender, race...or oppinion.
Strangly, this time nobody in the West blames government for escalating violence...no sanctions imposed on Ukrainian official. Why is that?

When Yanukovich rejected EU deal for better deal with Russia, Maidan protest started. Large part of the strategy was occupying government buildings and disobeying the government. Here is partial list.

For some reason list started on Jan 23, 2014. Many government buildings were taken over much earlier - like Kiev City Hall on Dec 1st, 2013.
In the Western Ukraine they even went as far as to declare independence.
They broke into army barracks taking arms and equipment.

Opposition called supportes to charge on Rada on Feb 18th, and to take power. Voices warning not to oppose such charge were comming from everywhere
