What about the scandalous situation whereby the minister for education announced on TV that the teachers had won a small victory by not having their salaries reduced and the very next day he proceeded to reduce their salaries? How can it be a success or any indication of "good times" when an average teacher's salary is on a par with a cleaner in any of the ministries? I am amazed that this kind of gross social injustice is not reported more widely in the media. More worry is the fact that the unions who are "representing" the teachers seem to have accepted the minister's version of events and backed the calling off of the strikes. I wonder what motivated these actions?
