I would really like to know what made Croatia eligible for EU other then friendship with Germany. Fairness toward minorities and development certainly did not.

Yup, you finally got it! If Serbia had been pragmatic and chosen to be a friend of Germany, EU, US, NATO it would still have Kosovo today and the bombing of 1999 would have never happened. But Serbia went with the romanticism of Slavic "brotherhood" and choose Russia (which is irrelevant) with disastrous results...

Serbia is the last country in Europe and even of a few in the world which is not completly ruled by the pope.

Things are much improved on the mess of the Milosevic era.

It is time that Serbia got some sort of a pat on the back for progress made.

Sebia will not be allowed to go back to the previous mess. Both because military action did have the desired effect in putting a stop to the Milosevic way of thinking, but more particularly because the people of Serbia were also victims of Milosevic's policy's, and are actually more interested in having better lives than was then on offer.

Who knows some day you may be able to come on here and say good things about Serbia and list its accomplishments, instead of saying it is not as bad as somewhere else. On top of that you have to make the others look as bad as you can to make Serbia look better!
