Russia reacts to Albanian PM's "unification" comments

"We assume that no matter what considerations or motives could stand behind Rama’s words, the recurrence of the pan-Albanian rhetoric is unlikely to contribute to preserving the climate of stability and good-neighborliness in the Balkan region, which is vital for Russia and other European countries," the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.

Totally correct, Mr foreign minister, and the same goes for the 'new Russia rhetorics' used in Kremlin controlled Russian propaganda media (like RT) and by Russian nationalists which as well don't contribute to peace and good neighborliness in eastern Europe.

Russia's weirdest geopolitical political view is actually in Albanians favor. How come Russia has natural obligation to protect russians rights and Albanians dont??!! Take this double-standard diplomacy crap, roll it and..(you know what else. I think what Rama said was kind of wrong. The reason why is because Albanians are already partially united. All serbia has to do at this point is; use a little bit of lubrification and you will be fine.

I think that Russia is not in a good position to me these statements. Recently it annexed Crime a region historically with a majority of Crimea Tartars about 35% and the others Russians and Ukrainians. They said that Crimea is a region where Russians are a majority and we have an obligation to protect them (that's true because Russians now are about 60% of Crimea) but protect them from WHO? Did anybody kill the Russians in that region?? Kosovo has suffered genocide and still today are being found new massive graves, all the population was constricted to flee the country. I hope that the tartars of Crimea haven't had the same fate because it appears that the Slaves have this tactics that they convert or clean the other ethnic populations. Kosovo is a region where Albanians are Autochtones more than 97% and it was given to Serbia after the Balkan wars as a war reward. Serbia abused by sending prisoners in the north of Kosovo to colonize the it (may be Russians did the same with tartars) and when they could not Milosevic started a genocide to push the population OUT of the country. Now why Russians can take Crimea (60%) with an union act after a referendum and half of Albania that is Kosovo (97%) can`t unite with a referendum!!!????

One big difference between Russian actions on protecting ethnic Russians in outlying countries and Albanian rhetoric of attempting to do the same through unification.....Russia has the means to enforce their actions without anyones approval, whereas Albos need to consult with the US/Brussels for approval first and still lack the means. Case in point, Crimea!

Rama made the declaration on April 4th,Russia is responding on April 15th,11 days later.
As usually very late.
But for Serbs this is OK.

Russia is a multinational country with big experience of coexistence of peoples and religions. Half of the government including Foreign , Defense , Finance and other ministers are of non-Russian origin. Our positive approach and experience can in a great degree be used on the Balkans where from so many big wars were launched. It’s very primitive to think that our position here is to support Serbia and Greece here. Peace in Serbia and peace in the neighboring countries is the same peace and should the other sides play as positive roles as Russia many issues could be settled rather soon. Unfortunately real politics is conducted under other rules while Balkans is just one of the platforms where big powers compete. I personally don’t mind a Greater Albania as well as the Greater Serbia , Greater Bulgaria, Greater Croatia , Greater Hungary , Greater Greece , Greater Romania ect. But on practice Balkans are too small to include all those greats. So there must be some spirit of compromise introduced to start the talks. Otherwise another big war is guaranteed. Today it’s not quite natural when Serbs live in 3 countries , Croats in 2 , Albanians in 5 ect. But if the relations are normalized and other steps are made the problem will stop to be that sensitive. First thing to do is to stop making statements that further degradate the relations. Then time will become our doctor ally.

It's funny statement coming from Russians. If we united it will be with consensus from two sovereign countries, Albania and Kosova, not by using tanks and missiles.Thank you for your concern comrade Putin but no thanks.

The funny thing to highlight in all of this story is the EU reaction , that was far more stronger than the russian one.. What the hell..!! It's hard to understand who is more pro serb in this part of the world Russia or the EU?? The USA is right to not trust the europeans.. I think we albanias should do the same. We're really getting bored with these kind of behaviour from the EU.
