It's not modernisation Mr.Vucic it's what Prince Charles of Great Britain would call a monstrous carbuncle and all Belgraders I've spoken too agree with this seemingly appropriate description.Lenard,my dear fellow, what atrocious grammar you need to read more of the Serbian contributors comments to help you along with your less than adequate grasp of English but more importantly to enjoy a less bigoted form of literature.

so many reasons to resist this project, so you have to wonder why vucic did not expect this, unless his mind was too wrapped up in fantasies of how he will spend his kickbacks. why would you allow a muslim nation to get involved with anything in your country. why would you want a look that contradicts the history and culture of your city. and who would live and shop in this new place...the almost 17% unemployed, people living on the average monthly wage of $390?

this project represents nothing more than

- the selling off a little more of your national soul
- a playground for serb, russian, and other eastern euro criminals and corrupt officials
- an unpayable debt that will enslave the serb public
- investment from an muslim arab nation that will be 50% or more of the cost with NO ACTUAL terms defined, so what will UAE get out of this investment???

belgrade residents will give up so much and gain nothing in return

Giving away your city's prime real estate to 1 questionable company without any tender or transparency for some unrealistic megaproject is hardly "modernization"

Serbs are so backward the Arab Emirets development corparation showd be paying for expropriation cost. It will be just a enclave for rich Arabs to keep a eye on their Serfs [link] subjectes. As they buy dirt cheep farming land and any land they deem necessary to produce cheeply food for their desert lands.

LeNerd,

Where you lack in the ability to stitch sentences together, and communicate coherently, you certainly make up for it with your success, in proving to us all, that you may have issues, that only a qualified psychologist, may be able to help you with.

Modernization or illusions of grandeur?
I know architects in Serbia who are totally against it but who were largely ignored. The design of the buildings doesn't do justice to the history of the city. Serbia allows its skyline to be determined by Arab countries with shiny high rising buildings and to have its city turned into shopping malls and amusement centers. There is no such thing as a free lunch and there will be a price to pay. Nobody invests in something without getting something for it in return.

When I think of Serbian politicians being involved in this project, I cringe. I too wish BG well with tis endeavor, but knowing Serb businessmen and politicians, I have a feeling this BGH2O will become an unfinished eyesore, leaving the Serbian public in more debt than they could imagine.

As I said before, Lenard is not a person but a brand. A group of croats have got together and take turns to write in the name of Lenard. Some of these croats have only a basic grasp of the English language, others are much worse. Today we have the country bumpkin Lenard whose use of English is quite remarkable. Can today's Lenard please call one of his mates and get them to write something really offensive, but in English and not in this Croat-Germanic gibberish language.

Caption for the picture, Vucic and his band of thieves. belgardeh2o will be a bust. The reason I say that is because anything that Serbs try to build is a bust. They simply do not have the know how for a project of this magnitude. It would have to be built by outside interests, but the money simply will not be there. bGh2o is a marketing campaign, nothing else. Besides, who in their right mind would spend a lot of money for an apartment in BG, there are a lot more attractive places for the wealthy to invest in. Maybe some crooked Serian and Russian politicians will launder their stolen money in the project, but that's it. The Arabs have a ton of money, but they don't throw it away.

Screw what Vucic said, I want to know what SNS put in the free sandwiches for all of those people who "randomly" showed up outside the parliament to lend their support to Beograd na vodi. Kulen? Prsut?
