I don't understand why it's a problem for Kosovo to join the IOC or the FIBA; both organizations allow teams from non-sovereign entities to join. Regardless of Kosovo's sovereignty status, Kosovo's separate entry into these organizations undermines neither Serbia's claim to sovereignty over Kosovo nor the integrity of such organizations.

For example, the U.S., Puerto Rico, and American Samoa all field separate Olympic teams, despite being under the same sovereignty (right or wrong).

Hey Theo that remark of yours regarding the wall. Remember that walls come down as well as going up...eg.Berlin. You can't separate two parts of the same country forever, but hey carry on and try if you must.
(Eye, 17 March 2015 08:14)

This is an interesting commment seeing that Kosova is 95% Albanian. But then again, you have Austria and Germany, Greece and Cyprus. Same people two countries. You have your analogy wrong. If anything the Berlin wall applies to Albanians being divided and now these borders have come down. But as my examples show, if Greece and Cyprus can be two different countries so can Kosova and Albania.

No they won't. They'll be able to chant that whenever they play against Albania and the racist Autochthonous Albania flag is flown.
(Navi, 16 March 2015 22:13)

Hey dude did you forget that the next time you will play against Albania it will be in their grounds? Do you really think that there will be any 'brave' serbs to try and attend that match in Albania? I don't think so as you showed you get terrified by only a flag, let alone by a large crowd of people. If some do, they would have no clue as to what they would be walking into. What goes around comes around.

Too true Kosova is moving forward like a dog chasing its tail. Is that the reason for the mass exodus?
(sj, 17 March 2015 07:31)
A Serbian report of mass exodus of Albanians out of Kosovo hits the wire service and is repeated and the Serb puppies are wetting on themselves.
As a person who constantly says do not believe what you read in the press, ask yourself a couple of questions?
Do you really believe that 15-20% of the population of Kosovo actually crossed the Serbian border into the EU in a couple of months? a 100,000 people illegally crossing a small border a month is more Mexicans crossing over a thousand miles of border between the US and Mexico. At that rate border guards in Serbia would be retiring with villas at an enormous rate.
Serbia has been totally unsuccessful in reclaiming Kosovo, but it has been successful in inhibiting the economic growth Kosovo needs. But the closer to EU membership it gets the less it can do even that. People leave Kosovo for the same reason you or your parents left Serbia, for a better life, can you blame them, would you be willing to move back to Serbia and accept a job at probably 10% of your present salary or less?
You see the star finance minister that appeared in Serbia stayed in his job, how long? People from other countries are NOT returning to Serbia as a land of opportunity. It is merely a transit site hoping for a brighter future. What is the population of Serbia compared to 20 years ago?

Not taxes, but most of the goods coming into Kosovo-Metohija come either from or through the rest of Serbia. You have EULEX and KFOR, the Palestinians don't and they are still miles ahead of you guys.
(Ari Gold, 17 March 2015 13:34)

Palestine would love to have KFOR there it will provide eyes on the ground. So what if goods enter through Serbia you signed CEFTA and also Serbian goods are sold in Kosovo what that has to do with Statehood.

Palestine can not even buy fuel it must get it from Israel, when they get upset they give them lower portion. I can go on but its clear you have never visited Palestine and i doubt you have been in Kosovo.

So tell me how are they miles ahead opening tunnels to get food from Egypt? We have open port in Albania use it with no issues something even Serbia does not have exit at SEA!!!

If Serbia didn't want to compete against Kosovo in sports it wouldn't have signed the brussels agreement. It also would have quit the Olympics as Serbs in every sport will compete against Kosovo in rio next year.

@Gianfranco

you know what? you are absolutely right, Serbia would most probably annihilate Kosovo at basketball. thing is though, you're now in a bit of a dilemma you see, because should you play Kosovo, you are acknowledging a separate state, this is why your federation has its knickers in a twist. if it helps to soothe the pain of knowing that little by little this state is being accepted in all sporting organisations, then dismiss them as bearded two headed goats with tails, come the Olympics, you will still the Kosova flag at the ceremony. so you don't get a heart attack, turn the tv off at that point. next step UEFA, then you will really seathe

Hey Theo that remark of yours regarding the wall. Remember that walls come down as well as going up...eg.Berlin. You can't separate two parts of the same country forever, but hey carry on and try if you must.

Palestine is more of a country than you'll ever be.
(Ari Gold, 16 March 2015 19:52)

Hey mate, Kosovo has no intention of becoming like Palestine, so yes, you're correct. Kosovo will never be like Palestine.

Completely agree. Vucic's EUfanatic government helped make this happen. At least you are aware of which country allows you to participate in sports in this manner. Not that there will be much of "kosovo" in many international tournaments anyway. Besides, Palestine has had the same status for decades now and Palestine is more of a country than you'll ever be.
(Ari Gold, 16 March 2015 19:52)

Not true Ari Palestine can not even collect its own taxes at its border so there you go one key element of state, no goods can not enter without approval of israel.

Now in Kosovo you can not say the same Serbia has no control over any thing

Nope

"Not taxes, but most of the goods coming into Kosovo-Metohija come either from or through the rest of Serbia. You have EULEX and KFOR, the Palestinians don't and they are still miles ahead of you guys.
(Ari Gold, 17 March 2015 13:34) "

Again not true. The most used route for goods are Macedonia and now Albania. If you had been either in Kosovo or Palestine you would not compare the two. Not even close.

No they won't. They'll be able to chant that whenever they play against Albania and the racist Autochthonous Albania flag is flown.
(Navi, 16 March 2015 22:13)

Hey dude did you forget that the next time you will play against Albania it will be in their grounds? Do you really think that there will be any 'brave' serbs to try and attend that match in Albania? I don't think so as you showed you get terrified by only a flag, let alone by a large crowd of people. If some do, they would have no clue as to what they would be walking into. What goes around comes around.
