Everything looks great however, what happened to the SAM 300 and the warplanes we were supposed to receive. Personally, I would forget about the SAM 300 and get what Iran is getting.

These Russia articles really bring out the nationalists and their crazy rhetoric. Where was Russia in 1999 when NATO was attacking? Where was Russia in 1941 when the Nazis were invading? It seems like Serbia doesn't have much of an ally in Russia when it really matters. It's in name only and from a time long long ago.

As for 1999, Russia was but a shell, hollowed out by great Russian democrats like К Khordokovsky, Г Gusinsky & Б Berezovsky (КГБ). It had nothing and could do nothing short of launching nuclea weapons. It's pilots barely flew 20 hours a year, just enough not to kill themselves in the air.

Maybe you forgot, or simply don't care, but the Red Army swept Belgrade of Nazi scum, after Tito made Stalin sign an agreement that the Red Army was only transiting and would not stop. Whatever!

Where were the Russians in 1941? They were in a bitter struggle with Satan trying to survive living hell! Where were the Russians in 1999? Let me put it in this way, they were there for Serbia like always, they did what they could under the circumstances that were present at the time! Just imagine with out Russia in 1999, maybe an atomic bomb on Beograd? Yes it was possible! It would be great for Serbian pilots to train over Russia. Russia is so enormous, that they will have plenty of flight space.
Russia training for its jets is topnotch. Serbs should train with and in Russia all the time.
I also wouldn't hold it against any of those pilots to defect to Russia if Serbia ever joins NATO. But I don't think the Serbian public will allow Serbia to join NATO for many, many years - if ever.

Russia could not help Serbia in the 1990s as it was very weak. At that time it was barely able to hold on to its own territory. Russia was broke Yeltsin had no choice. It was either do what he was told or it would have resulted in chaos, literally led to starvation due to a lack of money and further disintegration of Russia. Places like Dagistan, Chechna and other regions of Russia would have been “encouraged” by the US to break away if Moscow did not do as it was told.
Now having said all that, I can say that if Russia does not help Serbia in the near future then you feel free to say the Serbs should turn their backs on Moscow and I’ll agree with you.

And Russia does NOT have the most powerful military in the world - I doubt if any one country has at this moment, despite the amounts the USA spends on its forces. Russia simply has the best means to face up to and counter any threat from any country, that's all.

Serbs have an image problem - and this isnt helped when the voices on this site sing the praises of the likes of Seselj, Milosevic, Mladic Arkan etc - those very perople who are responsible for the sufferings and deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocents.

Let us never forget our "friend" Russia was in full support of sanctions against Yugoslavia, including a sanction on basic necessities (Zimbabwe and India were the only nations to object to the sanctions). Let us never forget that it was Russia who forced us to sign the Kumanovo treaty and threatened to leave us to be slaughtered by NATO if we didn't sign it.

So please, if there is anybody on this forum who can explain to me why Russia is our brother then please come forward. And please don't use the excuse that Russia was "forced" to betray us because of "loans" and "democratic chaos". There is a fine line between ignoring a nation and supporting its destruction (something Russia crossed long ago)

Besides he’s been missing 8 days only that is quite normal for your black skinned spokesman of the White House. Also the sanctions must have caused only 20-30% of the economic problems of Russia. Others are sequences of the oil prices and the delayed reforms.

*** You remind me a friend of mine who called me from western Ukraine last night. Like most of the Ukrainians he feels sympathy for Russia rather than Ukraine. So he was worried about Putin and the last statements the Chinese made about Crimea. I told him that Putin had never looked to have problems with his health and that I do not care what the Chinese or Americans think. I even told him that last 24 years he forgot how the Great Powers behave as throughout the history they little cared of the rest of the world.

You must be equating Putin with God! His desperation is showing, he has backed himself into a corner, his empire is crumbling before it could have become a mole hill. But there is much to fear, as the desperation grows the possibility of him pressing the nuclear button also grows. But he will have to go full court press because less than 5 seconds after he launches the first nuke thousands of war heads will be launched toward Russia from many points of the world. It will be a one day war, the devastation will be huge and in history it will be known as the Great Apocalypse, and a new beginning for mankind. There is no land that will be untouched, in the civilized world. It will be the third world countries of Africa and South America that will prevail as leaders in the new world order.

I have news for you that think joint military exercises will take place between Russia and Serbia, they will not occur. Many of you commenting are overlooking the distinct possibility that Putin is having a nervous breakdown. The reason he has not been seen publicly in 11 days is because he is in a mental hospital lying in bed in the fetal position while pathetically sucking his thumb.
