Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, Syria, is there anywhere in the World where US interventionism has been hailed a success?
Just another case of do the dirty, then cut and run.
For the West toppling Gaddafi and allowing him to be cruelly butchered to death was a great idea! The Libyan people must be thanking them on bended knee for the anarchy they now endure. No schools, hospitals, pensions, electricity, water, armed gangs shooting everything up non stop. So much better than the horrid dictator who supplied a relatively liveable life. But hey; who cares.
Pretty soon they will declare another Al Qaeda style Islamic caliphate state in Libya. Northern and western Iraq, eastern Yemen are now declared Islamic caliphate states. Great job leading from behind by Obama, bombing a mostly tranquil country out of existence. We are so lucky Assad in Syria showed resilience and fought back.

Yes let's consider it:
Crimea- normal, peaceful life for everyone
Kosovo i Metohija- drug induced hell hole where Serbs are oppressed, but Albanians who are not criminals are not doing much better as evident by their recent mass exodus
Libya- Terrorist haven since the overthrow of Gaddafi
Iraq- Emergence of ISIS

There will never be a need to go to war over Kosovo simply because the Albanians will leave as they doing right now. No jobs, no prospects and no future. Apart from a handful of senior Albanian politicians the general populations of their brothers will never see a cent of aid or any privitisation windfall.
Russia supports Belgrade’s position in that it maintains UN1244 which means a stranglehold over the Albanians in Kosovo. To be honest the EU no longer sees them as a value. Its only the US that has not changed it stance, but that’s not a problem since Brussels cares very little what Washington wants or does not want.
Russia could not help Serbia in the 1990s since it was broke and if Moscow wanted to avert calamity in its land it had to allow the US to do what it wanted. Russia had to vote in the UNSC according to US desires, but this is 2015 not 1990s where Russia is back on its feet and the US is in the proverbial latrine hole.
Strategically, Crimea is extremely important and its loss has put NATO into the history books. The US blundered again and left Crimea alone too long to its detriment. Now the EU will be at Russia’s mercy.

He does not know that the dollar is stronger on the world market than it has been in decades, or that the Ruble has plummeted to the level that it cost more to print than its value. You still don't get it man. If Ukraine was so important globally, it would have either been completely invaded by the Russians or in total control of NATO. Russia would have been in total war with the west if Ukraine was so crucial to the surviving of the West. Russia could not help Serbia in the 1990s since it was broke and if Moscow wanted to avert calamity in its land it had to allow the US to do what it wanted. Russia had to vote in the UNSC according to US desires, but this is 2015 not 1990s where Russia is back on its feet and the US is in the proverbial latrine hole.
Strategically, Crimea is extremely important and its loss has put NATO into the history books. The US blundered again and left Crimea alone too long to its detriment. Now the EU will be at Russia’s mercy.

Everyone needs to forgive sj, he just awoke after along sleep and has not been able to catch up on world events. He does not know that the dollar is stronger on the world market than it has been in decades, or that the Ruble has plummeted to the level that it cost more to print than its value. He assumes Crimea is some magical land that controls all of Europe and there is no other route from west to east. He has not heard that capital is flowing out of Russia at a rate greater than in the GFC and the Russian economy has taken a nose dive. He ignores the fact that inorder to remain in power that Putin opposition has to disappear. Can they all be assassinated? One minute he says that the US was able to overthrow the Russian puppet govt in Ukraine but the next say their influence is dead.

"Concerning international law and the attention that it has received lately, primarily in relation to Crimea, we would like our Western partners to treat other cases that have occurred in modern history no less diligently," he said.

That's a very fair point. So, which are these other cases where Westerns countries annexed parts of another country or they used a referendum denounced as illegal by the UN to annex parts of some country?

Please point out when in history the Crimea has ever been part of NATO?

But even though it was broke, Russia sent soldiers in the 1990s to Kosovo to help Serbs. But when Russia was powerful and rich and bla, bla, bla under Putin, withdrew the soldiers from Kosovo and has helped Serbs with.... words only (i.e. statements and speaches)!

The strength of the dollar has nothing to do with the US economy, but simply is a by product of it being a world trading currency. Your economy is the same regardless of the BS spin you hear in the media. The best employment figures so far were 295,000 last month, but these are all low paid, casual or part time jobs. The US is 130% of GDP in debt and you need 3.5% to 4% growth per year for the next decade to return to pre 2008 conditions.
Yes the US did try to manipulate the Russian currency but don’t hold your breath in Russia collapsing anytime soon. There’s a better chance of the US going down than Russia. However, what is interesting is that the Chinese economy has slowed down because of the Russian slow down. Asia follows including Australia.
The EU is already in a fix and it will get worse and the best part of all is the US follows the EU. I think even the spin doctors will now mention that they are worried about Europe.
If capital is flowing out of Russia then what the f*** is Exxon and another half dozen western companies still doing in Russia????????????

You still don't get it man. If Ukraine was so important globally, it would have either been completely invaded by the Russians or in total control of NATO. Russia would have been in total war with the west if Ukraine was so crucial to the surviving of the West. Instead nobody cares enough so they have some poor souls skirmish in ditches in some lost villages in the middle of nowhere. Ukraine has global importance only if you are Ukrainian or a Putin groupie. Its great propaganda if you are a Putin stooge. Doesn't mean much in the Western world.
