Kosovo maybe safe for Albanians but not for Serbs who are hunted, beaten, robbed and killed just for being Serbs. Truth is the West does not want Albanians in their midst.

Don't know why he's complaining about why Albanians can't travel freely. If Kosovo were to be given visa-free travel, two-thirds of the territory's population would leave in a week.

How came that few years ago when he hinted for a tax for Bond Steel Base some American media placed information about his involvement to the organ trafficking and after that Pristina shut up about the money ? Also how came that the peacekeepers in KIM de facto turned into NATO occupation troops ? And does he understand that the events in Ukraine leave him no chance that Serbia will be the first to wink ? Time is against his regime so people leave this problematic region. They cannot hear this HALVA , HALVA mantras any longer and seek for a better life. Albanians and the Ukrainians were misguided the same way and nothing of the promised things have happened. So they are disappointed.

After the fall of communism, Albania itself saw many leaving it country to Western ones. Albanians can't create an economy, a society, a legal system. This is why they escape. They need others to lead them. Without others, albanians are just savages that live in lawless systems. Like Albania and the stolen Kosovo are.
The number of albanian people detained in European jails say a lot about this attitude. They don't know what state of law is.

Totally disagree. While other countries from the former Yugoslavia experience some of the same problems they are not and have not experienced an exodus of the magnitude like that seen recently from Kosovo. What makes it more fascinating is the fact that the west chose to side with, arm and train a terrorist organization, the KLA, whose leaders now run Kosovo.

Kosovo is an entity that was built by NATO with the US and Germany leading the charge. This failed attempt at nation building can only be described as a disaster. The west's meddling in the former Yugoslav states of Croatia and B-H have yielded similar disastrous results. All are basket cases, barely surviving with western money. Tax dollars well spent. Nowhere however, have these conditions reached catastrophic proportions the way they have in Kosovo. I think Bill Clinton should replace Hasim Thaci and be forced to run Kosovo until it is a functioning state.

In Kosovo, 40 % of people are officially unemployed. That number might be around 25% in reality, since many Kosovo companies do not officially give work contracts to the workers so they can escape paying taxes and pensions and so on. But still that's a huge problem for us just like it is for other countries who border us. And to some commenters below I want to say that Kosovo people are living normally. You guys in Serbia think that we are living in a dream, but that is not true. Also, the situation is not bad as you think. Kosovo is a safe place. We live here freely with 6 different nationalities including the Serbs. Of course we have those bad moments and "sparks" sometimes , but generally we have no troubles with each other. Those things happen in many other countries. Kosovo is still a very young country. In my city, there are a majority of Albanian people 80%, and the rest are Serbians, Turks, Romes and Gorans. We have no problems or whatsoever with each other. And I am an Albanian myself and I have friends from all the above-mentioned nationalities. I'm sorry for you serbian fellows, but you are really brainwashed by your media, and that's not your fault. That's really sad. Your politics suck and they always did. What Thaçi said regarding "Begüßungsgeld" and residence permits is indeed the case. There were rumors that Germans give both to Albanians. That triggered the mass exodus.

Unwillingly I did "participate" and was witnessing it on the train. The illegals did not even try to cover up them self properly - they just openly walked in into arms of Hungarian and Austrian police. The percentage was about 30%-70%, i.e. about 30% Albanians and 70% Gypsies.

Not sure, the later can read in any language... so just hope they somehow get what Thaçi said.

The Red Cross and railway security guards are totally overwhelmed with the crowd, the trains were completely full. Very few made it to Germany - and who did are by now probably back in Kosovo. We have huge problems here with economy and politics and not enough that, there is that... Orbángutáng monkey polluting the area with his geci... please, stay away from us, we have nothing, but trouble of our own, no need for an import.

Listen my dear Court , Russia cares the western “likes” no more. Besides Thaci to dislike something is a good sign as it means only that the US dislikes it. Ukraine is the south-west Russia where we have been attacked just like in 1941. Only the tools and the methods are different. Now that we took the challenge most peoples outside the Golden Billion do support us. But even if not we would in any case do the job. Those are our lands inhabited by our people so we are to take it whole. We have no choice as we cannot afford leaving even a small Russophobe Galicia out of our reach. Because the evil will be revived in the future to create problems for our children.

Whether or not it's true that corruption is rampant amongst the Kosovar government the worst case scenario is for any government or regime to pursue communism,totalitarianism or dictatorship (perhaps dictatorship can be equated with totalitarianism.) Speaking of communism as far as I'm concerned Kosovo doesn't want to pursue it unlike a nation that formerly was communist and it has a kinship with (Albania.)

I think Kosovo have problems with corruption, unemployemt, with Serbia, with BE too...
They are an indipendent country, but they aren't a "free" country....

They are leaving because led by criminals and robbers, like Thaci is.
Another fact is that albanians cannot create a government, a state, a community: their tribal attitude leading to poverty and immigration has already been proved. After the fall of communism, Albania itself saw many leaving it country to Western ones. Albanians can't create an economy, a society, a legal system. This is why they escape. They need others to lead them. Without others, albanians are just savages that live in lawless systems. Like Albania and the stolen Kosovo are.
The number of albanian people detained in European jails say a lot about this attitude. They don't know what state of law is.

What Thaçi said regarding "Begüßungsgeld" and residence permits is indeed the case. There were rumors that Germans give both to Albanians. That triggered the mass exodus.

Unwillingly I did "participate" and was witnessing it on the train. The illegals did not even try to cover up them self properly - they just openly walked in into arms of Hungarian and Austrian police. The percentage was about 30%-70%, i.e. about 30% Albanians and 70% Gypsies.

Not sure, the later can read in any language... so just hope they somehow get what Thaçi said.

The Red Cross and railway security guards are totally overwhelmed with the crowd, the trains were completely full. Very few made it to Germany - and who did are by now probably back in Kosovo. We have huge problems here with economy and politics and not enough that, there is that... Orbángutáng monkey polluting the area with his geci... please, stay away from us, we have nothing, but trouble of our own, no need for an import.

And sorry for that Orbángutáng, and Putin - I did not vote any of them in the office, they are my biggest shame. The sooner we see both in hell, the better.

In reality he must be so happy that young employed men are leaving Kosovo. They are a potential powder keg that will at some point explode when they figure out that corruption, cronyism, and patronage are the reason they have no opportunities in Kosovo.

I think Kosovo have problems with corruption, unemployemt, with Serbia, with BE too...
They are an indipendent country, but they aren't a "free" country....
And the Kosovo people have realized that for the Kosovo..., it will take a long time to became part of BE, and for this reason people look for better opportunities... I think this is a transition period that will pass...but it will take its time.

It is called 'voting with your feet'.

This is sad. The EU looks down on people from the Balkans, and yet the people of the Balkans are ever hopeful that Europe will help them. The EU and the great powers only helps themselves.

Are you kidding me?! How is that the same?? The population of Kosovo-Metohija has "went" down 10-13% in the span of 2 months! That is unheard of anywhere in the world.

Ari Goebbels doesn't even have enough imagination to come up with a lie that is plausible. It is so easy to verify Ari's propaganda is bogus. It is just another unsuccessful attempt at discrediting the Albanians of Kosova. He should enroll in a refresher course at the Tokyo Rose Institute of Misinformation, located at the bombed out Interior Ministry building in downtown Belgrade. By doing so, he can take his hate of Albanians to another level.

The truth is that Albanians in Kosovo were promised plenty, but the west delivered nothing except misery. The truth is that while some Serbs were responsible for Albanian deaths, the majority were killed by NATO bombs. The Truth is that the west to this day has not cleaned up parts of Kosovo so you still have depleted uranium.
The truth is that official records claim 30% unemployment in actual fact it’s more like 70% plus.
The truth is that Albanians are leaving Kosovo because there is nothing there for them. No work and no chance of ever getting anyone to move industry there. There are two ways of industry opening up in Kosovo.
The first is Brussels subsidises industry – no chance of that happening in the next 100 years. The second is Serbia willing to open branches of industry. As Mercedes is in Serbia, Belgrade convinces the company to manufacture certain parts in Kosovo like during the days of old Yugoslavia. And what do you think the chances are of that occurring?

Whether or not it's true that corruption is rampant amongst the Kosovar government the worst case scenario is for any government or regime to pursue communism,totalitarianism or dictatorship (perhaps dictatorship can be equated with totalitarianism.) Speaking of communism as far as I'm concerned Kosovo doesn't want to pursue it unlike a nation that formerly was communist and it has a kinship with (Albania.)

I thought I'd ask since unemployment may very well be prevalent in Kosovo where some of its citizens are so desperate for employment that they resort to wanting to reside abroad my question is are there any Kosovar citizens so desperate that they want to settle or settle down in Canada or United States even though it's generally more costly to move to North America then other parts of Europe from a geographical perspective.

I can't deny what have you said below.
The Kosovo situation is complex, and i think the Kosovo people will suffer a lot.., but this situation will pass, not matter how much time it will take...
I think US need Albania as much as Russia need Serbia....
And both of them have committed a lot of crimes agains humanity, and you guys still kiss theis butts too.....
I think we have the same point of views in some directions...
But, the "truth" is relative.........
