It is estimated there are "between 200,000 and 900,000" illegal firearms currently in Serbia, Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic told parliament on Wednesday.
I think the point here is the introduction of effective gun control to limit the existence of illegally owned weapons. I am not sure that the suggestion to arm every citizen is really a sensible route to take. Take a look at America, with its "right to bear arms" written into its Constitution. Gun crime in America is amongst the highest in the western world. Surely a well organised and effectively policed gun control policy would be a better way to proceed? For this reason I would say that the government's proposed solution is certainly a step in the right direction.

Every Serbian child male and female from the age of 5 should beging to learn martial arts and become masters by the time they are 16! All Serbian homes should be issued by the government at least one military style rifle with at least one thousand rounds of ammunition!
