They say that every Russian patriot must be under the sanctions. Today Communist Rashkin and famous singer Kobzon both said they were proud being included to the list. Thus the new sanctions are internal affair of the west. What is surprising the sanctions had been delayed before Minsk-2 and now that logically the sanctions should be stopped they are introduced … And it happens each time Russia offers a hand. We care more of the oil prizes that really hurt us. But they hurt the USA more that morally warms our hearts. Last 1000 years nobody managed to defeat Russia because each time they underestimate the price we are ready to pay for the victory. Fish dies without water and Russian dies without freedom. We would definitely fail to live with the wide spread restricted independence that the Europeans try not to notice. An old Soviet song runs - БЫЛА БЫ СТРАНА РОДНАЯ И НЕТУ ДРУГИХ ЗАБОТ !

All major EU and U.S. businesses have operations in China and other nearby nations. The quickest way to fly to China from the EU is by flying over Russia. Russia should create a list of senior western business executives and politicians and diplomats and forbid them entry to Russian airspace. Airlines would be forced to send to Russia a list of all passengers on its planes. This will add several hours to the journey times for these people and they won't like that. German businesses that have Russian operations should not be targeted. The British and U.S should have several hundred people excluded from Russia. this would cost Russia little but cause pain to enemy nations.

You remind me of the late Georgian President Zviad Gamsahurdia … He too was crazy about Russia and said good bye to the reality by declaring a blockade to Russia. Now if you have a good microscope please try to find Georgia on the map and tell me how was he going to block Russia ? Same with you and if your personal vendetta goes so far just imagine how the Europeans will fly to Asia if Russia blocks it’s airspace ? Extra 5500 km will kill all the European air companies and it will replace them with the Asians to enjoy traffic through Russia. Besides I have to remind you that Russia and the USA are the only two states able to make big planes. To say nothing that all Superjet-100 are contracted for 6 years ahead. So stop amusing us with your endless fight against the Russian windmill. Find a weaker sparring partner.

What happens if the Russians stop Arabic or Turkish airlines from using their air space? Back to square one. Most airlines operate on a thin profit line per air ticket so quantity is essential. If you add 5500 kms to their journey most would be bankrupt. The western idiots would have already used that tactic but as Rote said it will hurt them more than the Russians.
I strongly suggest that the EU place stronger sanctions on Russia so then Moscow bans all imports from the EU and then watch the fireworks as the EU plunges into a depression not seen since 1920. In the first week alone the Germans would get 300 000 new social security beneficiaries and by the end of one month close to 1 million.

That was more than a year ago... Now it's less than USD 400 Bln. Unfortunately there is a price for Russia to pay (to the tune of hundreds of billions) for incompetent leaders and foreign adventures.

Forget about it because 400 Bln belong to the Central Bank only whole some USD 170 Bln are in two national funds + USD 30 Bln on the FM accounts + some USD 104 Bln. Were loaned to the Russian state companies and banks. So the total sum in any case exceeds USD 600 Bln. Seek for some other reason why Russia will collapse soon. Otherwise your life will cost nothing because you are composed of hatred and you need enemies like Serbs and Russians. Well, I guess Michael Thomas' idea is that if Russia does that, the West is forbidden to do the same. It's similar to the brilliant idea of the CE of B92 forums sj that Russia can stop the gas supply to Germany, but Russia will expect to continue receiving payment for the gas by Germany, regardless.
