PM says he discussed "gas supplies from U.S."

Serbia "must take care of its energy security" and discussing gas supplies with U.S. representatives "does not mean it is turning its back on Russia."

“Relying on a dictator in Russia for gas or anything really, is not a good strategy for Serbia. Putin does what he does for himself first and Russia second and doesn't think of Serbia when he makes his decisions. The US is the number one producer of natural gas in the world and has huge reserves waiting for shipment.”

Stop using old newspapers instead of toilet paper and wake up ! There’s no other gas in Europe. Volumes in Netherland, Britain and Norway are falling rapidly while liquid gas is too expensive and needs infrastructure. In the USA the volumes are expected to fall this autumn because no new shale cracks are build. So weather you like it or not it will be a Russian gas in a great degree. Follow Putin’s visit to Hungary today as things may start to become clearer. I suppose that the pipe will come there through Greece and Serbia. Anyways forget about the American gas through hostile Croatia as dreams are dangerous because they come true sometimes. Best if you enjoy the “dictator’s gas”.

I didn't know that the US of A exports gas at all. But agreed, being dependent from Russia is not a good idea at the moment.
(Comm. Parrisson, 13 February 2015 14:58)
Actually the US does not export oil, since 1975 oil exportation has been banned to most countries outside the US, in order to reduce the US dependence on foreign oil. Which is why gasoline or petrol in the US is about 1/2 what it is per liter in most European countries. However, it is believed that is about to change and the ban may be lifted.
This is petroleum based oil and not natural gas.

get your energy and gas supplies from your next door neighbor, Hungary, who will be getting their supplies from Russia.

The USA does export gas, whenver Biden or McCain visit Europe. True, it is useless, but it is still gas and both of them can go on and on and on and on forever!

Relying on a dictator in Russia for gas or anything really, is not a good strategy for Serbia. Putin does what he does for himself first and Russia second and doesn't think of Serbia when he makes his decisions. The US is the number one producer of natural gas in the world and has huge reserves waiting for shipment. Poland is about to open a LNG terminal this year to start importing natural gas from the US. Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro should do the same for gas to the Balkans. They could import from the US, Qatar, or any other producer that can ship it. Costs will go down over time and won't be affected by the rampant corruption cost that is included in Russian gas.

For a long time now I have been saying that the US is so full of it that they need toilets the size of 1000 NY trade centres to take all the crap they carry.
Even if this US gas is to be delivered to Serbia it will take until 2060 before anyone in Belgrade can turn a tap to cook a meal using US gas. And if you think this will be cheap then think again. However, there is a greater chance of my grandfather coming back from the dead than this deal coming to fruition.
American pipe dreams. I truly miss the Yanks of yester year as they were honest and had very capable people that had a sense of civil duty even to foreign countries unlike these rats today who keep on waving holographic carrots and not delivering anything.

For 7 years EU washed our brains with the 3-rd Package to appear 2 years after all the agreements were received. They had also made exclusions for the North Stream because it supplies Germany and as you must know 50% of the NS capacities are still not used. They believed they can blackmail Russia with the SS but they now have to eat this sh*t with big spoons. Let’s leave alone Bulgaria as it’s a professional and prostitute when it comes to Russia. But Russian sources now say that Serbia was little better as it also put some obstacles under formal pretexts. I guess because NIS was a part of the deal … Anyways Russia could not afford constructing the SS only because Serbia was interested in it. There must be dozens of factors that had been taken into consideration. And it will be a big mistake if Serbia ties itself to the American project running through Ustasha’s territory. To say nothing that this gas is supposed to be twice more expensive. I don’t know if you are an Otpor Serb or an Ustasha troll but I became very suspicious towards the current Serbian government because they remind me of Tadic times. But the will of the two peoples cannot vaporize so the next government may be more of a radical. And I don’t mean Seselj as don’t trust him either. Today Nicolic is the one who has not mudded himself with anti-Russian steps or statements. But there are other people in Serbia as well and things will depend of the US-Russia conflict developments.

Walter Vuk,
It's not cheaper option, in fact it would be much more expensive, and quantity just isn't there.
Putin didn't just shut down South Stream for no reason, but Bulgaria (pushed by EU) failed to issue all the permits as per previous agreement. Who is unreliable?
Money talks. True. But look at contemporary western civilization ...You can't hear people any more,...ideas...anything at all. Just money!

Ameticans have no gas for sale and that will never change. Fracking is a financial fraud and gas no long term future. Serbia could import LNG from Qatar, but how would it be delivered. A pipeline from Greece, Montenegro or Croatia would take 10 years to design and build, but Russian gas via the Ukraine will stop in 3 years. What will Serbia and Southern Europe do when the gas supply stops? Vucic has no idea.

Screw Russia, i'd say go with USA for gas supply if it's the cheaper option. Putin is not reliable, he slammed South Stream without giving it a second thought. We don't need to keep holding to them and hoping they'll benefit us, screw history and religion, money talks today. Invest more we'll love you more.
