The "Macedonian Orthodox Church" is not recognized by the Orthodox world so in that sense, it's heretic and not a real church. Archbishop Jovan was simply head of the Serbian Orthodox Church in FYR Macedonia and that was a threat to their establishment. Why? Because up until communism, there was no "Macedonian Orthodox Church", all of it belonged to the SPC. So this man who is born and bred from that territory decided to break from the traditions of communism and instead revert back to the SPC and because of that, he was a political prisoner. Glad he's free.

Ari,
The Church of Macedonia/Bulgaria predates the Serb Church by more than 200 years. The Church of Ohrid was established about 1000 years ago, at that time the Serbs were still pagans.
Saint Paul brought Christianity to Albania in the early 2nd century, at that time Serbs were in the Mogilev swamps of Asia and still walking on all fours. Saint Sava was taught Christianity by the Macedonians/Bulgarians who in turn were taught it by the Albanians.

The Serb "bishop" was put in jail for being a petty thief. He should serve out the rest of his sentence and then be deported to Serbia.

The poor Macedonians can not get any respite from the Greeks, Bulgarians, Albanians and the Serbs.

It's the Albanians they have to worry about and here they are burning bridges with other Orthodox people. They couldn't get any more crazy.

When will the Serbian Orthodox Church understand that the Macedonian Church represents the Macedonian people, not the Serbian people or any other people for that matter. They don't need to be recognised by the other churches, they just want to be left alone. The poor Macedonians can not get any respite from the Greeks, Bulgarians, Albanians and the Serbs.
