If Montenego allow this NATO membership to go ahead then there is no brotherhood any longer. What a great shame Montenegro is bringing on itself.
(Peggy, 28 January 2015 23:06)

Well, after what Russia did with the its Slav "brother" Ukraine, no wonder Montenegro is considering NATO membership, otherwise may have the fate of Ukraine. So you can thank Russia about that...

UPDATED,
Montenegro said NO to Russia about the military base.
Good bye Putin , the only place you are welcome is Belgrade.

Well, that's not a suprise. After what Russia did in Crimea, I don't think there are many countries crazy enough to allow a Russian base in their territory.

Nothing like the thought of Russians to concentrate minds in Washington. I am sure Montenegros NATO membership will be on the fast track from now on. So transparent.

I think that Serbs let the US drive Montenegro away too easily. See how the Russians fight for their Donbass lands ! Now if they succeed in Montenegro as well then Serbia will stop to be a sieged fort and it may change the balance on the Balkans for long. Hungary , Greece and Bulgaria may drastically change their approaches to many vital and sensitive issues.

This senator can come again at least he's bought the region some good news at last, instead of depleted uranium. Now we have Russia who wants to invest as opposed to NATO who just want to infest.

Peggy you have a short memory since your serb brothers im Montengro couldn't continue to live in shame in that disfunctional relational with Serbia so they rejected outright your prized friendship.

NATO membership means serbia is surrounded by freedom loving neighbors and Belgade is the target if Greater Serbia re emerged.

No one wants to be with Serbia not even ethnic serbs in Montenegro and even Peggy from half way around the world wanted to completely distance herself from Belgrade's contanmination issues.....

Does this mean that one day our Serb brothers in Montenegro will be asked to kill us?

Why would Montenegro want Russian bases when a Russian MP threatens you with Missiles? Probably not the best way to negotiate.

"Russian Duma MP, Mikhail Degtyarev threatened Montenegro with Russian missiles, if the country joins NATO. Podgorica portal, IN4S, reported a statement of the MP that Montenegro would be “a legitimate target of Russian missiles”, if it would join NATO”.

When this "country" declared itself "independent" it was somewhat obvious that it will never be independent.
They wanted to be free from Belgrade and now they will be controlled by Moscow, Brussels, or Washington, I suppose that's more desirable to them? Then after all you can not expect any of these Balkan countries/entities are making logical or reasonable decisions ever, which of course always delights the big imperial powers.

Europe has a gas problem. Russia scrapped South Stream after the EU made demands. Then to top it off, Russia said it will stop providing gas to Europe via Ukraine and instead will build a pipeline through Turkey delivering gas to Greece and it is "Europe's problem how they will get the gas from there". That is why the new Greek government is getting cosy with the Russians. Europe has not learned from the events in Georgia in 2008 that it really has a big energy problem.
This all could have been avoided if everybody had left Ukraine alone. I don't trust Putin but I don't have much faith in our 'leader's either. "F the EU" after all.
A big storm is coming to Europe once again because of players that want to defend or create empires
