This is where the majority of EU "aid" is allocated in Serbia. Funding ultra-left extremist groups like these that want to continue the communist tradition of de-Christianizing Serbia. Our identity is tied to the Serbian Orthodox Church and we are an ancient European civilization that can never break from these traditions.

Well, are you saying that Serbia's constitution is not worth the paper it is written in? Be caeful what you wish mate because it's that constitution that according to some keeps Kosovo as being part of Serbia :)

How could Jesus attend Easter when Easter is when he died and then was resurrected? Are you saying that he attended Easter after he was resurrected? Maybe you should read the Bible yourself.

Orthodoxy is all about trying to follow Christ's path. I underline the word TRYING. Only God is perfect. In the Bible, Jesus asks a rich, young man to give everything and follow Him, but the guy just walks away. But, after years and years, he finally did. That's what Ortodoxy is all about: trying to get better, trying to find God's mercy.

Please read the Bible: Jesus attended Easter, He taught in the Church, He went to the priests, He prayed in public, etc. Orthodoxy is about what He did and said. Nothing else. Not a single thing added or removed. Inform yourself before you start speaking in public in such matters. You only embarrass yourself.

Whom of the 'defenders of the church' here on B92 actually live like Christ, renounce all worthly wealth and live with the poor and the downtrodden? Whom of them preaches love? Cause that was what Christ was all about. It is not enough to go to church on Easter and Christmas and to stuff oneself at Slava.

The reason why Christianity (or any other religion for that matter) isn't working is because noone ever really put it into practice. Much blood has been shed in the name of Christ.

"The NGO, which earlier this month criticized President Tomislav Nikolic for sending his Christmas message and taking part in Christmas rituals held at the presidency building as "impermissible abuse of the holiday and violation of the Constitution,"

Would these same NGOs try to stop Easter Eggs Hunt in The White House?
How about banning Christmas trees in there too?
Every PM or President in the west wishes happy Christmas to the nation regardless of other religions there and Christmas is a public holiday in those countries too.
So every western country can celebrate it and the president send good wishes to the people but Serbia can't?

This is exactly what happens when a country approaches EU integration. This stuff happened in Romania 5-6 years ago. By now, they are asking the complete removal of religion class from schools. Let me remind you that in Romania the religion class is a confesional one: each person chooses the religion he/she wants to study. Nothing is mandatory, but still they are not satisfied....

In the past the same NGOs asked for the removal of crosses and icons from state buildings. Although they didn't succeed, the trend has made people careful about displaying religious symbols in public.

The same NGOs are now pushing for a recognition of homosexual marriage. As you would expect the EU and the US embassy supports them and has been supporting them all along.

They are asking that the state no longer give money to the Church. For your knowledge, I should point out that the last public census, in 2012, stated the over 86% of romanians are orthodox, the rest are catholics, muslims, adventist, etc. Atheits: 0,2%. That's right folks: all of this fighting for just 0,2%...Less then a Partizan - Crvena Zvezda crowd...

Hang in there brothers!

Why are you giving these trouble-makers from this NGO the oxygen of publicity. They come to our country and then want to destroy our traditions. The audacity is breath-taking. Kick these idiots out as soon as possible, and make sure they aren't allowed back in. Let them go and globalise somewhere else.

Vostani Serbije Davno Si Zaspala u Mraku Lezala Sada Se Probudi! Our Serbian Cival Leaders today carry the torch of infinity of our Sacred Nation. Serbia for ages led by honorable men who carried deep within their hearts the most profound love for our Lord Crucified and Holy in Heaven! For a short time in history, a mere blink of an eye, in the last century Serbia ruled by Satan who tried unsuccessfully to erase God from our Serbian hearts. Today Thank God Serbia again led by honorable men who understand that Serbia and God is one and for ever must be united that our sacred race survive and prosper. A nation with out God is a nation that is doomed! Like a sickness that enters a human body when it is weak, Satan entered the Balkans in the middle of the last century when the continent was weak from devistation caused by the evil German Devil Hitler. Our sacred Eastern Orthodox religion and honorable Serbian history was hidden for a short time in the last century by Satan. Any nation that is led by Satan will suffer and perish! We must all pray for our Serbian Cival and Military leaders, one drop of their blood worth us all fighting and even dying for it! Also our Serbian Cival and Military leaders inside your hearts the spirit of Loving God who is above all and our nation most beloved the survival of the Serbian race! Today in Europe and the Balkans Eastern Orthodox Slavic National Leaders walk on the same path with our Lord. Saint Sava for ever lives in every Serbian Heart!

To the NGO - mind your own FN business! Go to Saudi Arabia and tell them to not teach hate in their schools, and get them to abolish religion, so that they could have a open and secular environment, which would bring peace and stability to the entire world. Tell and teach the middle east and Africa something about Peace, Tolerance, freedom of conscience, freedom of speech and Equality and leave Serbia and the Balkans alone. Your meddling and fomenting of stupidity is what got the Balkans, Europe and the entire world into the mess it is today.

What a perposterous statement by the NGO. Serbia is a very small country and the vast majority identifies with the Orthodox Church. And St. Sava in particular has a very special place in serbian history. To ignore that is just plain ridiculous. Equally silly is the cirtisicm of President Nikolic for attendign Christams celebrations. I assume he is an Orthodox Christian so why on earth should he not attend services?? The English Queen gives us each year a Christmas Address, the Italians i am sure celebrate Catholic Christams openly jus tas the Serbian President should in Serbia.

For me it’s just a matter of time how long Serbs are going to stand the idiotic and heretic “principles” of Brussels and Washington. A couple of years I guess and then Serbia will follow Turkey to say good bye. Then let them have their Charlie and LGBT and all those colonial and satanic restrictions aimed to destroy your economics , your mentality and social peace. Once upon a time we have already been imposed the western version of the history as if the Slavs were backward tribes and the Muslims were our mortal enemies. At least before the 18-th century we weren’t because Ottoman Empire was an Orthodox state while all famous Sultans were Slavs buried in the St.Sophia Church of Istanbul. And none of the battles on Kosovo Polije had religious context as armies on both sides were always composed of the Christians and only of the Christians. Even Wikipedia cannot conceal it. So f*ck the them NGOs and the sooner you come to understanding it the better. Because their true abbreviation should be NLGO ( Non Local Government Organization ) coz most often we can see Uncle Joe’s shadow behind them. Don’t let the bastards to tell you how to live. Sexual minorities like “Joe A” must not tell you what you can do in your schools and what now. At least it’s not what our ancestors were dying for.

Agreed. State sponsored schools should be free of (any) religious interfering. Religion is a private concern and has no place in public schools. The consitution prescribes seperation of State and church.
