Do you envision a need for anything more. As long as res 1244 stands Kosovo is protected from outside enemies by the largest military coalition in the world. At less than 2 million people they could never fight a real war against anyone. Look at Serbia, they are only strong enough to fight small unorganized countries, their military is no match for a real encounter, and Kosovo is about 1/5 the size.
Right now the only benefit for an army in Kosovo would be the same as Serbia, the annual parade looks good.
Kosovo will always be a NATO protectorate even if 1244 should be abandoned. But a true army is like UN membership, basically it is only decorations to make the cake more fancy, neither in reality will change things.

”I see remarkable progress in the security and political situation in Kosovo. But much remains to be done,” Stoltenberg said, quoted by NATO’s website.

Yes, Kosovo is now a secure place for the drug mafia, and the financial situation of the Pristina politicians, their relatives and clan members have improved without a doubt.

NATO is responsible for “capacity building for the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) within its present mandate,” Stoltenberg said.

Finally some clear words about 'Kosovo army'. Fyi: The UN mandate NATO work under says that Kosovo cannot have an army and KSF are lightly armed forces for assistance in natural disasters, in a way comparable to the National Guard (its original intention) in the USA.

General secretary of Nato has said that NATO “has helped transform Kosovo into a safer place and helped make the Western Balkans more stable.” In fact Kosovo is a cradle of uncertainty, of drug trafficking and human trafficking, corruption in highest circles, a boil in the Balkan tissue, a very unstable youngest country in the world, which is recognised by so many countries without knowing even where it is or who was the former owner of the land. And it looks unstable to onlooker by observing barbed wire, tanks and army everywhere. Kosovo paints a sad picture to anyone who looks at it.

So sad, too bad

kosovo have an army? haha, yes please!! The KLA terrorists numbered over 60 thousand, and they were soundly defeated on every occasion. albanias are well known for being cowards. Even if they had an army of a million they would still run like rabbit's and beg others to save their sorry back sides lol
