I'm glad that you have finally realized that only Serbia could give permission for such a thing to happen because only Serbia can legalize its own amputation. I for one hope Serbia doesn't join the EU.

May not be a true statement. I agree that Serbia will not join EU until it ends all claims on the territory of Kosovo, UN membership is still a bit murky.
My reasoning is although the rhetoric is that Russia's stance on Kosovo is in support of Serbia and if Serbia settles its issue then Russia will drop its objections to Kosovo in the UN, that is not entirely true. Russia's stance on Kosovo is actually more a pride issue in the fact that it was impotent to stop the west take over of Kosovo, the fact they had to flee Kosovo due to the fact they could not afford any confrontation at the time, and the fact that the security of Kosovo is in the hands of NATO through a mandate in 1999 and Russia is today powerless to address or change that mandate.
So it may remain a problem in the UNSC even after it is resolved in Serbia. Of course the opposite is true too, Should Russia decide to throw the west some symbolic gesture of compromise that in reality would not affect Russia economically, and could be swept under the rug without much fanfare it could "not oppose" UN membership by abstaining in a vote, even over Serbia's objections and Serbia would not risk alienating Russia by making a huge fuss.

I cannot believe that anyone believes a thing that comes out of Vucic's mouth, in the EU by 2019 he says. He obviously has no idea what is involved with EU accession process, the end of 2019 is 50 months away there are 35 chapters that have to be completed before then, and they are yet to open a single one. So he is saying that serbia will complete 1.5 chapters a month? Even if serbia wasn't bordering on bankruptcy the country would need 50 months just to bring garbage management to a EU standard, let alone hospitals, education and so on. serbia will be lucky to get in to the EU by 2029.

Prime Minister Fishface obviously believes that old saying "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story".

Serbia will not be able to swallow the medicine the EU will require for Serbia to become an EU member. It is a complete waste of time and effort for Serbia to, like a circus animal, jump through the hoops the EU has set up for her. As disastrous an option it is for Serbia to align with Russia, I'm afraid it is the only option Serbia has available in order to survive.
