The international community should provide more support for Serbia. This government has shown itself to be more serious than its predecessors about reforms, with labor law and construction permitting legislation undergoing major changes that will make it easier to do business. The big problem is the massive bureaucracy and patronage system and if the government really tries to deconstruct that they will face a lot of push back - that is when they need a lot of support from the foreigners and a good message to the citizens about common interests vs vested interests. Investors aren't exactly climbing over each other to get to Serbia but there is more interest now that a Serbian government has finally shown some seriousness about reforms. They might climb all over each other if Mr. Vucic and his team show that they are serious about dismantling the patronage system and modernizing the bureaucracy.
