Croatia's new president has said she wishes that Serbia "takes the road toward EU membership," and also "hopes to see the Serbian president in Zagreb."

Yes, Serbs in Croatia are Croatian citizens and Croatians in Serbia are Serbian citizens, likewise in Bosnia. But I doubt you'll ever hear anyone of them call them selves that!

Sigh, Oh boy here we go. Actually your parents becoming citizens are Serbian-Americans, and you being born in the US, are an American. That's how it works. Kolinda is saying that Serbs in Croatia are part of the country. They are the just like Croats. The are Croatian citizens. She isn't trying to erase their Serbian heritage. My god that says a lot about a person who thinks that way. I was born in the US as well. I am an American before anything else. I am just like my fellow countrymen. Not below or above them. Its about unity not segregation. This is the problem with the former Yugo states. They kept referring to their heritage Croat or Serb, or Bosnian or Slovenian, when in fact they were all YUGOSLAVIANS! But of course nationalism rears it ugly head and suddenly everyone grabs for control and claims one ethnicity wants to reprogram the other.
