another thing should not be forgotten when it comes to the Trepca mines: When it was clear that Serbia was going to loose the war in Kosovo and prepared for its retreat, they started digging out the massgraves they had created in Kosovo, and some of the bodies were simply depost of by burning the bodies at the Trepca smeltering ovens and than the remains / ashes were dumped in the mine shafts. Another sick war crime Serbia copied from the Nazis and never payed for. Whatever they couldn't burn was than transported into Serbia in put into other massgraves there or dumped in the Danube river, or lakes nearby. As everybody knows some of the mass graves inside Serbia were found in the meantime and the dead bodies identified as Kosovaars. The remains of part of the still missing Kosovo Albanies (about 1700) are in those Trepca mine shafts, and it is just more than disgusting that Serbia brings up this subject now. That gang of politicans running Serbia nowadays has not learned anything and has no moral scrupels whatsoever.

The PAK is preparing a plan for reorganization of Trepca based on which it intends to announce an international tender for the privatization of the mining complex.

That's going to fail. No international company is going to buy something from an agency that doesn't have the right to sell Trepca. Also with 33% of Trepca located in Northern Kosovo-Metohija, where Pristina does not and will not be able to control. What foreign investor would want in on that mess? Unless it's Madeline Albright or Wesley Clark or some other company of a criminal background, you wont find a partner.

What's wrong? You've ran out of money to fund this nonsense and are looking for more. Over 4 decades of receiving 23% of the Yugoslavian budget in give-aways was too little? The EUR 1.2 billion of Serbian property that has been privatized was not enough? The billions in Western donations since the end of the war? You need more handouts, but have you asked your own institutions where all that money has actually went?

Trepca Mines belong to the natural ,native, indigenous authentic Kosovar historic inhabitants.

There is no way 2/3 percent foreign Slav Serb settlers going to have control over 30% of our natural resources.

If you look at the animation then Balto-Slavic started around 5000 BC and Albanian around 3000BC, a 2000 year difference. So Slavs earlier in the region then Albanians? While Albanian is older than Serbian-Croation, the latter evolved from Balto-Slavic. And according to this theory Balto-Slavic is older than Albanian.
But does it really matter who came first? Hellooo, 21st century.

According to that theory Albanian evolved from Balto-Slavic, which I have hard to believe but let us say so. The problem is, everything that has been built in Kosovo in the last 50 years was built by the Serbs. Starting from roads, airport, mines ... My father was giving 5% of his salary every month to support poor people in Kosovo because they were poor, everyone in Serbia was doing that in the 80s. You can have it all now, take everything, but keep in mind that all you have now is because Serbs built it for you, if it wasn't for the Serbs Kosovo would be like Albania, undeveloped and without infrastructure.

We hear how Serbia did everything for Kosovo, of course out of that 5% he paid, Serbia did not build a road, an airport a hospital, a factory in Serbia did they? Now in this story we hear how valuable these mines were and how much money was generated from them that ALL went to Serbia, so it seems that in reality it was the people of Kosovo that provided the money for everything built in Serbia instead of the other way around. If the money from the mines were spent in Kosovo as should be then it would be far more advanced than Belgrade ever dreamed of.
Maybe its time to retell the story with the truth.

I say in another comment that Serbian-Croatian is younger than Albanian but according to the theory, Balto-Slavic predates Albanian so Slavs were earlier in the region than Albananians. And Serbs after all are Slavs and Serbian is a Slavic language derived from Balto-Slavic. So according to the autochtonous theory of what-his-name and many Albanians including the PM, Slavs are more autochtonous than Albanians.

Regarding your question how it should be settled: the mine belongs to the ones who have current ownership papers and their shareholders. Nationalization is daylight robbery. If you think that the Albanian people in Kosovo would profit, then you are wrong. Profits will go to the ones who would buy the mine and the price of the sale would end up in the pockets of the mafia in Pristina.

Justice would be if you were to pay back all the money that the serbs have paid the last 50 years to develop everything in kosovo. If it wasnt for those money that every serbian citizen paid off their salaries you would still live like in the stoneage.

Actually the churches and monasteries burned in 2004 were rebuilt with funds from the Kosovo budget. So, in fact, the Kosovo government did pay for the rebuilding of those places.

The location doesnt matter, what matters is that the Serbian state owns 65%of the stocks, it couldve been located on the north pole it still would have been property of the Serbian state.

According to UNMIK, the Trepca Kosovo Mine is 66 percent owned by the Serbian Development Fund, 27 percent is publicly owned, 2.5 percent is owned by Jugbanka. 2.5 percent by the Belgrade Bank, and 2 percent by the EPS.

Maybe the perfect solution is that Serbia deduct 5% of what reparations they should pay to the Albanians for the loss of property life and health that they caused and then quietly allow for Kosovo to continue on with the mines and their sale or whatever they decide to do with them.

Another sick war crime Serbia copied from the Nazis and never payed for. Whatever they couldn't burn was than transported into Serbia in put into other massgraves there or dumped in the Danube river, or lakes nearby. As everybody knows some of the mass graves inside Serbia were found in the meantime and the dead bodies identified as Kosovaars. The remains of part of the still missing Kosovo Albanies (about 1700) are in those Trepca mine shafts, and it is just more than disgusting that Serbia brings up this subject now. That gang of politicans running Serbia nowadays has not learned anything and has no moral scrupels whatsoever.

The problem is, everything that has been built in Kosovo in the last 50 years was built by the Serbs. Starting from roads, airport, mines ... My father was giving 5% of his salary every month to support poor people in Kosovo because they were poor, everyone in Serbia was doing that in the 80s. You can have it all now, take everything, but keep in mind that all you have now is because Serbs built it for you, if it wasn't for the Serbs Kosovo would be like Albania, undeveloped and without infrastructure.

I say in another comment that Serbian-Croatian is younger than Albanian but according to the theory, Balto-Slavic predates Albanian so Slavs were earlier in the region than Albananians. And Serbs after all are Slavs and Serbian is a Slavic language derived from Balto-Slavic. So according to the autochtonous theory of what-his-name and many Albanians including the PM, Slavs are more autochtonous than Albanians.

Regarding your question how it should be settled: the mine belongs to the ones who have current ownership papers and their shareholders. Nationalization is daylight robbery. If you think that the Albanian people in Kosovo would profit, then you are wrong. Trepca General Manager Jovan Dimkic underlined that the issue of the legal status of public enterprises, primarily that mining complex in the north, should be put on the agenda of the Brussels talks. According to UNMIK, the Trepca Kosovo Mine is 66 percent owned by the Serbian Development Fund, 27 percent is publicly owned, 2.5 percent is owned by Jugbanka. 2.5 percent by the Belgrade Bank, and 2 percent by the EPS.

It’s obvious now just like the nose on your face that Brussels is making deeper cut backs in aid to Kosovo and to make the shortfall Pristina now wants to sell something it does not own. Mind you its not to the benefit of the locals, its only to fill Thaci’s eta al pockets.
Trepca needs a very large amount of investment in modern mining equipment and you can be assured that no corporation in their right mind will buy then outlay millions when the ownership is in dispute. It’s a dead duck.

There is no dispute here, since Trepqa is on Kosova land. Forget the idea of being Serbian state own mine. This just shows very clearly that ; Kosova is not the cradle of Serbia as claimed till now, but is all about the mineral wealth that Kosova has, and always has been the case.

Some people say Serbia still says Kosovo is a part of serbia so if this was true all Serbia would do is send police and troops to the mines and take them over!

Doubtful as most of the Socially Owned Enterprises (SOEs) were privatized under the auspices of the Kosovo Trust Agency which was created and managed by UNMIK. The KTA was later replaced by the Kosovo Privatization Agency. While individual sales are certainly liable to litigation, especially when it comes to the distribution of revenue from the sales or technical issues with the sale of an individual enterprise, the legality of the process is pretty well established.

My father was giving 5% of his salary every month to support poor people in Kosovo because they were poor, everyone in Serbia was doing that in the 80s. You can have it all now, take everything, but keep in mind that all you have now is because Serbs built it for you, if it wasn't for the Serbs Kosovo would be like Albania, undeveloped and without infrastructure.

We hear how Serbia did everything for Kosovo, of course out of that 5% he paid, Serbia did not build a road, an airport a hospital, a factory in Serbia did they? Now in this story we hear how valuable these mines were and how much money was generated from them that ALL went to Serbia, so it seems that in reality it was the people of Kosovo that provided the money for everything built in Serbia instead of the other way around. If the money from the mines were spent in Kosovo as should be then it would be far more advanced than Belgrade ever dreamed of.
Maybe its time to retell the story with the truth.

Actually the churches and monasteries burned in 2004 were rebuilt with funds from the Kosovo budget. So, in fact, the Kosovo government did pay for the rebuilding of those places.

According to that theory Albanian evolved from Balto-Slavic, which I have hard to believe but let us say so. That means that pre Albanian is Balto-Slavic, which gives todays Albanians the equal right to these areas as the BALTO-SLAVIC people, and not the newcomers serbs! The correlation between todays Albanian and the “old” Albanian is far bigger than serbian and Balto-Slavic. Hell even todays slavic languages are so different to eachother that they cannot undestand one another.

When Illyria aka the Balkan got invaded by the beginning of the first millennium, the Vatican state in Italy was at that time the Encyclopedia and gathered all information. They have no files at all saying that the Albanians came to the Balkans, but they do for Serbs and Croats. So either are they lying and have done some "provokacija" to the serbs or are the serbs as usual lying?

And no, this is not an open nerve at all, but I cannot understand that so many serbs - not only uneducated but also educated and more civilized than the average serb - are so brainwashed and allergic to the truth about the origin of Albanians.

Serbia did contribute in trepca mining complex in ex yugoslavia as much as albanians croats bosnians macedonians and slovenens did .So serbian property talks in this case is getting old

the 3rd link that you brought ,which is also from same author,if you se the language tree graphic ,Albanian language starts more then 5000 years ago and Serbian language is les then 1000 years.
These are theories , after all.
Hard evidences ,original writings,tells us that Slavs came to our region on 7th century.

My question to you is this, what do you suggest to resolve the dispute between Albanians and Serbs regarding Kosova ?
Should we follow historic facts who was here first ,who control it today, or who is more stronger ?

Justice would be if you were to pay back all the money that the serbs have paid the last 50 years to develop everything in kosovo. If it wasnt for those money that every serbian citizen paid off their salaries you would still live like in the stoneage.
