The only sense I can make of this is that our politicians have smarten up and are creating a situation to try and extract some money or concessions or to be fast tracked into the EU. If so, then it is a fair game in politics.
If Daci really believes that we can get Kosovo back, then I would like to smoke the same thing he is. He is not fooling anyone.
Only war and the extermination or deportation of 90% of Kosovo population can achieve such objectives. Or maybe if we were a rich country then the Kosovars would see some genuine economic interests and benefits, but we are just as poor as they are and we hate them, so no chance of living together ever.
On the other hand, I see no chance of Kosovo joining Albania ever as although they are Albanians, they don't seem to like much each other. Albania being a more secular society whereas Kosovars are more religious, the language is not very intelligible to most south Albanians, their mentality and lifestyles are not very similar. There are way more similarities between us and the Croatians then between Kosovars and Albanians. If we can’t live in a single state with the Croatians, why would Kosovars live with the Albanians in a single state? Those are political projects and as such it won’t happen because there will be 50% less politician jobs all of the sudden. What politician will vote to lose his job? Unless some uniting political figure is born, but that is a very long shot imho.
Many Serbians hate Albanians and vice versa and Belgrade still wants to keep Albanian land. I really don't understand their agenda. Also, Kosovo is Europe's most poorest country, so why does Belgrade want a poor country? Belgrade is better off just accepting the independence of Kosovo and stop wasting their time on a small country that probably doesn't give Serbia any economic strength or any strength in any important areas. Well, all I can say is good luck to Belgrade.

One morning it is the EU is saying Serbia must recognize Kosovo to join the EU, by afternoon it is saying the EU is not saying that but it says Serbia must sign agreements of "neighborly relations" by supper time it is Serbia will never give up on Kosovo and then by bedtime it is we will not give up on our EU path.
Regardless of the time of day, if there is anyone who thinks that Serbia is going to join the EU and have Kosovo, you have my sympathies and I hope that the person who feeds you your meals is kind.

Yes, the international community wanted to keep their illusion of their 'multi-ethnic, democratic Kosovo' alive. They are not willing to realize that this didn't work, doesn't work, and won't work, that Kosovo is based on ethnic hate, from both sides.
A partition along Ibar (i.e. along ethnic lines), with the north staying within Serbia and the south joining Albania, would have been the far better option, on the long run, instead of pumping billions and billions into the corrupt stillborn called Kosovo.
Between rhetorical statements of "Kosovo is Serbia", there has been an obvious effort to partition Kosovo at the Ibar from as early as 2000, which means that left to their own devices, Belgrade would have abandoned everyone south of it for the sake of retaining the north. If it wasn't, ironically, for Ahtisaari empowering Serb municipalities (existing and newly created), there wouldn't be any Serb presence in large parts of Kosovo. It's only this and the persistence of the international community that pressured Belgrade to abandon partition in favor of what it's now supporting through the Brussels Plan.
As for Thaci, I don't worry about his occasional off-cue musings to the lesser intelligent members of his constituency. He's been thoroughly housebroken and trained to do whatever the US and the EU wants, and is single-handedly the one person who ironically empowered Kosovo Serb communities by doing absolutely nothing to follow up on threats and boasts that are little more than rhetorical.
If he needs to blow off steam on his Facebook page, let him do it. I'm sure he's gotten enough ridicule from Albanians who've had enough of him and see him as little more than a sock puppet for the international community. As much as I think the guy's a war criminal, he's done a lot to appease his would-be accusers and disappointed a lot of his former wartime comrades.

Nikolic, Dacic and Vucic know very well that there is not going to be any negotiations for the status of Kosovo as it is done deal for 90% of EU members and 110 countries of the world.
