Of course, Serbian domestic oil and gas resources were part of the great Gazprom deal - you remember, NIS being sold to Russia, without a public tender, for some peanut millions far below the estimate value. And, of course, the South Stream deal was not at all connected to this, so Serbia don't even get compensated for this project canceled by Russia.

This is incredible...poor Serbia

Serbia doesn't need that gas nor money from Russia. The mere thought of Russians considering Serbs friends is enough.

With friends like Russia who needs enemies!

That`s why the Balkans deserve to be like it is now, slaves of the others. Since the times of Otoman Empire the Balkans leaders prefered to fight against each other rather than fight together for common interest.

In the Balkans the most common wish is not one`s self interest but the suffer of one`s own brother/neighbour. That`s the reason why the Balkans has never been master of it`s own destiny.

But don`t worry each time that some Big Shot will want a (bunch of) war/s (for profit or just for fun) the Balkans will be ready any time, Serbia the first.

Our family affairs have chronology of centuries so as the Russians say СВОИ ЛЮДИ – СОЧТЕМСЯ ! In the Borodino Battle of 1812 we were missing the two Russian armies. One was fighting the Iranians while the 3-rd army stood in Serbia and Bulgaria. But the truth is that troops under the command of General Miloradovic stood firm in the center of the Russian frontline. It helped us to set Europe free and grant statehood to countries like Italia ( Luigi ! ). It was always this way and each of us two did what he could. In 1941 the Cetnics of Drajko Mihailovic granted us another peaceful month that played a big role during the defense of Moscow . In 1945 some 70 000 Soviets and Serbs were awarded Medals for Liberation of Belgrade. In 2014 new Cetnics fought in Donbass near Slavianoserbsk ect. ect. ect. How do you think can the Russians exchange such a brotherhood for gas ? One must be a finished idiot to think so ! I know that many bastards of the Earth would like us to split but even the two great Josephs failed to. So please stop being a bast*rd and I’ll definitely pe* you as much as you say.

Nice stories about the Chetniks and history from the 19th century. But the article was about Serbia was giving it's domestic oil and gas resources away in the 21st century and getting ripped of by Russia.

Yes NIS was very likely sold as a package deal but it was rather long ago when no one doubted the SS project. Today things have changed and formally Serbia must have lost underestimating NIS. But as a Russian saying runs НЕ ИМЕЙ 100 РУБЛЕЙ , А ИМЕЙ 100 ДРУЗЕЙ or at least one good friend like Russia. So I am sure it won’t take Russia long to compensate the underestimation of NIS. Just be patient and be sure it’s not only a Serbian problem but a matter of prestige for Putin for Gazprom and Russia. Temporary propagandistic effect of those who use NIS as a pretext for their Russophobe and Serbophobe statements will evaporate before the fall of the year.

of course in balkan everything is own by outsiders, balkan people the only thing the own is HATE and ready to be unleashed to each other JUST SAY A WORD and they will atack faster as a doberman will do..VERY VERY SAD...
