What is it called when you have 2 people and one has money and one wants it, and the one wanting it tells the other what a wonderful person they are and how much they like them. I get the vision of a scantily dressed woman and a business man in a suit. Don't they call that the worlds oldest profession.

Diplomaticus,
though your general comment is well written and sound, you seem to have hit a ethical snag. somehow you consider china's pillaging of resources from places like africa differently than the centuries long pillaging the west has done in places like africa, south america and the middle east. the wealth of the west is predominately based upon their accumulation of someone else's resources, and various slimy politicking. china is no better or worse in their western styled approach to accumulating wealth, power and nationally strategic resources.

Serbia has a true friend in China, and that's been apparent for many years now. Serbia's neighbors have their hands out to the EU hoping for a few crumbs to fall of their table and beyond that, Serbia's neighbors have no relations with the great countries of the world such as China.

Sorry to wake you up and shatter your dreams, but according to China your statement "Serbia's neighbors have no relations with the great countries of the world such as China" is a LIE.

That's because according to China there is a profound traditional friendship and sound mutual political trust between China and Albania, for example, unless, of course, you don't consider Albania as being one of Serbia's neighbors.

Yes China is important, but it cannot replace the West, as some in here claim. I got news for you - Albania tried 40 years ago, got e few billions and still ended up poor by 1990. Everyone makes mistakes, but the smart people try not to repeat the mistakes of the others.
What, now Russia is not anymore your best friend? When John McCain said: "Look, Russia is a gas station masquerading as a country. It's kleptocracy. It's corruption..." friends of the Russian oligarchs in here were furious. I say oligarchs because you are not friends of the Russian people or the Ukrainian. In fact your real friends are few and far between and you should make an effort to change that. Moscow is the most expensive city in the world, with the greatest number of billionaires, but Russian men life expectancy is less than 60 years, lower than Africa. That's what you want? Even Belarus is ditching Russia and just imposed an embargo because of a trade dispute. They practically stole your NIS and you still expect them to single handedly help you?
China is not doing better in Africa. Yes it is involved in infrastructure projects, but is practically stealing natural resources as well.
Yes China is important, but you cannot change geography and geopolitics. If Russia is brought to its knees, what makes you so confident?

Serbia has to go all the way to China for friend when the fact is none of its neighbors are friends at all .
(Kralj Vatra Pyssos vlacho-Albanian, 17 December 2014 22:17)

LOL Serbia's "neighbors" are nothing but recent settlers on stolen Serbian territory. The same people who consistently leach themselves to which ever empire comes through the Balkans be it Ottoman Empire, Austro-Hungary, Nazi Germany or NATO. All the while Serbia is the only one in this "neighborhood" that stands up to imperialism.

Great to have Serbia finally focusing on China instead of the useless obsession with Russia, which is merely an oil and gas producer with nothing else to offer. Serbia should stay close to China and U.S. while joining the EU, where we will be part of the richest market in the world. If we can increase workers' skills and productivity and reduce red tape and corruption, Serbia can sell more to these countries and get more investment from these countries.
