I wouldn't be surprised, unfounded speculations and bizarre conspiracy theories instead of facts and information are part of the media in Serbia, unfortunately. Even worse is the Serbian politicians even comment those nonsense spread by media.

So: There are no new conditions, but the existing ones. The only 'obstruction' of Germany is that it insists on 'implement what you agreed about in Brussels' before opening accession chapters with Serbia

Simply bizarre how this topic is spun by the serb government and parts of its media, but it also reflects the way they work and try to manipulate their own citizens. So, all this has been known for a long time, but kept from the serb public, and now it is the 'evil' Germany which comes with 'almost impossible to fulfill' demands. Serbia is making a fool of itself if it acts that way, and will further alienate the entire West. Certainly not a way to make friends.
The country needs to go through a reform and cleansing process all the way from the bottom to the top if it ever wants to become a member of the EU. These old tricks it adopted during the Milosevic years don't work any longer, and it is hard to understand that the serb public still puts up with it. A whole entire country being lied to by its political leaders, and a press that goes along with it without much protest. It is time Serbia fianlly wakes up and people take matters into their own hands again.

One of the few times I have to agree with you. The points put out in Vecernje Novosti were too sensationalist to be believed, especially since the "conditions" envisioned Pristina to be an organized, empowered, and fully operational power structure throughout all of Kosovo, which completely contradicts the compromise arrangement made since April 2013. The Cold War era-looking brick buildings at the "border" gave away any credibility.

Vecernje Novosti is famous for, during 90s when hostilities were starting in Croatia, reporting on the front page that the Serbian priest got is throat cut and slaughtered, on page 3 saying he was in a coma, and on page 8 punishing an interview with him. Not much has changed since. VN is the paper for DSS types- Lots of sob-stories about how Serbia is hard-done-by and how everyone hates Serbia and how sad and hard and awesome it is to be Serbian.

We all know that People will be very busy at this time of the year, and Many European Politicians, Bureaucrats, and High Officials will be on Holidays, and so Serbia should not speak to the European Union on this matter until after Serbia's New Year, because this will be a more convenient time for the European Union.

Well, it is not only the media. It started with Nikolic, the head of the state known as Serbia, who said that "Serbia must recognize", and the media followed him. If I were into conspiracy theories, I would say that it is highly likely that Nikolic is a Russian tool :).

Balkan anthropologist has consistently misrepresented the Brussels agreement since it was signed. Brussels explicity calls for a uniform system of government throughout all Kosovo and an abolition of any Serb self government. Serb judges must go by pristina law and all Serb judges rulings can be overturned by pristina courts. The only role Serbs play is enforcing Albanian passed laws in Serbian majority communities. All education health etc must be in line with pristina law. Pantic didn't sign the loyalty oath to pristina but rakic did. All Serbs elected must obey pristina.

Brian has consistently not read the Brussels Agreement since it was read and decides to make stuff up on his own. But his delightfully clueless approach to the whole thing does bring a chuckle or two now and again.
