That's very simple... Because Putin is not the president of the European Commission so he is irrelevant in regards to what the agenda of discussions of the European Commission is :)

Hey little Albos can you answer why will the “ European Commission will continue discussions on the South Stream gas pipeline despite the announcement of Russia that the project was dead’? Putin said it was finished? Surely the EU can obtain energy from other sources? LOl

With intellect like this, why aren't you president of Pristina? Maybe you need to kill someone with your own hands first.

Did you read the article? What does this have to to do with Serbia? It's the EU that after only 24 hours is asking Russia to come to the table and negotiate so the South Stream can go on. Not because they want too believe me they don't. The free market may just be too powerful for the energy sector for these central planners to have their way.

LOL! Sounds like denial to me. Russia has scrapped the project due to constant EU obstacles. The EU tried to punish Russia but instead punishes EU candidates and members. Putin once again out manouvers them with a pipeline to Turkey instead.

Just curious why Nord Stream, the pipeline to Germany went so smoothly. How does that differ to South Stream? Is it that Germany removes obstacles for it's own interests but then uses Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, etc... as pawns in a chess game it is losing?

This is sad for Serbia and a disaster for the EU. Who in their right mind puts obstacles in the path of major investments? All sensible countries/regions do backflips to clear them. All fingers point to the EU.

The unelected European Commission surely do not want the South Stream to go ahead, but they may not have any choice. They have tried to obstruct progress by meddling with the market, but it may appear that the market is too strong for these central planners to get their way.

The people living EU are dealing with a host of other problems. Huge social tensions. Mass immigration to the north, austerity in the south. The EU simply cannot afford another option for their energy needs, believe me, their leaders have tried. And they may have had an easier time trying to obstruct the South Stream had there not been so many other problems with Europe right now.

It looks as if Putin wasn't lying when he said the EU will beg. And it didn't even take 24 hours.
