There is very little difference between those parties, but with the help of the media they look like they are miles apart. We have an identical system in Australia.
(sj, 8 December 2014 07:44)
You are true on one front, BOTH parties and the Australian govt supports an independent Kosovo.
Curious as to which countries you can name that the "rabble" actually run the country. It is usually the land owners and people with some money at least that can afford to take the time from their families and earning a living to get involved with politics-in any society.
We can argue about the intentions of the fore fathers all you wish but what is written in the constitution is concrete and you cannot quote anything in there that even comes close to supporting your lies. Just admit it you made it up and move on, just like most of the "facts" you possess.
I will choose the US system of govt over any other anytime, as a perfect system does not exist.
I see you answering a lot of fan mail on here lately, you do have quite a lot of time on your hands, don't you, maybe you should consider running for office.
By the way, I worked with a bunch of Australians at the embassy in Iraq a couple of years ago and they were a great group of people.

Donate funds to their elections campaigns?! They aren't stupid! What would the purpose be to donate funds to their election campaigns - that's a meaningless exercise. They donate the funds directly to the bank accounts of the Russian and Chinese leaders.

My dear fellow I know what democracy is, but I think you are confused. The founding fathers had that intended so that only landed gentry could attain high office since they did not think the rabble was capable of running the country. There were no poor people amongst the authors of the document. It’s a fact that even your most eminent historians have admitted to.
The political system in the US is called democracy, but in fact it’s not. It’s a guided democracy and that means you are pointed in the right direction by the media who to vote for i.e Republican or Democrat. The education system instils in you that the system you have is democracy. The Italians are closer to democracy than what you have because real democracy means more than just two parties. What you want is called representative democracy and you will never get it in the US. If you try, Ferguson will look like a picnic compared to the force your government will use on its people.
You have a system that has created near identical parties, or as Gore Vidal said one conservative party with two branches. There is very little difference between those parties, but with the help of the media they look like they are miles apart. We have an identical system in Australia.
The US is just as or maybe more corrupt with only 2 parties as the country which has 100.

Stop writing lies and BS and you would get your wish, but then again you would not have anything to post if you cut out that would you, other than your insults.
No you specifically said that they put it in the constitution that only people of wealth could run for office, I gave you what restrictions the constitution does give for running for office. It may or may not have been what they believed but the fact is they did NOT incorporate that concept into the Constitution of the United States.
You apparently do not understand what a democracy is, the leaders are elected by a majority of the people, should a third or fourth party gain a majority of supporters then they would gain control. We do have individuals that run as independents that do get elected to congress.
But the US is unlike those great democracies like your Serbia where you have a 100 parties and then following election the major parties meet behind closed doors with the smaller ones promising positions and money to creat a majority. I think a lot of people like to call that political corruption instead of democracy.
You get your info on the US from anti-US rags and just creating it, and I get mine from primary, secondary and college studies along with living within the system for my entire 50+ years.

However, since you see it differently how many parties other than Democrats and republicans have held power in the last 180 years? I assume you subscribe to the theory that the US is a democracy so there should be at least once or twice in the last 180 years where another party has won office.

One thing about it no one can claim you do not have a vivid imagination. The only problem you have lived in this imaginary world so long you can no longer distinguish between truth and fiction.
Well the above post is nothing but fiction. There is no such writing or clause in the US Constitution.
Maybe, if you were to actually read the constitution you might see the difference in the US and Russia, or the west and Russia.
For anyone who cares to be a US Representative you must be at least 25 years of age and a citizen of the US for at least 7 years. To be a Senator you must be at least 30 years old and a citizen of the US for 9 years and you must be a resident of the state you represent at the time of election. In order to be president you must be at least 35 years of age and a natural born citizen of the US.
But you do not have to have any amount of wealth for any of these offices, nor own any land. Don't know what anyone could expect to gain by telling a bold face lie to say you do, but I guess it establishes the credibility in everything else they say. Is it true of BS, 99% of the time it is the latter.

They may have 100 years ago (but I doubt it) but today that will never happen as it’s an illusion. In the US the political parties rely on funding and that funding comes from corporations. Once again I state I am not an economist, never have been nor have I studied economics. Since you have been to boardrooms you would know how it’s done. For Corporations to commence a project “all ducks have to be aligned”. These companies do not wake up one morning and decide that it’s a good idea to borrow billions to build a pipeline without getting all the right approvals from governments. The building of SS was approved by various governments well in advance. This is only Brussels now playing games. Now Russia has declared its abandoning SS the EU countries will start screaming at Brussels and to cut a long story short, SS will be built – its all agame.
However let’s say that the coprs did not get approval then the next move is to go to Brussels and seek to offset for their losses against present and future profits. Whichever way they will clean up all at the EU taxpayer’s expense – its called a win win scenarion. Remember corporations own politicians.

pre 9 godina

I'll give you some context here, the SS pipe line was in the works since 2007. In 2009 the EU suddenly changed its rules which were retroactively applied to SS (but not to North Stream which supplies Germany) which would have meant that Gasprom would have had to share the pipeline it had build. Russia was contesting this in the WTO which accused the EU of violating international norms. Then in January this year the Bulgarian government announced that it was suspending its portion of the project (interestingly this came just after a visit from a delegation of US senators including John Mccain and enormous pressure from the EU). This blocked the pipe line and there was no reason to spend billions building a pipeline under the sea only to be useless at the other side. Putin has called the EUs bluff and is now going to build a new pipeline in Turkey with an agreement from the discredited and desperate Erdogan, further splitting the Nato alliance and maybe getting a deal to leave Syria alone.

"By the way China is the no. 1 economy in the world so what do you think will happen if it goes in a recession???? What the west will have a force field of made of freedom and democracy to avoid this problem?"
One of the most humorous statements you can make, as one a couple of years now everyone has asked (when you boasted of how the US was going to collapse) did you think that China and Russia were immune and you claimed they were not dependent on US and would only turn to the east.

" Recently in the US the Democrats lost in both Congress and the Senate. Why??? "
I would have thought that a learned person as yourself would see that over many presidential terms, as a president enters the end of his term, the power of congress shifts to the opposing party. Thus the term lame duck president.
" Joe Stiglitz, a Nobel winner in economics was in Sydney in August and he was saying the US is in serious trouble."
Suddenly, the term "Nobel winner" gives a level of credibility in your eyes but I did not see that with other winners such as Obama and Ahtisaari.
I don't deny the problems in America, but I say we can work through them.

Your claims of how the workings of Serbia and Russia work and that Serbia would be able to turn on and off the oil to Europe at a personal whim (with the blessing of Russia) has only shown you know nothing about how international politics and economies work. But what you define as "normal" is something Serbia needs to steer far away as possible from. For you, heroin routes and harvesting organs is "normal" as long as the organs are Serbian. I don't believe in the whole "historical alliance" thing either. There is no true friendship with any governments of the world. That said, Russia had every intention to build the South Stream Pipeline when it purchased NIS and only recently that has been side-tracked by the problems between Russia and the EU.

Russia didn't "choose" Turkey over Serbia lmao learn your geography you simpleton. Serbia is in southeast Balkans and the pipeline has to come from Bulgaria and go onto the EU countries in order for South Stream to work. How the hell is it going to come to Serbia if the EU central commission has forced its member vassals not to participate? Perhaps the most sane comment here amid all the triumphalism and chest beating.

It is indeed bad news for Serbia no doubt as the Government was factoring in the revenues into the national budget. I think this will reinforce minds in Serbia not to put all its eggs into one basket (Russia) but spread it out. It will also enable Serbia to explore alternative energy sources such as renewables.

As for Serbia, my old man says it best, two feet, one in the West, the other in the East. Maybe the locksmith from Kumrovec was right.

Zoran

pre 9 godina

Amazing how many Albanian trolls are here today trying to spin BS. Russia has secured an energy agreement with Turkey, it's second largest consumer after Germany. Germany has secured its gas supply with Russia through Nord Stream. Now the EU has messed up and stopped South Stream, so the South Eastern European nations that need the investment, transit fees and energy security lose it because of the EU.

Fortunately, most of the people of the region will see this as an EU problem more than Russian abandonment. The EU has created a disaster for the Balkan economies and energy security. Putin outsmarts them again. Lets see how this develops over the next few day. I think a lot of those people laughing now will regret it soon.

You have not changed a bit since ww2, just use different methods. Food price inflation is perfect because now we can buy domestic products, not the ones we wanted. And we get to buy less, more expensively.

We Didn't want those carriers anyways, thats why we ordered them.

Don't want to sell gas to Europe, we'll sell it to China cheaper and make less. Pipeline wont be ready for 6 years, well store it in really big balloons until then, while we make no money.

We could walk all over Ukraine in 2 weeks. Donetsk airport might take longer than Stalingrad though.

We dont need south stream, we have other customers, to which we have no pipeline either.

Russian weapons are awesome. Just look at that carrier plough through the seas, towed by an oceangoing tugboat, because engines are nazi.

Sanctions are good for us, actually so good we are sanctioning us self too!

Abandoning? More like redirecting. Not that this benefits Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, or Bosnia. The real winner unfortunately is Erdogan's emerging Pashalik whose country South Stream originally intended to bypass. Now with the huge investment Putin has made in Turkey, it gives Ankara even more leverage away from Europe and places possible future dependency on whatever extensions a new pipeline has for Greece and SE Europe at Turkey's discretion.

But what people should really be asking is what's to become of NIS, which was sold off to Russia in anticipation of this project at garage sale prices? Sadly, no one's going to investigate this, and the EU is going to applaud this rhetorical move as a way of stemming Russia's influence in the Balkans, at the same time as it turns up the heat through pipes it secured through North Stream.

Such a putz! The answer is easy as winter is upon us the EU will have a tough time but alternative sources will be found raising the price of gas for those countries. The EU will make sure not to ever be dependent on Russian oil again. Russia currently supplies 30% of the EU demand so it will hurt but will not be devastating. And Russia will forever lose a integral customer.
Russia will by the way suffer greatly with the loss of income(it is going to be years or decades before Asia can come close to filling the void. So Russians will sink to the living standards of third world countries while sitting on the largest oil reserves in the world. As far as other countries Gazprom may be a minor partner but in Serbia it is the major partner, they will make up their profits from the backs of ordinary Serbs. Serbia, stuck as it is in the middle of the EU cesspit, needs to become self-sufficient in food and energy. Food is easily achievable, energy is more problematic, but not impossible. Serbia should start construction of the Djerdap 3 hydro-electric power station which would almost double electricity production. It should expand its coal-burning power generating capacity to make better use of its abundant coal supplies. It should install photo-voltaic cells on every house, school and office in Serbia to exploit Serbia's ideal strategic location for solar power (Serbia is a better location that North Africa because solar panels don't work well when it's too hot.) Serbia also needs to construct more gas storage facilities so that it can withstand supply problems due to ongoing problems in the Ukraine (the crisis in the Ukraine will continue for at least another 20+ years.

In fact even Australia is heading down that path and that is a place that has so far managed to escape a slow down. It’s called a worldwide affect.
All oil producing countries are finding it difficult with falling prices. It’s Saudi Arabia that is causing this to happen and something else that’s not mentioned. The US produces oil from shale which is a much more expensive process and the difference is funded by the US taxpayer and with falling price of oil it’s becoming more and more expensive. That’s the last thing the US needs.

You cannot achieve "independence" by joining the EU. Every member-state of the EU is only a country in name. Nearly all of the economic, social, political, judicial, foreign etc. are made by an unelected central commission dictatorship. The only national gov't that actually matters is Germany which is also the only country to have any benefit of EU membership. So the rest of Europe must liberate itself from this vileness once again. Not only do I not wish this monstrosity for my own country, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

In the 80s, the EU had 40% share of the global economy, today its 25% in 10 years it will be 15%. Serbia is not the looser with this decision, it can only win more independance from Russia, and that is absolutly necessary. Western Europe doesn't need more russian gas, and any future pipline (TAP / Nabuco) will help in decreasing the depeandancy on russian oil. We, all of Europe should make a bigger effort to get away from fossil fuel like gas and start investing in clean and more efficient energy sources like wind, sun, water, etc. That's the way to go.
For Serbia this opens the door to distance itself more from the russian influence and make a step towards the EU. Freedom, independence, rule of law, openness, a better freer press, human rights, and most important peace with its neighbors can only be achieved with the EU, most certainly not with Russia and the current Vucic government. These people have to go, Serbia needs a better and more open government without all these creepy old representatives from its dark past.

Sj,

You're so bad at trying to hide your huge deception and FRUSTRATION !! lol
We all here remember your fantastic enthusiasm for this project which, according to your malaysian secret sources, was meant to give Serbia the leadership in the Balkans as far as gaz is concerned... wasn't it ??!!!

Serbia was supposed to blackmail Croatia every winter and bla bla bla

You were the first to minimize the role of the European corporations in the project, Gazprom being the BOSS and now surprisingly these ones had the leading role and would be the big losers ?? yes, gon on dreaming...

I can only imagine how much Gazprom has already wasted into that project just to get the approval of each European country...

So, dear friend, don't try, as Serbs do since 1389, to convert this slap in your face (by russian brother) into victory ! useless, we all red your comments here !

And as to Putin reducing gaz deliveries to Europe and make them freeze, not worth mentioning it, with oil reaching historic low and russian budget the same way...

The only problem is this narrative has clearly consumed your life to the point you feel obligated to spew racist lies and hatred on a daily basis.

I realize you are retired, and who knows if you will see the downfall of the EU, but for the rest of us, its clear that the EU is in dramatic decline. A Russian province is certainly not something to aspire to, but neither is joining the 4th Reich.

I find you guys so humerous. You found me out.
You guys are like a jackass that found a spinning wheel and doesn’t know what to do with it.
You read in the paper that falling oil prices are hurting Russia and its on the teetering on recession, but what you don’t know is that Japan is already in recession together with most EU countries.
Here is a little tip for you. South stream will be built.

You under estimate Vladimir Putin at your peril and with announcement of cessation of construction of South Stream may have more to do with positioning in the game now being played by Russia and the west.
You have to remember that the major owners of this pipeline are EU corporations that have so far pumped billions upon billions of Euros in the project. These same corporations will now turn on the EU political leadership and demand either a change on the way South stream is being treated or seek compensation which would place the EU budget on an even greater strain. The money involved is enormous.
Putin now has driven a wedge between Turkey and its NATO partners by signing up on a huge trade deal with Ankara, which the US does not like for one minute. In addition, Russia has brought to reality a number of projects much earlier than the west estimated and Putin can issue a take it or leave it ultimatum.
All Russia now has to do is reduce the amount of gas being sold to the EU and industry stops or they freeze. I’ve never seen this level of bungling from the west much like standing on a chair putting a noose around their necks and threatening anyone who comes close they will kick the chair from under their feet. Meanwhile Vlad is saying kick it now LOL.

The cancellation of South Stream is bad for Serbia, but with wisdom and investment Serbia may get closer to energy security. I think EU countries may have greater problems.

Poor sj, he had such high hopes on the South Stream. He thought Serbia would have been able to stop the gas and let Germany, Croatia, and other countries freeze, if they did not comply with Serbia's requests, LOL.

Russia loves to use Serbia to its advantage, but they always screw them in the end. Russia likes to talk about a historical alliance with their fellow Orthodox Slavs, yet Putin just chose Turkey over Serbia because it's easier dealing with fellow authoritarian thugs like Erdogan. Russia has also legitimized the loss of Kosovo by annexing Crimea and using the Kosovo comparison. Russia is only in it for themselves and don't give a shit about Serbia except when it suits Putin's propaganda.
(LK, 2 December 2014 16:56)

Turkey for all its faults is an independent country and signed onto a pipeline deal because they aren't bound by Brussels.

Balkan Anthropologist

pre 9 godina

But again what happens to NIS?

Well, this is bad old news. When you have bad news it hurts less when you have it gradually.

First they said that S.S. was in competition (and had much more advantages) with TAP. When TAP won, they said that S.S. had nothing to do with TAP. And then they said "OK China is now on top priority but S.S. is still on the list". And now... Russia is abandoning S.S. so that E.U. should cry for it.

Willing or not, Serbia has no other way but to go West. The only question is how much painful this turn will be. More stubborn, more pain.

The cancellation of South Stream is bad for Serbia, but with wisdom and investment Serbia may get closer to energy security. I think EU countries may have greater problems.
(Michael Thomas, 2 December 2014 12:07)

Perhaps the most sane comment here amid all the triumphalism and chest beating.

It is indeed bad news for Serbia no doubt as the Government was factoring in the revenues into the national budget. I think this will reinforce minds in Serbia not to put all its eggs into one basket (Russia) but spread it out. It will also enable Serbia to explore alternative energy sources such as renewables.

As for Serbia, my old man says it best, two feet, one in the West, the other in the East. Maybe the locksmith from Kumrovec was right.

The only problem is this narrative has clearly consumed your life to the point you feel obligated to spew racist lies and hatred on a daily basis.

Willi Pfaff

Your perverted fantasy you have thought up of which Serbia has some "dark" past (ironic, a overt Nazi talking about a dark past), while your clients from WWII are the victims is pathetic and laughable. The only problem is this narrative has clearly consumed your life to the point you feel obligated to spew racist lies and hatred on a daily basis.

I do not see any hate against Serbs or Serbia in Pfaff's comments, but have noticed that you seem to be possessed with that person, and you are the one who is consumed with hate against him. You even wished death upon him in the past! That guy does not show any Nazi tendancies, he only tries to show Serbia that it has to change its ways in dealing with its own past, just like Germany did after WWII. That is good advice, but your reactions to him certainly show that you deal with this man in an unjustified, actually sick way. If anybody is full of hate and preoccupied it is you, certqainly not him.

Here is a little tip for you. South stream will be built.

I can only imagine how much Gazprom has already wasted into that project just to get the approval of each European country...

So, dear friend, don't try, as Serbs do since 1389, to convert this slap in your face (by russian brother) into victory ! useless, we all red your comments here !

(sj, 2 December 2014 13:08)
Putin is behaving like a cornered snake, striking out as there is no other way out.
By the way what does this mean to the fact that you have repeatedly pointed out that Serbia would CONTROL the valves of oil flowing into Europe and therefore control Europe?
A song comes to mind---OH Happy Day.....

The cancellation of South Stream is bad for Serbia, but with wisdom and investment Serbia may get closer to energy security. I think EU countries may have greater problems.

Russia are financing every extremist political rightwing party we can find in Europe because we hate nazis

Your claims of how the workings of Serbia and Russia work and that Serbia would be able to turn on and off the oil to Europe at a personal whim (with the blessing of Russia) has only shown you know nothing about how international politics and economies work. You are a nationalist and cannot see past that, you will forever be blinded to what life is really about.

Why do I always have to deal with such levels of stupidity???. Why???
(sj, 3 December 2014 11:44)
I think most of think the same thing when reading your comments, stupidity intermingled with some false sense of superiority.

Asteri

pre 9 godina
