Incidentally, Serbia didn't "brag" about Belgrade being the first Jew-free city (actually, it was the second, but never mind). That was the German high command and specifically Harald Turner. Yes, absolutely Serb quisling forces were involved in the destruction of the Jews but one of the reasons it was carried out so quickly was because the liquidation of the Jews (in concentration camps or through the gas vans) was led by the German military, not generally "the Serbs," not least because Serbia was governed by direct military rule. It was also meant as a warning to the Serb population since many Serbian nationalists, liberals and anti-fascists were also interned in concentration camps. I would recommend reading Christopher Browning's Fateful Months which sets out exactly how and why it happened.

Jasenovac...an excuse for Serbs to ignore the atrocities they committed in the 1990s. 80,000 people killed there. That's not genocide (unless we're referring to the Jews), but genocide did happen to the Jewish people in which Serbs willingly participated bragging that Belgrade was the first Jew free city in Europe.

"Pete": that comment is disgraceful, but entirely predictable since it is precisely the kind of Holocaust minimisation which Croatian nationalists have been engaging in for over twenty years now. The evidence that the Ustasha regime committed genocide is so overwhelming that anything I could add would seem superfluous. But just to make the point that most Serbs weren't killed in Jasenovac or the Ustasha regime's archipelago of death camps but in massacres in villages and towns and the first concentration camp at Jadovno was set up two weeks after the new state was declared. That doesn't happen without planning ergo genocide. It's really disappointing that you feel the need to insult the hundreds of thousands of Serbian, Jewish, Roma and anti-fascist Croatian victims of the Ustasha regime to score petty nationalistic points but that says something about you and absolutely nothing about the victims.

Everything here is a flat out lie. First of all, a million people in total died in Jasenovac. Serbs, Jews and Roma. And that's Jasenovac, the Croats had numerous concentration camps all over Croatia and Bosnia.

Serbia was bombed in WWII by Germany for replacing their monarch Prince Paul who signed a non-aggression pact with Hitler. Germany then directly militarily OCCUPIED Serbia which was met with resistance (The Chetniks and Partizans were majority Serbian).

German occupation was not needed with Croats or Albanians. The Croats had the "Independent State of Croatia" (no Nazi occupation just strong allegiance) and SS Skenderbeg in Kosovo-Metohija.

I do not mind being critised about my posting by someone that knows what they are talking about. In the years I have posted on B92 I have not come across ONE person on the opposing side who has actually worked in Government or private enterprise that is beyond one step above entry level.
ICJ has NEVER posted a comment offering anything but stupid retorts so to treat him seriously would only encourage more idiotic statements. On the issue of me posting on finance, how do you talk to people that have never worked in that area? In all industries there is internal “common knowledge” that outsiders are not aware of. If you work on an advertising campaign, you are aware of the various “tricks” used to get people to buy a product which the average Joe is not aware of.
Ask your US friends how well things are going there. People are working longer and harder and getting less. Now what do you call that? High living standards???? Oh yeah 5.8% unemployment LOL.

350,000 Serbs in exodus? Again check your numbers. More like 100,000 to 150,000. And they got marching orders from Milosevic to leave Krajina.

Seselj's Speeches are empty and nothing more than an impotent response to a lack of ability for action. The Croatian Flag flies over Vukovar just as it does over Dubrovnik, Split, Gospic, Osijek, Knin, etc. and all other cities in Croatia. A testimony to the failure of Seselj and his serbian nationalistic philosophy. Too bad "Vojo". Nothing you can do about it.

Just repeating that he is doesn't answer the question.

Are you trying to suggest that political ideas have some sort of genetic component?

So, if Russia and China can withstand anything for 7 to 8 years, that means that the evil West can withstand anything at eternity - that's so depressing for Serb patriotism! It's all a matter of degree. In today's Serbia, nationalist rhetoric is commonplace and "normal" - endless blather about never giving up "Kosovo-Metohije" and maintaining the apartheid regime in banja luka, etc. every day normal. with a dutiful, docile censoring and self-censoring so-called press. so things are really bad. then you pop in a wack job, sociopath like seselj, w/ high unemployment and total repression of its genocidal past, and serbia becomes all that much more dangerous. bad, really bad.

"Šešelj should be sent back to Hague"

Ivo, First of all it's not polite, diplomatic, politically correct, or most importantly, spiritually sound to tell anyone
what they should or should not do. Usually people who tell other people what they should do don't know how to run their own lives. Most likely because they are so paranoid and busy minding everyone else's business instead of their own. In this case you're minding Hague's, Brammertz's and Serbia's business.
Because no one except the good Lord knows what tomorrow will bring, and the fact that we are all unique and made to follow our own heart's desire, suggests that what might be right for you may not be right for someone else.
Since we don't know what tomorrow will bring, you might could wind up like your two predecessors. And, like the other Ivo, wind up in prison for a spell where my kind of thinking can come in handy to you and keep the wrong folks from falling in love with you. Also, and not far-fetched from what I gather from the voice in my head, if NATO and the EU keep messin' with Putin many of you might wind up in Gulags. If that should happen, some of you might have the fortune of having some Russian Serbs as your guards, who will most likely overlook the "you should" admonition, as they too are known to possess and practice that same arrogant habit.

Comm. Parrisson

pre 9 godina

Josipovic said he warned of the possibility of the strengthening of Šešelj's political activity "and the risk that his hate speech can severely disrupt peace and stability in Southeastern Europe."

That's what Mr. Rusty Spoon Šešelj is best at: Hate speech. Of course hate speech is a crime hard to persecute, finding someone guilty of, for example, ordering killings like Mr. Mladic is much easier.

I heard that Šešelj was released by the Russians, but I can’t get any confirmation.

I hate to burst the bubbles of some of doom day merchants, but this is not the late 1980s or 1990s and no one will dare lift a finger against Serbia this time. Perhaps that is why the little Croats are in such a panic. I have waited a long time for this to start so let the games begin.

Seselj is taking us back to about 1987, when Milosevic started using the nationalism card to overthrow Stambolic and consolidate power by turning Serbs against their non-Serb Yugoslav compatriots. He's hoping that the average Serb in 2014 is so desperately poor and miserable that he can start a revolution against the current regime AND restart wars with Serbia's neighbors, no doubt counting on Russian support. Let's hope Serbs have learned something from their tragic failures in the 90s.

Jasenovac was the sight of over 1 million people killed which simply overshadows anything Croats went through. Jasenovac wasn't even the only concentration camp either. There were numerous of them all throughout Croatia and Bosnia.

The problem is the Yugoslav Communists spent decades trying to equate the Royalist Chetniks with the sick Ustashe terrorists who were all too willing to match the Naizs in their murderous ambitions. Only difference is, the Ustashe took pride in behaving even more barbaric and gruesome than the Nazis. http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Srbosjek

Seselj is taking us back to about 1987, when Milosevic started using the nationalism card to overthrow Stambolic and consolidate power by turning Serbs against their non-Serb Yugoslav compatriots. And that's the problem. Croatian society was never forced to reflect on their blood stained past. That's why they repeated it in the 90s and today we see neo-nazism celebrated very openly in Croatia. Just look at what happened in Italy this past weekend. The Croatian Ustashe tried to light Italian players literally on fire. Organized attempt of terrorism.
(Ari Gold, 20 November 2014 11:00)

Ari is confused and as usual doesn't know what he is talking about. I guess you should replace Croatia with Serbia and than your comment would make more sense and refect reality. But, you have shown over and over again, that you live in a different reality from the rest of the world. What is considered good by any normal human being is bad in your world, and vise versa. You act and talk more like a Nazi every day. Most people here had enough of your hate rampages and your unreflected statements.

He is a Croat and an Ustasha. I don’t give a flying toss who or what games he attends.
(sj, 20 November 2014 12:57)

with this, sj, you reveal how you know absolutely nothing about balkans society apart from the weird distortion of it that exists in whatever Serbian club you visit once every few months.

Just curious, though. Are you trying to say that every Croat is an Ustase just because they're Croatian, or are you saying that specifically Ivo Josipovic is an Ustasa because.. because why again? Just because he's a Croat?

Are you trying to suggest that political ideas have some sort of genetic component?

Josipovic said he warned of the possibility of the strengthening of Šešelj's political activity "and the risk that his hate speech can severely disrupt peace and stability in Southeastern Europe."

That's what Mr. Rusty Spoon Šešelj is best at: Hate speech. Of course hate speech is a crime hard to persecute, finding someone guilty of, for example, ordering killings like Mr. Mladic is much easier.

"Seselj for heavens sake...... Do us all a favour and just jump off the nearest bridge. It's 2014 and not 1939 Nazi Germany."
(Bam Bam, 19 November 2014 12:28)

And it's not 1945, obviously. But why 'jumping off bridge'? His big idol, Mr. G. from Germany, who had as similar job in the Nazi regime, simply took a capsule with cyanide.

The Russians and Chinese have amassed huge quantities of gold for this purpose and Russia alone can withstand anything they throw at them for 7 to 8 years. However, the west cannot. Its broke LOL.
(sj, 19 November 2014 14:06)

Oh, dear, that's such a bad news. That's because even a country like Italy has amassed more gold than Russia and China combined, let alone the entire West. So, if Russia and China can withstand anything for 7 to 8 years, that means that the evil West can withstand anything at eternity - that's so depressing for Serb patriotism! I hope we can find some other measurement for showing how broke the West is so that the most patriotic of Serbs can finally enjoy :)

"the first liberated Serb town which was, without a struggle, with the help of the Belgrade regime, turned over to the Croat Ustasha state," said Šešelj,"

Wasn't Seselj part of that Belgrade regime?

Besides that, I would like to know what the purpose of the speech is? Don't the Serbs have it bad enough already? Does he think the Balkans need more war?

Danilo

I don’t visit Serbian clubs so I would not know what your talking about but I do know that the vast majority of Croats are Ustashi including Josipovic. You cant help it because you were trained by the Vatican to be their attack dogs very much like the Catholic Ukranians, in fact identical. Watching teh start of teh mess in Ukraine I could see the similarities between the “Ukranian nationalist” and Croats.
(sj, 21 November 2014 12:11)

What an insane comment, even for you.

Doesn't answer the question, though. What makes Josipovic an Ustasa. Do you have a single example of his behaviour, a quotation.. anything?

Just repeating that he is doesn't answer the question.

"Which genocide? How about Jasenovac and ethnically cleansing of 350 000 serbs in the last war? Srebrenica doesnt suit the definition of genocide since only men were killed.
(Daniel, 22 November 2014 01:59)"

Jasenovac...an excuse for Serbs to ignore the atrocities they committed in the 1990s. 80,000 people killed there. That's not genocide (unless we're referring to the Jews), but genocide did happen to the Jewish people in which Serbs willingly participated bragging that Belgrade was the first Jew free city in Europe.

350,000 Serbs in exodus? Again check your numbers. More like 100,000 to 150,000. And they got marching orders from Milosevic to leave Krajina. Many had left before Oluja including my relatives who had lived there for 500 years.

If you're not a lawyer, don't give your warped definition of genocide. Srebrenica was THE only genocide committed in the Balkan wars. I don't know what your definition is...maybe if 5 Serb soldiers were killed in combat, that would be your definition of genocide.

While you may think you have created some clever comeback against icj, you come off as some immature 5th grader with a swelled up lip stomping his foot just before running crying to his mommy.
His characterization of you as CE was original but based on your many postings to know more about the financial world and the revealer of secrets that no one else could possibly know.
You should have just left it at that, trying to get even only looks bad on you.
