I’m not surprised that Albos are looking smug but alas lads it’s not what appears on the surface. This has more to do with the EU than Belgrade.

The situation itself is not humorous at all but what is hilarious is the many many many times you have posted that it is going to be a cold winter in Europe only to learn that the chilliest part is going to be in Serbia.
The only lesson here really is that despite claims, the sanctions and reaction to Russia IS hurting Russia financially and "brotherhood" has its place. Also the control that you claimed that Serbia would have over Europe becoming its new master because it would control the on=off valves of south stream have completely vaporized. IF south stream does become someday a reality, Serbia will know that they do not have the power to play with Russian economy.
It also pretty much cements the concept that you know absolutely nothing of which you speak.

Notice we have not heard a peep out of sj or Ari Gold. They must be busy with damage control to justify Russia's lack of compassion for down and out Serbia. Whose side are they on, or are sj and Ari Gold part of the fifth column in Serbia. The least one can expect is for these two not be traitors to their Serbian countrymen, especially when they know how poor Serbia is.

"Down and out", "poor" compared to who? Relatively, yes. But without doubt the most impoverished part of Serbia is Kosovo-Metohija. The rest of Serbia had to deal with sanctions and bombardment meanwhile the Albanian community after receiving generous subsidies from the Communist Yugoslav govt are not getting billions from Western organizations since the end of the war in humanitarian donations. International EULEX mission, UNMIK... and still the most backwards and impoverished part of not only Serbia but all of Europe.

I am under no illusion that the Russian government wants its debts paid like everyone else, but Brussels makes daily demands on how Serbia needs to carry out its foreign and internal policies.

Without doubt the shackles of Brussels on not only Serbia but the rest of the region is much tighter than that of Moscow.

Pfft and the EUSSR "loves" Serbia, right? Their daily dictate and their open demands on how Serbia should shape its foreign and internal policies is all done because the central planners in Brussels just care for Serbia so much! We know how much they care for Serbia as they want Serbia along the miserable path towards the EU in which no country other than perhaps Germany is happy.

Business is business. Albania just recently banned a certain type of flour from their newly settled cousins in Kosovo-Metohija because it does not meet their safety demands. There are no "brothers" when it comes to governments.

But you are out of your mind if you feel the EU has the best interests at heart for Serbia or any nation-state, especially Serbia.

Srbs don't give a good explanation what is going on. Trie to say it is no big deal. Here is a good explanation http://dalje.com/en-world/russia-cuts-gas-deliveries-to-serbia-over-us-200-mln-debt/526712 what is going on.

Anyone who wants to blame Russia for this is mistaken. It is wrong also to blame the Serbian or Russian People. Someone in Belgrade made a political calculation when they neglected to pay this bill and decided to ask for a deferment after recieving the gas.

It was a bad Idea.

How is the Russian Federation going to enforce its debts with others when their friends don't pay on time? Should the Russians run their gas company like a failed Soviet State company to help their friends, or should they run it to make money and help Russia? Putin is not the kind of guy to leave business for last.

The Serbian government has made a mistake that is is very bad for business, and it is very bad for promoting investment. Fixing this aviodable problem should be a top priority.

224 Million! WtF!
Where is all that money? I pay my bills, everyone else pays their bills or the gas gets cut off. So how come Serbia can't pay its bills? There should be a surplus, not a deficit.
Total mismanagement of funds, corruption and embezlement are surely reasons behind this incredible debt.
Either that or Russia is playing games as they do when they need something from someone, in this case Serbia.
The next cople of weeks we'll all be a lot clearer.

One of the options is to oblidge Miller or Novak to go home and bring the lacking money for Srbiagas. Anyways Putin cannot affordf such a scandal and if Vucic does not contact Psaki the issue will be solved over the phone. It's pity that we still know nothing for sure.
