Maybe you should follow your own ADVICE. That was a small part at the end talking about the rumor of rape camps. The article confirmed cases of rapes in 3 areas either on the front lawns of homes while making the family watch, in adjoining rooms, along with ituations where they would stop families trying to flee on the road and tell them if they could not come up with money they would take their daughters and some cases where the Albanian would give money and they would still take their young daughters off and gang rape them.
It was only the rumors of rape camps that was never confirmed at the time by human rights.

No women should suffer this indignity but sadly rape occurs in all wars and Kosovo was no exception, but Serbs did not have rape camps. These were rumours started by the US as part of their propaganda. I am fascinated that Human Rights Watch, which is a group funded by the US government, came out with such a statment to counter the claims of rape camps. Normally the HRW only confirms whatever Washington proclaims.

Given that there was a recent visit to Belgrade I could not figure out what the motivation was behind this. This is my Theory

Because there are no talks scheduled with Pristina while Pristina sorts out the last election, there is no big danger of upseting talks or the EU. Meanwhile with the EU backed austerity plans coming into force in Serbia, and likely Albania, it is very convenient for the government to distract people from thinking about the quality of life in the country.

Regular people, who were poor to begin with are about to become poorer, and the governments of Albania and Serbia are playing tricks on their people.

This is a dangerous game and it should end.

I love the Serbian way of thinking, "unfortunately it happens in all wars" so I guess we should pin a medal on every Serb soldier who committed rape in the name of Serbia, after all they did not set up rape camps. But the confusing thing is that in the article it did confirm that Serbs raped the women in detention centers. I have to wonder if you have a detention center or camp and the women are routinely raped by the guards and soldiers, but HRW does not consider this a rape camp, one has to wonder exactly what their definition is?
One has to wonder the caliber of a man who is outraged over turned over tombstones in abandoned cemeteries but thinks rape is just part of war and it is to be expected no big deal!

In my book rape is the lowest act, but it is a fact that during wars there are few rules and some low life always takes advantage of the situation.
My point was not to demean a person who was raped but to point out that the west used rape as a propaganda tool against Serbs both in Bosnia and Kosovo. I saw and heard the wildest claims being made during the Bosnian war. Once such incident was in Switzerland where the Bosniaks were claiming that one of their girls was about to give birth to a baby resulting from rape by a Serb and the young women did give birth to a baby, but it was black so this was quickly hushed up.
If HRW did confirm that women were raped in centres on mass then I repeat my earlier statement, HRW is only doing what masters tells it. However, it’s funny how HRW never mentioned the numerous incidents of rape by US soldiers in Iraq.

Maybe you should follow your own ADVICE. That was a small part at the end talking about the rumor of rape camps. The article confirmed cases of rapes in 3 areas either on the front lawns of homes while making the family watch, in adjoining rooms, along with ituations where they would stop families trying to flee on the road and tell them if they could not come up with money they would take their daughters and some cases where the Albanian would give money and they would still take their young daughters off and gang rape them.
It was only the rumors of rape camps that was never confirmed at the time by human rights.
Of course I am guessing you actually read all that and just picked that one part to try and make it all seem like a lie.

It is not known whether this was done with the permission of the Serb clergy. This is probably why it was difficult to confirm rape camps existed in Kosovo during the war in 1999. No women should suffer this indignity but sadly rape occurs in all wars and Kosovo was no exception, but Serbs did not have rape camps. These were rumours started by the US as part of their propaganda. I am fascinated that Human Rights Watch, which is a group funded by the US government, came out with such a statment to counter the claims of rape camps. Normally the HRW only confirms whatever Washington proclaims.

In my book rape is the lowest act, but it is a fact that during wars there are few rules and some low life always takes advantage of the situation.
My point was not to demean a person who was raped but to point out that the west used rape as a propaganda tool against Serbs both in Bosnia and Kosovo. I saw and heard the wildest claims being made during the Bosnian war. Once such incident was in Switzerland where the Bosniaks were claiming that one of their girls was about to give birth to a baby resulting from rape by a Serb and the young women did give birth to a baby, but it was black so this was quickly hushed up.
If HRW did confirm that women were raped in centres on mass then I repeat my earlier statement, HRW is only doing what masters tells it. However, it’s funny how HRW never mentioned the numerous incidents of rape by US soldiers in Iraq.

By staying home and saying it is because Kosovo is there, he is only creating more exposure for Kosovo and less for Serbia which causes more diplomats to look at Kosovo as a state entity. He is doing nothing for the good of Serbia.

Well Serbia was a major player in WWI - Serbia had the very first allied victory and Serbs suffered the most losses proportionally. They also won at the end.

The Kosovo flag is not historical and took no place in the victory over the Axis powers.

But this commemoration is stupid anyways - they've already had scores of commemoration events. It is the END of the war that should be commemorated, or allied successes, not the beginning.

And again, there is no historical role for the newly-fangled Kosovo flag. It was the Serbian army which pushed the Axis out.

Unfortunately, it is an open secret amongst the Serb military that many Serbian Orthodox churches in Kosovo were used to rape Albanian girls and women. It is not known whether this was done with the permission of the Serb clergy. This is probably why it was difficult to confirm rape camps existed in Kosovo during the war in 1999. Perhaps this is the reason why particular Orthodox churches in Kosovo were targeted in retaliation during the riots of 2004.

Given that there was a recent visit to Belgrade I could not figure out what the motivation was behind this. This is my Theory

Because there are no talks scheduled with Pristina while Pristina sorts out the last election, there is no big danger of upseting talks or the EU. Meanwhile with the EU backed austerity plans coming into force in Serbia, and likely Albania, it is very convenient for the government to distract people from thinking about the quality of life in the country.

Regular people, who were poor to begin with are about to become poorer, and the governments of Albania and Serbia are playing tricks on their people.

This is a dangerous game and it should end.

President Nikolic should not bother going even if the Kosovan delegation is not there. The room will still be full of liars, cheats, undesirables and misfits!!

This is weird because i remember there as a regional meeting a few weeks ago where Dacic participated and there was an obvious Kosovo flag there.... I think it's a personal problem with Nikolic because Vucic and Dacic don't seem to care but Nikolic is having a hard time transforming his 60-year-old nationalistic rotten mind into a modern one. I'm not Albanian, but common, just go and ignore the flag, i mean, think about it.... in Rio2016 Kosovo will participate in the olympic games, will we boycott it then? Let's be rational. Either way we are never getting Kosovo back and frankly, do you really want to have a southern province with a crazy bunch of 1.6 million Albanians? 18% of the population of Serbia will be Albanian in that case!!
