Serbia should be apologising!!! they are the ones that didn't want any Albanian supporters in there stadium! The serbiian fans were the ones that jeered at the players screamed over the anthem and hymns. They were the ones that threw flares and rubbish on the pitch and lets not forget they were the ones that ran on the pitch and attacked the players!
some stewards joined in. there are photos.
The police didn't care
if it was in England there would have been no way the players could get past the stewards.
the players had to run into the tunnel to get to 'safety' even though they still got beaten by stewards inside the stadium away from the cameras. as soon as they arrived in Albania that was the first thing they said
Where was ivanovic then? the cameras were off so of course he didn't care.
hes a serb. all serbs hate Albanians no matter how famous they are.
The war only ended 15 years ago UEFA have no right to say it should of been about football not polotics!! do you really think if the Albanian players had been 'the better person' and left the flag because it was only about football that night it would have been remembered? for a couple years probably but Serbia would have destroyed the flag on the pitch right there and never let us forget. No one pn that pitch was thinking about football they were all thinking about their honour and politics. Nothing was about football that night right from the very beginning. the Serbian fans made sure of that.

pretext to ruin the game by Serbians. I wonder what would have happened if Albanian team scored a goal first.
(Alban, 17 October 2014 10:17)

I don't have an answer for your question. But did you ever wonder what would have happened if NATO didn't show up in Kosovo*??? Ponder on that for an hour or so. Now wonder for awhile why the West is partnering-up with past foes in order to stop something that you are fast becoming (a huge problem). Now ponder some who is going to give you an attitude adjustment, the same West that saved your ungrateful and worthless behinds or your neighbors? Who is going to be your ally? Turkey? Albania is Turkey? LOL
Did you ever wonder what this guy would do if Turkey attacked Serbia on her own?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrVjpjebIZo

That is something that you dirty animals have been doing for the last 10 years, burning churches and monesterys, torching houses and killing Serb children and civilians. Throwing stones at Serb children going to school on a daily basis and the list goes on and on and on and yet YOU butchers, of all, have the nerve to come here and say anything? This is nothing, payback is yet to come for all you have done. You are the ones always playing the victim card, YOU started with the provocation and what the hell did you expect? What do you think wouldve happened if this happened in Tirana?

looking from where I live, if you take all the balkan peoples, no one would be able to tell which one is serb, albanian , croat, greek, etc. They all look the same.
I wish the players on the field would have gotten hand in hand around the field showing that they don't approve what their fans were doing.
I wish that game would have brought together Serbia and Albania.
I wish that one day Serbian people can go and relax on the beautiful Albanian beaches and Albanian people can spend their money and have fun in Belgrade restaurants.
I wish that both Serbia and Albania can cooperate and improve the lives of their poverty stricken people.
I wish for the day when there wont be borders between balkan peoples and they could live in peace and harmony together.
May Lord grant my wishes.

Good for you Bekim. if I were in you, I would avoid Albanian bakeries these days however. You shouldn't let people know you are Albanian either, your coworkers seem nice, but it seems the hooligans rule in Serbia these days, so be careful, they may think your presence in Novi Sad is an attack on Serbia.

I'm Sorry

pre 9 godina

The apology should go something like this.
I apologize on behalf of my country men, that at a time when Serbia is trying to show the world they are Holier than Thou, and are the true peace makers of the world, that someone of Albanian Ethniticity(maybe)
caused a reaction that pulled the cloak away and exposed the Serbians true nature and character to the world.

My friend, the important ones are what the Albanian team are charged with. The Serbs offered to empty the stadium and continue the game. The Albanians refused. They should be declared the losers in such case. Serbs should get a fine for the minor things they were charged with.

Alban

pre 9 godina

The Serbs treat the event like everything was cheerful and wonderful during the game until the non-official flags started to fly above the stadium and ruined the game. The fact is that the game was ruined before it started. The insults of Serbians toward Albanian team and hymn was incredibly rude. There were flares thrown everywhere in the pitch. I don't support the "Great Albania" flag, but it was just a pretext to ruin the game by Serbians. I wonder what would have happened if Albanian team scored a goal first.

get over it every game they play they cause trouble look what they did in italy then with the UK team england now with Albanians seriously you serbs have issues with everyone its about time you all paddle down the danub river slowly back to f,, Russia siberia where you all belong! Have a nice fkn day!!

Denis

pre 9 godina

So waiving an Greater Albania flag is a provocation, but chanting for 50 min "Ubi Ubi Siptari" is not?

Who provoked Serbs in Genova in 2010 against Italy, a game abandoned due to Serbian fans hooliganism?

Let's say 50 Albanian fans with a flag and a drone provoked 30,000 Serbian fans with 1000 flags and flares .... so what? Let UEFA deal with it.
Apparently it's ok for Serbs to allow fans run in the field, attacking the players?

Niko

pre 9 godina

There are rumors in the web and social websites that the authors were 10 Kosovar Albanians from Switzerland who were left out of stadium from Serbian Police. According to them, they had another 2 drones ready to launch, but stopped from doing so when they saw the violence escalate.
If this is true, Albania as country and national team is completely innocent. In that case,if Serbian Government demands apology from someone it has to demand it from Kosovo (which is this case it constitute de-facto recognition of independent Kosovo). But Serbia doesn't recognize Kosovo, meaning those who did it according to Serbian law are still Serbian citizens!
Maybe Vucic should look himself in the mirror and say "I'm sorry" or pick up the phone to call Hashim Thaci.
One can see how easy is start a war in Balkans. All you need is prejudice, mistrust, incompetent police, stupid politicians and some schmucks who wanted their 15 minutes of fame.

Justme

pre 9 godina

First of all, let me tell you that I am albanian so there will be no misunderstanding about that.
The football match was a disgrace not just to albanians or serbs but to us as human beings who live in europe in 2014. I watched the match from my home in Tirana and since the begining, the moment of the albanian anthem I was saddened by the noise and disrespect shown. The drone story was a provocation. I don't know by whom and I don't know the reason behind it but it should be investigated and condemned in any case as should be condemned the bad manegment of security. About politicians, ours in Albania are a disgrace and from what I have seen, yours are no better. I just wish one day, hopefully not to far in the future, we can have a proper football match which respects the spirit of the game. And be sure, myself and 99.9 percent of albanians i know don't hate serbians and I hope the same is true on your end. Hoping to be able to visit Belgrade and enjoy it's beauty I wish you all peace (paqe=mir) from Albania.

Did you just say that with a straight face?
It was not an Albanian flag. It was a Greater Albania flag. Do you even know the difference?
Who threw the first punch and why? Do you know?
If it was an Albanian flag nobody would care but since it was only a provocation you can't blame anyone for caring.

Now think about it a little. I know you will eventually get it.

group of friends (Serbian and Albanian)

pre 9 godina

Let's face the truth, this was a disgrace. It is 2014 and we all can do better. The media will overplay and the politicians will inflate everything to their benefit. The people should be smarter than that.
The Albanian and Serbian team captains have our respect. They both tried to play friendly and helped each other during the brawl. Except two or three Serbian and Albanian players who didn't keep their calm, everyone else on the field was to be applauded. That's what everyone should focus on. We can all be and should be friends, don't listen to the politicians.
That being said, it would be more productive if each country takes their responsibilities and works on fixing them. Before pointing the finger on our neighbor, we should point it on ourselves.

Signed, (the quite majority of Albanians and Serbians)

Serbs must stop the visit of the PM. He has said insulting things. The Albanians are GLOATING over this. They long planned it and they wanted to start trouble. They want to cause harm and steal land. That's their agenda. Serbs let them in and will suffer the consequences.

The fault is on those who went out of their way to really instigate and inflame - the ALBANIANS.

Close the Albanian embassy and the Serbian one in Albania. The less mixing the better.

@ Nikolle,
Unfortunately, hooliguns or thugs are sports fans attending sports games in every country. But the point is that Rama, the Shqiptar PM’s brother overstepped the limit of good behaviour by undermining the both teams’ play on the pitch with his stealthy or sneaky ’’trick’’. Drones can be used for carrying out bombing. He triggered the fans’ backlash, sparking riots. The map of great Albania is nothing of a novelty,it resembles Kosovo jihadists’ map suggesting that the Balkans will be an affiliate of the ISIS caliphate.

Navi

pre 9 godina

Not only should Albania apologize for the stunt but it should apologize for thirty years of belligerent behavior, hatred, intolerance, crime, and impoverishing every place they live in. Albania should also pay full reparations to all Kosovo Serb victims of their fascist policies. Then they need to apologize the same to Greeks, Macedonians, Montenegrins, and Italians. EU membership should require this.

Disciplinary proceedings have been opened against the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) for the setting off/throwing of fireworks and missiles (Article 16(2b & c) UEFA Disciplinary Regulations), crowd disturbance (Art. 16(2h) DR), field invasion by supporters (Art. 16(2a) DR), insufficient organisation (Art. 16(1) DR) and use of a laser pointer (Art. 16(2d) DR).

Listen here, for the people crying about the racist chants, get over it. It was the same in Croatia, Serbia.. But guess what, croats didnt have a drone flying in a ustasa flag.
Think about it this way, if Serbs had a drone and it flew in a cetnik flag, it would of sparked worldwide media attention and most likely a pyscopath albanian would start shooting on the pitch.

The Serbian soccer players handled the situation very well and the albos reacted for no reason.. G

ive me a break, that is the most disrespectful thing you can do when playing at someones stadium especially knowing that both sides are very nationalistic.. You do that in any eastern european country and same thing would happen

Guess what, what do you think would happen if this happened in the USA and it was an ISIS flag?

You get the point..

Lastly, they shouldnt even be playing each other, this is just big brother from behind the scenes trying to stir up drama between the two sides.. Go figure, decani monastary was vanadlized a day or two before..

You want an apology because your people chanted Kill Albanians, Do not let them alive out of the Stadium? Fans running like animals to the field to attack players? Security guards taking part putting their hands on Albanian players? Ivan Bogdan, a notorious Ultra Nationalist who managed to stop Italy, Serbia game back in 2010? He is supposed to be banned. Objects thrown at the bus on their way and out of Belgrade? The list goes on and on, but you want an apology for a flag? Seriously, I suggest we start tearing down every Serbian symbol left in Kosova. Every Serbian flag that appears any where in Kosova. Are serbs allowed to do these and they should not be held accountable?
Are you kidding Mr. Primeminister? Are you day dreaming Mr. Primeminister?
You sure need to check and see that you are not in the 1990s anymore, but you are in 2014.
The whole world has seen what the serbs did. You can try to lie to yourself but the world has seen it all.

Dont forget what the serb fans did in Italy...

albanian team came there to provoke instead of coming to play soccer. Looks like it was all staged from albanian side and everyone one was in on it. 2 hrs before arrival they advised they are changing their location of stay in beograd.

Complaining about 2 flares and the chants from crowd - what were you expecting? A heroes' welcome and roses from the fans? Comlpaining about fans on field - well it all started AFTER albanian greater albania flag provocation and your stupid aggressive mentality from albanian soccer players - who think they are rambos - jumped serbian players. There was only a few fans on the field anyway and police quickly pushed them back to the stands. Police cannot control the entire stadium there are too many fans; this applies to all stadiums. Yes you can bring your entire army to fortify a stadium but that beats the purpose, who wants to play in a war zone?

Ther are rumors that drone was let off from the roof of church beside stadium. Rope attached to cross on roof and someone climed to top. If there is an apology in order it should be to both the Albanian and Serbian people who just wanted to watch a football game and not a political show which this farse turned out to be. The UEFA rules are clear and the host country should ensure a safe and secure atmosphere and THEY are in charge of the security of the pitch, stands and everything in and out of the stadium since the ganme is played on Serbian soil. As for the rest of what happened, from the disrespecting of the Albanian anthem, to the barbaric chants of kill/burn the Albanians, invasion of the pitch by ivan the idiot and his cohorts, rain of projectiles on the Albanian team and VIP box that attended the game, war songs and signs directed at any Albanian found in the stadium, to the pure hatred displayed by vast majority of the Serbs in the stadium it speaks for itself, as how far a segment of the Serb population has come in their struggle to educate themselves and become human beings, apparently not very far at all. Politicians Serb and Albanian of course will stick to their guns and the relationship bewteen these two nations will be set back another 100 years and the old whore of Europe will shun these developments and do nothing as alwayswhile pretending to be morally superior to these balkan nations who are always at war and in need of civilization from such stellar hypocritcs as Platini and Blatt. To the silent peaceloving majority of Serbian and Albanian raise your voice and be heard.

True. But what would happen if a Serb in Pristina would display a banner like that socalled 'flag' showing Serbia in its recognized borders, i.e. including the territory of the self-proclaimed state of Kosovo?

The non vocal majority

pre 9 godina

If things were normal:
1. Albania would distance itself from the provacative flag and try to calm the situation.
2. Serbia would apologize for fans getting on the field, poor security (can't believe Bogdanov is still allowed to attend games, someone needs to answer for that) and calm the situation.
3. Both would work together to try to ease the unnecessary tension.

Unfortunately this is the Balkans and this is the norm for the loud minority who dictate how things go and what gets discussed.

Crazy how many Serbs are talking more about the flag and provocation than the unnessecary charging of the field.
Crazy how many Albanians are downplaying the provocation and acting surprised with the reaction, like if it were in Tirana it wouldn't be comparable.

Both are at fault at some degree and the media and vocal minority aren't doing anything to ease the tension. It's a disturbing trend.

FYI I am a Serb who is sitting back watching this escalate over a soccer game. Come on people!

This is about a month after Serbs lighting an Albanian flag in Italy during a soccer game which Albanians were not even parts of.

Yes sir, the Albanians are the ones provoking and destabizing the region. What the article fails to mention is that every war, EVERY WAR, in the Balkans had the Serbs involved. The Serbian public should give it a serious thought of electing new people to run their affairs.

According the PM of Serbia, Albania should apologize to Serbia for an act that the state of Albania has nothing to do with it. The event took place in Belgrade and Albania should apologize for it even though no Albanian fans were allowed to attend the game. During the entire match the Serbian crowd was chanting death to Albanians and other obscenities and yet Albania has to apologize. Mr. Vucic, would you please give us some of what you are smoking so that we can feel your enthusiasm.

The way Serbian politicians are blowing this event out of proportion it is as though Albania took 1/3 of its territory. Relax guys it was a gimmick most likely planned and pulled by a teenage kid but its quite obvious that the Serb politicians have no sense of humor. I watched the game and I thought it was humorous when the flag showed up. Nothing more and nothing less.I could take the same flag today and go to times square and the people would just stare at it and it wouldn't ruin anyones day.

In Serbia however this stunt has appearently shaken the foundations of the entire Serbian state. Please cut the nonsense and lets move on. Treat it for what it was just a perfectly executed gimmick and nada mas.

The Serbian public should replace these garbage politicians. The Serb players at the pitch showed maturity and professionalism during the entire game and Serbia should be proud of them.

Hahhahaha. The world saw these serb terrorists with their own eyes. 45 minutes of chanting kill the Albanians and kill the croats (Croats had nothing to do with this game).

How can you not come to the conclusion that Serbs are the ones provoking and disturbing the peace in the region. Only in Serbia can a people be so backwards starting from the smallest peasant all the way up to the biggest politician.

Hey Zoran next time you copy something make sure it's the whole article.

16(2d) DR).

EUFA have charged the Football Association of Albania (FShF) for refusing to play (Art. 27(1) UEFA Competition Regulations) and the display of an illicit banner (Art. 16(2e) DR).

Hopefully those Albanian "heroes" will be thrown out of the competition. They obviously put more value into provocations than sportsmanship but what else can we expect from them? That's what Albanians are good at, provocations. We see it here every day.

Hopefully some logical albanians agree with this, because many of you act like you have austim..

albanian team came there to provoke instead of coming to play soccer.

Alban

pre 9 godina

The Serbs treat the event like everything was cheerful and wonderful during the game until the non-official flags started to fly above the stadium and ruined the game. The fact is that the game was ruined before it started. The insults of Serbians toward Albanian team and hymn was incredibly rude. There were flares thrown everywhere in the pitch. I don't support the "Great Albania" flag, but it was just a pretext to ruin the game by Serbians. I wonder what would have happened if Albanian team scored a goal first.

You really want apology form them? You don;t know how adventurous and filibustered those albanian pliticians are. They aren't statesmen, they are a bunch of thieves, that exploit and trade their own country. Albania is a marvellous country with a beutiful scenery and full of recourses, but unfortunately is habitated by poor people, not just economically, but moreover culturally. Exclude the sourthen orthodox population, the rest of the country has a disastrous public education and an inflamatory lack of values. That's what make them to run the harsh reality and find consolence and affirmation to the fake nationalism and fictive flags. We have to be merciful of them.

Really?! You expect an apology?! How about you apologize to Albanians about the racism you showed the whole time even before the drone showed up, the whole stadium was chanting kill albanians..that was plain racism that has no place in 21st century..we expect an apology from Serbia to show that it has matured..

Looks like Serbia's football association have been charged with a few minor things like using a laser pointer.

Ratko

albanian team came there to provoke instead of coming to play soccer.

If true it is very very bad. albanian team and the losers in vip box disrespected the host country. But i dont expect anything else from albanians, the lowest of the low.

@ Nikolle,
Unfortunately, hooliguns or thugs are sports fans attending sports games in every country.

Hahhahaha. The world saw these serb terrorists with their own eyes. 45 minutes of chanting kill the Albanians and kill the croats (Croats had nothing to do with this game).

How can you not come to the conclusion that Serbs are the ones provoking and disturbing the peace in the region. Only in Serbia can a people be so backwards starting from the smallest peasant all the way up to the biggest politician.

Hopefully some logical albanians agree with this, because many of you act like you have austim..

The Serb players at the pitch showed maturity and professionalism during the entire game and Serbia should be proud of them.

pre 9 godina
