Ironically those comments come from serbs who live in solid democratic counties such as Australia and enjoy all the benefits that comes with being their citizen.

You make me laugh.
Do you honestly believe that we in Australia have any choice? We have a two party system here (minor parties are just for show) just like in the UK and America.
When they are both as bad as each other you don't have much of a choice at all. We are stuck between two evils and we just have to decide which one is the lesser of the two.
I never compared any country in my post but be assured people don't live in a democracy anywhere. It's just an illusion. How many protests on the streets of Sydney or Melbourne to achieve nothing? Even if we get one thing we ask for we lose in another way. There is always a trade off.

You say you are from Albania. If that's true, then you really can't speak for a western country for you have not lived there. Take it from people who only know what it's like to live in a western country. It's not as wonderful as it's portrayed in American soapies but it's home.

Mirel, here you are. After you ran away from the other thread where I provided you credible sources to support my statements as you had asked, you disappeared. No surprise. You are a coward like so many of your countrymen. Do us all a favor and disappear completely from this web blog.

...Then again, "democratic" countries have lost their democracy as well these days. Look at the countries alredy in the EU. Do the people there get to choose anything any more? I mean anything beside which tooth paste they are going to buy.
(Peggy, 12 October 2014 02:32)...

True,
Only Russia and China do have a healthy democracy.
They elect people and respect the will of the people.Look at the Hong Kong case.China is doing everything to ensure that the will of people will be respected in 2017.
Russia does the same by rotating Putin-Medvedev as president.
This is a healthy democracy not like in the west where even emigrants have their own representetives in Parliament.
I wish we abandon the western way of life and embrace vodka and rice.

Ironically those comments come from serbs who live in solid democratic counties such as Australia and enjoy all the benefits that comes with being their citizen.
And more ironically is that the same people will choose Western countries again over Russia and China if they have to elect where to live and work.

Let the people speak. That is a democratic way, and I am already sure what the outcome will look like.

Serbian people have lived under a dictatorship for decades so they don't know what democracy looks like and they don't know that any changes to the constitution cannot happen without their say so. I am quite sure that they won't get a vote on that one.

Keep hearing about the need to change the constitution but nobody ever says what needs to be changed. What terminology will be applied and what are the implications of that.
If people of Serbia accept changes without knowing and understnding what they are then they will get what they deserve. Is this change going to be put to a referendum and explained properly?
(Peggy, 10 October 2014 02:29)

It's the same old game they are playing with their own citizens, and not just since this government came into power. I don't get it. In any other, at least western country, people would not put up with it. I think it would be a good idea to put any constitutional changes up for a vote, because than it would really be transparent what people in Serbia want. The Kosovo- Serbia relations would be up for a vote, as well as what Serbia's future way concerning EU integration would look like. Let the people speak. That is a democratic way, and I am already sure what the outcome will look like.

63% of Serbia according to b92 ipsos polls call Kosovo a sovereign independent nation and would vote overwhelmingly to remove Kosovo from the consitution. It's time for Serbia to remove Kosovo the constitution and could do it tomorrow.

"As long as the EU provides the coherence needed for peace and cooperation in Europe, Serbia is best off as a member" bla blah whatever. A standard cut & past piece from the propaganda ministry of the €USSR.

How many hard core brainwashed Otporistas™ remains after 25 years of occupation? Not many is an estimated guess and mainly in the 1.600, no less, western funded NGO´s, heavily entrenched in our society who see´s to it that it remain that way.

"coherence needed for peace and cooperation in Europe", Peace at gunpoint and threat of economic warfare one might add, in Europe but not anywhere else, particulary in the ME and in Banderastan (the ukraine). The €USSR is a die hard neo-liberal market dictatorship on constant war-path against it´s own interests, mainly because of the anglo-zionist axis that keep them on strangle hold.

Happy journey and bon voyage to the rock bottom of the sea!

Mr. Druic

Why in the world would you take the time and make a fool out of yourself? Eve I know where you're going with this, and this is bad news for Serbia. You're implying that Serbia no longer knows what's beneficial for her, but to change her constitution? Clearly we will see that happen, but why not really inform Serbian public that no way will EU allow you to keep Kosova in your new constitution? You're so predicted what you really want to say, even though you kept it under your breath.

Whatever the technicalities, Serbia can politically combine realism with its own views about territory.

Serbia got into a mess in the Balkan conflicts. Milosevic forgot that while making enemies of other states might gan popularity with nationalist sentiments, it also invites defeat.

There you go - defeat is what happened.

Serbia is bigger than embittered nationalists, and has more important aims than that which motivates their prejudices.

Likewise, the community of European Nations is more than just what comes out of the EU.

We want a community of European Nations - not warring factions.

The EEC was partly set up to de-Balkanise Europe, and now it is able to do good in de-Balkanising the Balkans.

As long as the EU provides the coherence needed for peace and cooperation in Europe, Serbia is best off as a member of that club rather than just sitting in a field of dreams.

Indeed Ari, the €USSR will not admit Serbia because membership comes with certain but increasingly diminishing rights and benefits. Changing of the constitution however, will admit it to freely and at no cost what so ever dictate orders to the US imposed quisling cult and maintain the occupation.

Yet another ominous development on the path the victors of the war against Serbia has imposed upon it.

Ari Gold

He pointed out that it would be necessary because of EU integration, adding that all recommendations from the European Commission report are "beneficial for Serbia."

And this is how you know Serbia is not a country today, but a colony. The Marxist central planners in Brussels known as the unelected European Commission do not have the slightest of interests to "benefit Serbia". They are primarily concerned with destroying nation-states in favor of an artificial European super-state.

So why not? Serbia has got nothing better to do than to change its Constitution (whatever that is supposed to mean, Djuric did not specify) for the sake of joining an organization that will never admit Serbia anyway.

As long as Serbia continues to isolate itself and focus only on joining an ever-receding, ever-declining and ever-imploding EU, it will continue to suffer economically, socially and politically.

Isolation, colonization and further decline of the economy or cooperation with the rest of the world, freedom and at least a possibility for prosperity are the only options Serbia has.
