Dear Willi,
I'm sorry you have to be the object of such hate. However, don't underestimate Ari Gold, he is capable of even worse.

Thanks, in any other country in the West, a media outlet which publised something like B92 did with this comment from that creepy Ari Gold, would be sued, and, and it would cause an uproar. Not in Serbia, and that does shed a real bad light on the state of serb journalism. Well this coward Ari hides behind a false name, from an old fictional TV series, I don't. Thanks for your support True European.

Mirel, Mirel, Mirel, I'm growing tired of teaching you the history of your own people. But if you need sources, so be it. Look up Dr. Stephen K. Stoan, PhD History, Duke University. He writes extensively about how Tito confiscated land from Serbs that were expelled from Kosovo and not allowed to return. Their land was then given to Albanians from Albania.

If that isn't enough, continue your research by visiting Yad Vashem, a Jewish organization committed to preserving the truth about Jewish and non-Jewish persecution during WWII. Here you will learn that Albanian terror in Kosovo wasn't just limited to Serbs, but also the Jewish population there too.

And while you're at it, look up what James Bissett, former Canadian Ambassador to Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Albania has to say about Albanian brutality toward Serbs in Kosovo.

Once you've completed your homework assignment Mirel, I want you to come back and admit to me and all the B92 readers that Albanians sided with the Axis powers in large numbers during WWII. Run along now, you have a lot of reading to do.

Dear njegos!
Our debate started when you claim that "Between 1961-81 some 240K Albanians relocated from Albania to Kosovo"

Can you provide one serious source to support this ridiculous claim?
Thank you in advance!

From Mirel: "My question was,how come that Fadil Hoxha and his albanian men were YU War Heroes, while u claim that albanians sided with nazis?

Also how Enver Hoxha and his men become the winners of WWII,while u claim albanians sided with nazis?"

Mirel, the communist party in Albania was created by Tito and was an appendage of the Yugoslav Communst Party. Tito promised Kosovo to the Albanians, but reneged on his promise after the war and kept it as part of Yugoslavia after the war. The communists in Yugoslavia won the war, so they were all considered to be heros.

I find it amusing that you praise Fadil Hoxha as some sort of Albanian hero. Do you consider Tito, the father of communism in Albania a hero also? Enver Hoxha, the last communist leader of Albania helped turn your country into the most backward place in Europe. Yet you seem to be pleased with Albania's communist past. I guess when you only have Albanian Nazis or Albanian communists to choose from...well, maybe you should just keep quiet.

...Surely you've heard of Balli Kombetar. They were an Albanian Nationalist group that called for the extermination of all slavs in Kosovo. When Italy capitulated in 1943 Albania fell under the direction of the Germans. Albanian SS divisions were formed and carried out massacres against the Serb and Jewish populations of Kosovo.

Don't you find it embarrassing that a Serb has to teach you about your own history...as shameful as it is.
(njegos, 10 October 2014 00:38)

Yes I have heard about Balli Kombetar, which was disbanded by Enver Hoxha's forces in less than 6 months.

My question was,how come that Fadil Hoxha and his albanian men were YU War Heroes, while u claim that albanians sided with nazis?

Also how Enver Hoxha and his men become the winners of WWII,while u claim albanians sided with nazis?

Every county who fought against Nazis had its own version of Balli Kombetar, including Serbia.

Albania got war repetitions from Italy,in 1950s and this is a fact that we didnt side with the Axis Powers.
Quislings have all countries in Europe including Serbia.

More from Mirel: "Albania is officially one of the 16 members of Anti Fascist koalition in WWII."

Hey Mirel, did you ever hear of the Skenerbeg Division from Kosovo during WWII. They fought with the Italians who were aligned with the Nazis. The Nazis & Italians annexed parts of Montenegro, Serbia and Macedonia to Albania.

Surely you've heard of Balli Kombetar. They were an Albanian Nationalist group that called for the extermination of all slavs in Kosovo. Between 1961-81 some 240K Albanians relocated from Albania to Kosovo. (njegos, 9 October 2014 02:13) ....

What are you smoking?
Where did you find this figure?
Because to escape Albania during Hoxha's time you have to be an invisible man.I rembember very well thet time.
The real figure of people who escaped Albania from 1945-90 toward Italy,Greece and YU is less than 1000,and all of them, didn't stayed in Kosovo,Italy and Greece but flee to USA or Australia, because of fear of Albanian secret service.

There are two reasons that Albanians couldn't escape during Hoxha's time, the first one is that the border was full with solders, secret service and chicken wire and you could get elecrocuted and die.
The second one was the even if you were lucky to escape, the remain of your family will suffer in concentration camps, and all your relatives to the second cousin will had consequences.

Secondly,You are saying that Albanians allied with Nazis.

Can you explain me how did Fadil Hoxha an Albanian become War Hero in YU?
How did Enver Hoxha become Albanian president?
They and their armies fought against italians and nazis.Enver Hoxha's army counted 70 thousand man and women which is quite large for a country like Albania, whose population was 900 thouand in 1944.

Thirdly,Albania is officially one of the 16 members of Anti Fascist koalition in WWII.

From Danilo: "Better to be an armchair historian than an poor, armchair propagandist."

The irony here is that it was the Albanians who used propaganda by hiring Saatchi & Saatchi to create a negative image of the Serbs that was played over and over in the western media. And why not, they saw the success that the Croats & Muslims had after paying US PR firms Ruder Finn and Hill & Knowlton millions of dollars to equate the Serbs with Nazis. You seem to have bought the propaganda spewed by these firms hook, line & sinker. And you call me a propagandist! Too funny.

And you never answered my question. Were you and your family members proponents of the Yugoslav communist ideology of Brotherhood & Unity?

More from Danilo: "but, why do you go back 50 years we're talking about 1989"

Because to understand the dynamics of Serb-Albanian relations in Kosovo one must understand the history of the region. Your snapshot of Milosevic's actions is only part of the picture. I don't condone what he did, nor how he did it. But to only criticize his actions in a bloody civil war is simply irresponsible. There were no angels there, the least of which was the terrorist organization led by Kosovo's foremost politician, Hasim "Snake" Thaci.

I've got an idea Danilo. Why don't you go to Pristina on your next vacation. See how well you're received there with a name like Danilo. When you come back, if you come back, let us know how wonderful the people there are.

100k serbs expelled after WWII? usually people say 40k, but sure, what do the actual numbers matter when they're just a narrative device?

They expelled the families that were colonized there after the Balkans wars. So the picture is more of a demographic tug-of-war rather than an unending victimization of Serbs, as some Serbs like to portray

but, why do you go back 50 years we're talking about 1989 and Milosevic's crackdown - the one you say didn't happen until 1999.

To Danilo, Willi Pfaff, Ian, et al: It's quite amusing that you armchair Balkan historians always point to the Milosevic era as the point in time when problems began in Kosovo.

Due to space limitations I'll only go back to WWII. When the Yugoslav army capitulated in 1941, Albanians, aligned with the fascists axis powers seized the ammunitions depots in Kosovo and armed themselves heavily. They gleefully massacred thousands of Serbs during this period. Some 100K Serbs were forced to leave their homes in Kosovo during WWII and not permitted to return by Tito. Instead, Tito allowed Albanians to pour over the border and settle in Kosovo. Between 1961-81 some 240K Albanians relocated from Albania to Kosovo. Tito turned a blind eye to the violence inflicted on these Serbs by Albanians because they overwhelmingly supported Mihailovich's Chetniks. Furthermore, in the name of Brotherhood & Unity Tito did not allow these crimes to be mentioned after the war. Similarly, he ordered pits in Bosnia and Croatia containing thousands of murdered Serbs to be cemented over and never mentioned again.

Fast forward to Milosevic. Did he crackdown? Yes. Was he brutal? Yes. In my opinion he was no better than Tito. He was a recycled communist. But to pin the entire blame on him regarding Serb-Albanian problems in Kosovo is very short-sighted. The Serb population in Kosovo was reduced systematically and don't tell me they left for economic reasons. They were forced to leave. FACT

I'm referring to a speech, but to the removal of the Kosovo autonomy under threats of force (but still keeping the vote in the federal system); I'm talking about closing those Albanian-language schools and institutions you mention; I'm talking about the removal about Albanians from civil-service positions - schools, government, public companies; I'm talking about jailing proponents and supports of Albanians who wanted to negotiate(!).

So, no. Milosevic didn't start cracking down in 1999 when NATO bombs started falling.

you think

pre 9 godina

Interesting that these murdered Serbs were killed in the 1998-99 timeframe. Milosevic's crackdown didn't begin until after NATO bombed Serbia in 1999. Clear evidence that Albanian persecution of Serbs precipitated Serb reprisals.
(njegos, 8 October 2014 02:08
Quite the uneducated post, you think?
Of course it has already been determined as of this writing there are no bodies in fact buried there much less a Serb mass grave.
But the first resolution calling for a cease to Milosevics "crackdown" was 1160 or March 1998, the second 1199 of Sept 1998 noted that Milosevic forces had already displaced 230,000. The bombing was due to the fact that Milosevic had ignored all UN resolutions calling for an end to his siege. But you are right that Milosevic intensified his brutality once the bombing started hoping to have Kosovo Albanian free quickly. So anything happening in 1998 or 1999 were reactions to the cruelty being inflicted upon the Kosovo people by Milosevic.
As far as the missing 400 Serbs, one only needs to look at the refugees that fled into the west under fake names and with confiscated Albanian papers. As many of them fled fearing arrests for war crimes once NATO had driven the Serb forces out.

another attempt to whitewash serb history. What you are saying about the beginning of Milosevic's bloody terror in Kosovo is simply wrong. Schools and Universities were closed to Albaniens in Kosovo in the early / mid 90's. As a result private schools were established all over Kosovo, where kids were taught in private homes by Albanien teachers who where kicked out. The parents paid them with food, so the teachers and their families were able to survive. All Albaniens working in the public sector lost their jobs in the early 90's. Ethnic Albaniens in Kosovo were not able to live a normal life in their own country any longer. They were not treated like normal citizens any longer. It simply is not true that Serbia treated Kosovars in a humane way, or do you think closing of schools and Universities, and kicking people out of jobs because of their ethnic background is right?
I guess you never were told about that in Milosevic's Serbia, but it is common knowlege anywhere else in the world. Repeating the horrible crap they put into your heads doesn't mean that this was the reality at that time, and that is where the serb governments after Milosevic all failed. They never told you the truth abiut what really happened back than.

You should have some basic curiosity to learn about the recent history of the region."

Wrong Danilo. Don't confuse Milosevic's speech at Kosovo Polje in 1989 with a crackdown.

Please don't forget the rights that Albanians had in Kosovo. Their own university with their language, autonomy that far outweighed the rights other minorities of other European countries. Representation in local and natioanl gov't. All this wasn't enough though. They wanted more. The systematic persecution of Kosovo's Serbs was allowed to go on for decades in the name of brotherhood & unity. When Milosevic did finally crackdown it was already too late. The Serb population had dwindled to 10% of Kosovo. Tito's communist mentality forced them to tolerate crimes against Serbs in Kosovo. By 1989, it was already too late. Serbs should have addressed this issue much earlier.

Danilo, my guess is that you and your family members were proponents of the Yugoslav communist ideal of Brotherhood & Unity. Am I right?

It is a suspected site, and even if there are bodies found there, there is a big chance they may end up being Albanian. After all those are the documented mass graves found throughout Kosovo and Serbia. As far as the international community? Serbia gave their suspicions to Eulex and they are investigating, what 15 years???
The question you should ask is why it took so long for the Serbian govt to agree to exhume Rudnica, and why they are not charged for crimes after they did a ruse examination years back where they took samples allowing international observers to "observe" the taking of samples but not take any, then only Serbian experts were allowed to handle the samples run tests and then came back and reported there was NO evidence of bodies buried there, only to have them being uncovered on a daily basis now. Probably, why the news of this "possible" site surfaces now.

So lets wait and see IF this site contains bodies and IF they are Serbian before you start your "organ harvesting game". By the way no where in any investigation the 3 international or the Serbian one has there been any allegations that Gjakova was suspected to be an area where organ harvesting occurred.
But keep up the hopes, maybe some day you will find evidence that a group of Albanians were as brutal as the Serbs were in Kosovo.

You should have some basic curiosity to learn about the recent history of the region.

Learn real history before you comment, and don't listen only to chetnick propoganda.

another attempt to whitewash serb history.

Interesting that these murdered Serbs were killed in the 1998-99 timeframe. Milosevic's crackdown didn't begin until after NATO bombed Serbia in 1999. Clear evidence that Albanian persecution of Serbs precipitated Serb reprisals. And these types of events were going on long before 1998 before Kosovo was on the world stage. Better to be an armchair historian than an poor, armchair propagandist.

(ida, 6 October 2014 20:48), You and others talk like they have already dug up the site.

Don't you find it embarrassing that a Serb has to teach you about your own history...as shameful as it is.
(njegos, 10 October 2014 00:38)

My question was,how come that Fadil Hoxha and his albanian men were YU War Heroes, while u claim that albanians sided with nazis?

Also how Enver Hoxha and his men become the winners of WWII,while u claim albanians sided with nazis?

Every county who fought against Nazis had its own version of Balli Kombetar, including Serbia.

Albania got war repetitions from Italy,in 1950s and this is a fact that we didnt side with the Axis Powers.
Quislings have all countries in Europe including Serbia.

pre 9 godina

FACT

In case this really is the case, the people responsible for such a crime need to be found and put on trial. But one thing should not be forgotten. The serb paramilitary units were the one's which started the killings in Kosovo, and their brutal reign was nothing comparable to what happened to Serbs living in Kosovo during the war. They killed, raped, looted all over Kosovo, and showed a brutality which by far exceeded that shown by the Kosovo restiance. They had fun killing innocent people, hunted them like animals, and acted in a way unheard of in Europe since WWII. Serbia still has not come to terms with that, and still denies that all this happened. Both countries have to come to terms with what happened during that war, but Serbia was the one who started it, and was way more violent and inhumane during that time. Serbia has to do a lot of sould searching before it can point fingers at other countries.

Well it is most likely too late to tell if organs were removed. And the question is why the international community didn't do anything about this for over 15 years. Hopefully the people are identified so their relatives can finally give them a proper burial.

Rest assured that no Albanians will be brought to justice. To do so would be for the west to admit they supported a murderous criminal regime.

From Mirel: "They and their armies fought against italians and Nazis"

More from Mirel: "Albania is officially one of the 16 members of Anti Fascist koalition in WWII."

Hey Mirel, did you ever hear of the Skenerbeg Division from Kosovo during WWII. They fought with the Italians who were aligned with the Nazis. The Nazis & Italians annexed parts of Montenegro, Serbia and Macedonia to Albania.

Surely you've heard of Balli Kombetar. They were an Albanian Nationalist group that called for the extermination of all slavs in Kosovo. When Italy capitulated in 1943 Albania fell under the direction of the Germans. Albanian SS divisions were formed and carried out massacres against the Serb and Jewish populations of Kosovo.

Don't you find it embarrassing that a Serb has to teach you about your own history...as shameful as it is.

njegos

pre 9 godina

(ida, 6 October 2014 20:48), You and others talk like they have already dug up the site.

(The Count of Kosova, 7 October 2014 16:22)

Count,
You have a point there, Belgrade has never been able to come up with victims to support their case. For many years I did believe, as many Serbs did, the propaganda coming out of Belgrade. However, at some point a person cannot simply accept wild accusations without seeing any evidence. I now feel betraid by my government and now blame them for soiling the reputation of Serbs everywhere. Why should ordinary Serbs feel like lepers every time we travel outside our country.

I guess when you only have Albanian Nazis or Albanian communists to choose from...well, maybe you should just keep quiet.

another attempt to whitewash serb history.

So, no. Milosevic didn't start cracking down in 1999 when NATO bombs started falling.
