Serbian Orthodox Church:Make a Parade but use your own money

Maybe the church should adhere to some of this advise. These priests are building mcmansions and driving around brand new SUVs. I wonder if these principles are on their minds then?

Very noble of the Patriarch trying to be accommodating. Although I simply don't see why these parades have to be done in public. It is the insistence of these organizers to promote homosexuality on public streets to non-gays. Why can't they rent an arena, soccer field, camp grounds...whatever and use that to celebrate their way of life.

Public streets should be used for public purposes, and a parade based on celebrating any sexuality is disgusting. The fact that Brussels is demanding this makes it all the while more the reason not to do it. Serbia and the region has bigger problems than throwing a gay party right now.

Another idiotic idea is "promoting homosexuality". Someone who is heterosexual will NEVER become gay, and vice versa. I, for instance, can watch millions of parades, but i won`t become gay because "they`re promoting it". It`s not a product, you either are gay or ain`t.

This parade is like forcing a dying, starving animal to sniff some cocaine. And that is exactly how this unfortunate nation is being treated by the Brussels hegemony - like a lowly animal good for taunting, kicking and experimenting only.
It also makes a good target for stoking a little bit more anti - Serbian sentiment in the world, and cheaply too. The gay population of Serbia knows well that their nation would not approve of any such parade, be it hetero or homo. Yet they would rather dive deeper into misery and drag everybody with them than give up imitating one small bizarre segment of the Western life. Bravo, go make those who despise your nation happy and keep being selfish. Way to fight for more acceptance, right?

I agree that in this economic climate money is scarce and needs to be applied to hospitals, schools, charities etc. before it goes to fund security for an event which does not compare in importance, BUT, if Serbian citizens were not so homophobic then there would be no need for such security.
It's sad that this money which is desperately needed to looks after the sick, young and vulnerable is being diverted to secure a parade.

Gay parades are the last problem even a homophobe should have. They hurt no one, they don`t make you gay if you attend it, if you don`t like it then you should simply not care.

For example, if orthodox believers want to have a parade to celebrate their faith, i couldn`t care less, i just avoid it and that`s all, even if it`s an insult to human intelligence in 2014, it promotes stupidity and lack of critical thinking. Now this is a promotion...

And trust me, powerful countries (US, Germany, Russia, etc) screw countries like Serbia in much more productive ways, they couldn`t care less about promoting homosexuality.

It`s just a non-topic really, the media and the politicians talk about these things when they want to avoid the real issues, like taxes, production, unemployment, health care, etc.

There must always be something to fear and hate, otherwise people will start to ask for a better quality of life and less corruption.

How shameful you compare the African American struggle to this nonsense. What rights do individual gays not have in Serbia that everyone else has? Gays can work, pay taxes, vote, own property, receive protection from the law, eat at what ever restaurant they wish...there is literally nothing that stops a gay individual from doing the same exact things as a straight one.

This event is a provocation from Brussels. I have nothing against gays because what they do has nothing to do with me. I have a problem with the EU's sick and twisted desire to humiliate Serbia in every way possible, and even worse for the Serbian govt to go along.

Thing is, the EU is very brutal to their own nation-states. They are dramatically changing demographics in some of their own countries to shake up the voter base so they can stay in power for longer. But really it's about the destruction of nation-state culture in exchange for an ultra left EUropean one.

The EU, probably the most vile movement on this planet after ISIS.

The state should police at the state's expense - and arrest and imprison anyone who thinks that violence is more acceptable than homosexuality. It is not the duty of homosexuals to pay for the behaviour of others who do not respect the law and the rights of free assembly.
