Origins and implications of Scottish referendum

It is an interesting problem. In an era of globalisation some Scots want independence, yet they want to be part of the EU. The democratic process will take part, however what are the implications for Scotland? The polls at the time of wrtiting (16th sept) are very close. If the result again is close could this leave a divided Scotland? However there are implications for rUK as well, in the event of a yes vote there will be alot of talks and plenty of disagreements. I read some news outlets all talk of empire, etc etc. Those days are long gone it is however about a union that has worked for 300 years, like any marriage it is not perfect. As an Englishman i hope the union stays together because i believe in a global world size does matter.I am sure other seperatists around the world will look at the vote closely. Lets not forget this is a democratic union forged by 4 nations. And a democratic process is in place for a vote.
