"Immediate 15 percent cuts of pensions and salaries"

Unless public sector salaries and pensions are immediately reduced by 15 percent linearly, a new reduction will have to be implemented in the next year.

Lenard, Croatia's debt is at least 3x higher than Serbia's with almost half the population of Serbia.
(Ari Gold, 17 September 2014 00:59)

Sure, that's correct, but than what?!!! Debt per person being higher means nothing; it's the debt relative to income that matters. To make things easy for you to understand: if Lenard has $100 in debt and has an annual income of 200, he/she is worse off than you having $200 in debt and an annual income of $600. You are better off even though your debt is 2x higher than Lenard's.

Lenard, Croatia's debt is at least 3x higher than Serbia's with almost half the population of Serbia. I REALLY don't think you should talk. Your most lucrative industry is your tourism off the Dalmatian coast (which was a century ago offered to Serbia btw), and even that revenue goes directly into the pockets of the German companies that run your tourism now.

As for Serbia cutting pensions/wages... it's kind of hard to trust the intentions of a gov't that hasn't called for tackling public official expenditure first and is going straight for the pensions.

How about cutting the amount of members of parliament in Serbia? 200 U.S. Senators for a country of 300 million vs. 250 Members of parliament for a country of 6 million?!?! what>?!

THe members of the Fiscal Council must presumably have high wages, over 2000 euros, so no austerity measures can affect their quality of life . Their view is that a poor man can eat only when he is given a piece of bread.
They are trying to persuade the government that only cutting wages and pensions are the only measures to save the country from total bankruptcy, but they have slim chances to persuade poor workers and pensioners. Obviously ,it is not easy to bring down the deficit of more than almost two billion euros. The projecting public expenditure exceeds revenue ,but wages in Serbia hardly cover shopping basket essentials. On the one hand ,a lot of money is squandered through corruptions as public procurements , money embezzlement in public- sector firms, bad management ,squandering of millions of euros by politicians, executives ,vice-executives various counselors ,unnecessary agencies, unrealistically high wages and all sorts of thieves. On the other hand, there is tax evasion by public sector and lots of retail shops do not give us fiscal sale slips. The thieves and those who are bad managers, squanderers, should recover the embezzled and dissipated money. That's the solution!

Here's a cost saving scheme for the Serbian government, maybe they can, I dunno, take back the money they handed over to their tycoon friends? Just saying...

Cut the criminal "Srpska" fantasy aka greater criminal Serbia. That the ever poorer Serbian pesants are forced to support on life support. As the life blood is sucked out of the Serbias peasants to support a criminality in Bosnia that will do Serbia in. As Dodos fater rear end gets ever bigger as the peasants starve more every year. Just a couple of buildings Serbia built for the greater Serbia criminal fantasy in Bosnia cost 300 million euros only tip of the iceberg.

But why Kroatia have to do same? They no have RS? Hope you send plenty of Kroatian BS to Kiev as very big shortage there.
