Serbian Railways receives Russian machines

State-owned company Serbian Railways (Železnice Srbije) has received 31 construction machines from Russia.

About time! A few summers ago I traveled via train with a group of friends from Thessaloniki to Belgrade. The trip took only 18 hours... Considering there was no toilet paper, the cabin smelled like fish, and their were no snacks or food that was sold, we still had a great time believe it or not (probably because of the bottles of Ouzo we brought on board). Upon arrival to Belgrade I learned that practically no one in Serbia travels by train. Hopefully these improvements will actually take place and we can begin to see some form of modernization of the rail system.

....and I bet Serbia gets much more than that from elsewhere.

Tito for example did quite well for a long time getting loans from the US.

Japanese buses are very well known in Serbia....

Nice to know that the Russians are doing something positive ..... pity about what they are doing in Ukraine.

That is allots money in loans from Russia this is not first loan Serbia is getting from Russia and other country's Serbia is getting both foots deeper and deeper in mood is going to take Serbia 100 years to pay back Russians government.
