Putin is funding ISIS with Intelligence as well as Arms.
(True European, 26 August 2014 20:02)

Possibly.

If you're pointing fingers, the US, since their President Eisenhower, has had their hand in overthrowing governments in the Middle East and currently, most of those governments are in a state of anarchy.
The US has little influence over these weak and lawless states. Islamic extremists, who murder their own, are in charge.

So much for the Arab Spring that the US applauded.

The US is good at breaking things but terrible at putting things back together again.

The war in the middle east is very lucrative. Many lunatics fighting for their imaginary god while the guys above profiteering from arms sales.
Im talking about countries who sell arms and have active agendas in the region.
Of course, it isnt just russia, but the US, arab countries and turkey aswell.

And as for neo-ottoman fears in the balkans. Oh dont worry, that just trash talk. Its about business.
The hallmark of balkan countries is not just poverty but stupidity aswell.
Corrupt leaders arnt just corrupt, they are stupid aswell. The more corrupt a country is, the easier it is to get influenced. THats common sense.
The turks are wanting to create a new "sphere" of influence or just like any corrupt plutocracy does. Like the US, Russia and other rich countries, it tries to subvert others for the very personal interests of its plutocrats.

"Bring Israel into the Balkans." You have finally revealed that the political analyst's armchair you are sitting on is actually a child's Highchair.
(True European, 26 August 2014 19:54)

I disagree. Israel already has strong defence cooperation with Greece and Cyprus as it is. Serbia should seek to involve itself in this cooperation because all countries involved have similar values and share similar security concerns. That said, there is a lot Serbia could bring to the table in terms of defence cooperation. Serbia's arms industry is still pretty strong and Zastava Arms actually exports its weapons to Western countries, believe it or not.

As far as Israel is concerned, it is a highly developed country that could always use allies given the violent and threatening neighbourhood it lives in.

(True European, 26 August 2014 20:02)

That's ridiculous. Why the hell would Putin or Russia fund a radical Islamist group like ISIS knowing full well of the dangers of radical Islam within their own borders? Did you know that the Assyrian community in Iraq and other Christian minorities there look to Russia for help and guidance and see it as a defender of Christianity? Russia was the very first government to respond to the ISIS threat by arming the Iraqi central government with Russian planes.

Correction, it is Obama who destroyed governments over there and funded all the radicals to take over including Boko Haram.
Now, if you still think it's Putin, kindly show us some evidence of that or even which source you are taking this from.

Turkey is given free rein as part of this plan, the purpose of which is both undermining Russia through Turkish connections in the Caucasus and keeping the European Union in toe.

The answer to this is simple, engage with Greece and Cyprus on bringing Israel into the Balkans for a much larger role to counter the growing Turkish threat. They aren't fans of Erdogan and Turkey either.

As much as Turkey is 'a wolf in sheep's clothing' when it comes to turning a blind eye to extremists, it is also a responsibility for the Balkan countries particularly Bosnia who seem to encourage any form of radical Islam. Bosnia's pathetic president Bakir Izmetbegovic deliberately invites any Muslims to emigrate to Bosnia whilst marginalising the country's Serb and Croat population. Turkey, who seem to be Izetbegovic's 'big brother', want to be the regions political police. I don't understand why the EU doesn't intervene when clearly this is obvious in everyday life in Bosnia-Herz. Having said that, the country's Serb and Croat leaders aren't saying much. Probably because they only care about themselves and not the citizens that naively elected them in the first place. Now that ISIS is well entrenched in Northern Syria and Iraq, I can't wait when ISIS start creating problems for Ankara who actually gave these rodents a clear path to enter Syria. Turkey's unofficial dictator Erdogan will regret this, but his people will even more when they realise that ISIS are a bunch of lawless swines who bully and eliminate others they don't tolerate. The irony is that Al-Assad, an Alawite Muslim is a friend of Syria's Christian and other minorities. Izmetbegovic on the other hand, is a friend of ISIS. Sadly though, the puppets in Brussels allow this swine, just like his dad, to run a European country in the heart of Europe that is fast becoming a third-world mess while he gets rich.

Balkan paranoia about the Ottomans seeping through again. What he calls pan-Ottomanism I call Turkish economic growth. It isn't the fault of Turkey that it is stronger than Greece, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia (insert Balkan state here) and like any country in the world, its economic expansion is followed by investment in other countries and as such, influence. What has always been funny for me to witness is this ambiguity that people in the Balkans have towards the Turks. They consider them inferior and uneducated, yet they fear them at the same time. To then really seal the paradox, they don't mind watching God awful Turkish soap operas, who happen to be widely views by Greeks, Serbs, Albanians, Macedonians. This so called analyst has fallen victim to that very boring narrative that everything wrong in the Balkans is the fault of Turkey.

"there is no doubt that the active neo-Ottoman policy toward our region will continue, especially if Ahmet Davutogul becomes Turkey's new prime minister."

Nothing about Davutoglu and his ilk in Turkey is trustworthy. He is a fervent Islamist and a staunch supporter of ISIS in Syria, but he is also a believer in the revival of Ottoman-inspired sphere of influence in the Balkans and of course in this neo-Ottoman soap opera the Balkans are somehow turned into 'ancestral' homes for Turks. Same stuff in Cyprus where the post-1974 settlers in the occupied north are now considered legitimate ancestry. This project, of course, would have no chance if not for US support. The US has also created a Muslim Nato-protectorate of Kosovo and is supporting a Muslim-run Bosnia. Turkey is given free rein as part of this plan, the purpose of which is both undermining Russia through Turkish connections in the Caucasus and keeping the European Union in toe.
