I fully agree with Ari Gold here. Having people like him/her, Peggy, etc voting and being MPs will be a blessing for Kosovo as they will make sure that Serbia never joins the EU.

Why would having MP's from parts outside of Serbia be so wrong?

It is very entertaining to read this goon's words. He says that he is viewed suspiciously when travelling with his Bosnian passport. Whereas of course everyone welcomes those nice cuddly Serbs with open arms. This is yet another attempt to take a dig at the state of Bosnia in an election year. I suggest that Dodik moves to Serbia and tries to get himself elected to the Serb Parliament or accepts that he (and the RS) is part of BiH and likely to remain so and just gets on with trying to address the real issues facing his citizens; the acquisition of a Serb passport not being high on many people's list.

Those Serbs abroad will not go through the obstacle course hassle of getting a Passport and ID Card (Licna Karta) until Serbia can streamline the process and make it fast and simple. Take a cue from the US. I went ahead and got my documents renewed (I was born in Serbia but have lived in the US 37 of my 38 years), and it can be a hassle. The country for once needs to stream line everything consistently. They have the computer technology, start using it. These are the little things (like getting a driver's license) that they need to address and move into the 21st century.

Study the way it's done in North America and some parts of Europe. Build on the infrastructure from there. You want all of this involvement from Serbs abroad, and Serbs abroad would love to be involved more, but Serbia needs to stop looking at Serbs abroad as some $$$$ train jackpot that they can jack money out of that they don't do to Serbs in Serbia. Instead of looking at how they can screw more money out of Serbs abroad, they should encourage making them feel at home. That in turn will lead to more investments from those people. Nobody likes being taken advantage of, and Serbs abroad are not dumb and see right through what the government agencies try to do.

Hmmmmm what a silly statement that isn't reciprocated. Embarrassing.

I think Dodik knows a bit more than you, over 5000 muslims from palestine area fought serbs in Bosnia, if not even more.. Thier leader from that area fought Serbs in WW2 and joined the muslim Nazi group. 'hint hint Izetbegović'////

No, this would be a bad massage. Why should any person who have chosen not to live in Serbia should be allowed to vote in Serbia and thus having influence on Serbian politics that should be made for the people living there (and not for some expatriates) ?

For the same reason we send so much money there either privately or via our churches.
Because WE CARE.
We are good enough to support Serbia in very way from afar as long as we are far away and have no say.
Maybe we can make better judgements because we have experienced western democracy and want to protect our brothers and sisters from heading into these waters uprepared.
Maybe because others have the same right.
I don't care which one you pick but you have a choice.

Questioner most of these Serbs you think left Serbian lands didn't choose to leave those parts of Yugoslavia they were from they were cleansed out (the one's who were lucky enough to escape) by Croat fascist militias, Handzar SS divisions of Bosniak muslims in WW2 along with Tito's partisan hordes and by a very similar bunch of misfits in the 90's.A double genocide so far remaining unpunished. President Dodik's contention is that all Serbs should and must be made citizens of Serbia and there is no objection as far as anyone is aware in Serbia. Jews can become citizens of Israel regardless of where they are from,or were born. The Serb diaspora doesn't wish Serbia any ill-will unlike many of the non-Serbian contributors on this forum who indulge in a persistent orgy of verbal provocation and misinformation. Milorad Dodik is as usual right!! Hope he becomes President of Serbia one day soon.

"Obviously, there is evidence that it did. Dick Marty also had the evidence, but he was prevented from conducting an investigation, Carla del Ponte also had it. Many Serbs are judged on the basis of collective responsibility. (Former RS President) Biljana Plavšić, who had nothing to do with crimes but held office, was sentenced. Now (in the case of the KLA) a huge amount of evidence is needed," he remarked.

Carla was Chief Prosecutor for ICTY and did not have squat. Marti was paid by Serbia to say things that did not happened, and besides, he is no prosecutor and/or an investigatyor, just a member of European Council. Dead end for you Dodik=Dick.

Countries already have very similar arrangements such as Croatia and Hungary, why can't Serbia? Why would having MP's from parts outside of Serbia be so wrong? The Serbian diaspora sends billions in aid EVERY year back home. The reason why it only goes straight to families and not into investments is because nobody here trusts the Serbian government. That could change if there were MP's from the diaspora.

You sound like one of those Serbs who only care about Belgrade city limits. Nothing outside of your little bubble matters to you. But maybe you should ask your Belgrade elite not to have 250 members of parliament in the first place, or tell them to stop using the national budget as a coin purse...

then maybe there would be money left over to finance something like this.

See how confused Dodik is by his comment:

How would one explain the fact the EU is working on the Stabilization and Association Agreement with Kosovo, while five EU countries have not recognized Kosovo?

The Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) is with NATO, not with the EU. It is Serbia, not Kosovo, that is seeking the SAA with NATO. No wonder the RS is in such trouble. Being led by this idiot can only end in disaster for the RS.

The man being in power in Republica Srpska has an aspiration to exert a political influence in Serbia ,which would attribute to a bad image in Serbia being corrected lately. By releasing statements in media and hard-line attitude as to EU resolutions concerning the Balkans, Dodik can aggravate Serbian access to EU. If RS MP became deputies in Serbian parliament, what benefits and advantages Serbia would gain. It would only be a great damage, literary a final nail in the coffin of Serbian plummeted economy . The PM would legally evade taxes, they would have wages, try to overturn some decisions, have denouncing Serbian international relations. Besides, Dodik’s policy will result in having EU sanction imposed to Republika Srpska. So Dodik ,stay away from Serbian state of affairs, hit the road ,Mi’lorade!

Descendents of those who have a connection to these parts back 2 generations can already claim Serbian citizenship, so kind of a non-story.

Amazing that the head of province in the region would go on and on about something without knowing the most basic facts about that thing.
