Analyst and former ambassador in France Predrag Simić says that when it comes to the Ukraine crisis, "Serbia has for now avoided serious consequences."

@rote, "Little Russia" is music to my ears as well. Family my argue at times but they always have each other's back where the west is a union of convenience as Serbia has experienced in a bad way. Short memory at best and certainly no thanks for the blood shed for the same cause twice.

For the U.S., it is important that Russia is held at a distance from Europe, and to, at the same time, maintain its own presence there, said Simić.
It’s a very bit primitive understanding of the events. The two great powers mean to undermine one another for long if not forever. US will not give us another chance and this time they are to make the control shot into the head ( same with Serbia). US mean to quit with Russia forever while what Simic says is just a tactical maneuver to keep up the pre-bankrupt US economy. Fight for Europe is strategic only as a tool to finish with each other. With false GDP calculating methods to show 8-9 trillion as 14-15 and thus have AA + level the US cannot go long so they need this fat ass EU market.
Meanwhile Serbia is making a tactical mistake. If I were you I would say that since now on Serbia will never take positions over any issue that enjoys no consensus inside EU. After that you will sleep good and live long as Russia can always influence that consensus to appear or not. Because everybody loves cash money and no one loves our troops. Also EU is not that vital for Serbia and freedom that you may have in Russian partnership may prove to be sweeter than the EU GMO carrot. Besides LITTLE RUSSIAN also sounds good :

"If Serbia joined the countries that have implemented sanctions toward Russia it would be very cold in Serbia this coming winter,"
Even if Serbia did not join-in with sanctions it will still be very cold this winter as all gas to Serbia will come via the Ukraine.
