They say hens cackle loudest when there is nothing vital in the eggs they have laid.

True, we all remember the loudest cackles were those from Vuk "over my dead body" Jeremic during the times of the ICJ opinion and while he was trying to "prevent" recognitions. No day passed without some account of his adventures here on B92 :). And then came the days of the UNGA. And then came the stories about his mandate in Belgrade's parliament.

It is soooo predictable ... whenever Jeremic is mentioned on B92, you can bet the boys, Willi and little Roberto, show up with their petty name calling and chronic negativity. They cackle like two old hens.

Jeremic is remembered as one of the worst Presidents of the UN General Assembly in history and in his one-sidedness proofed to the world that he is unfit for any international job in the political arena. The entire West is against him, and so he will have no chance whatsoever. Keep on dreaming Vuc.....

God forbid, that chetnik hack gains another position of such visibility. He's is among the very worst to come out of ex-YUgoslavia, and that's saying a lot!

Wow, you mean Chetnik Jeremic might be thinking about leading the UN itself?

"Vuk Jeremic was expelled from his own party when he refused to give up his job as foreign minister of Serbia while he, simultaneously, held the title of president of the General Assembly of the UN, an honorary position which no one else wanted. Our overly ambitious, but incompetent Vuk shows no lack of enthusiasm for self promotion. I, personally, would love to see Jeremic get the top job at the UN so he could, by his usual bungling, bring this sham organization to its knees"

Jeremic was not simultaneously Serbia's foreign minister while having the UN job, he resigned months before he went to New York. As for the UN being a "sham organization" why are you so desperate to be a member? Or is it because the UN is one organisation the west can't totally dominate and is not immune from being exposed by?

With the fact that the DS is not part of the ruling coalition it is highly unlikely that he would secure a nomination from them. I am sure there are a couple of others that would like a chance at the top job, Dacic, Vucic, and Nikolic for starters.

As long as the situation in Kosovo remains a subject before the UNSC which requires regular reports from the UNSG, there is no way that someone from Serbia can be elected into that position. It is doubtful Serbia will come up with a solution and have it removed from the UNSC agenda before voting.
It is also impossible to be able to say who would support Jeremic or other Serbian candidate without know who and where the other candidates come from.
Yet it is certain that he would be opposed by those countries that strongly support an independent Kosovo, with 3 of those being veto wielding countries.
Also, Jeremic has shown he cannot separate himself from Serbia and become an unbiased leader of the world. He did that when he called the debate on the ICTY immediately after it found the Croatian generals not guilty.
Of course there is still time to secure a nomination for the following term should Serbia end the conflicts with Kosovo.

Jeremić is Serbia's former foreign minister who previously served as president of the United Nations General Assembly. The report speculates that he is now a candidate for the next UN secretary-general.

Dačić specified that he spoke with Jeremić about his plans, but that no decision was made regarding the UN bid, "and it is not planned to make it now."

The paper then quoted a foreign diplomat who said that Jeremić's candidature would be vetoed by western Security Council members - the U.S., Britain, and France.

No country, especially Serbia, would consider little Vuk for the position of Secretary-General of the UN. Jeremic has embarrassed Serbia enough to not even be considered for dog catcher of Serbia. Remember, Vuk Jeremic was expelled from his own party when he refused to give up his job as foreign minister of Serbia while he, simultaneously, held the title of president of the General Assembly of the UN, an honorary position which no one else wanted. Our overly ambitious, but incompetent Vuk shows no lack of enthusiasm for self promotion.
