Maybe you should familiarize yourself with that subject a bit better.
Hamas is using civilians as shields. They hide weapond and attack from within civilian buildings which then become legitimate targets.
Nobody wants to target civilians and Israel does not but they do target military objectives which Hamas has put right smack in the middle of civilians.

Face the reality Joachim, Israel is NOT targeting the civilians. They are targeting Hamas but if Hamas is committing a war crime by using their own people as human shields what do you think Israel should do? Ignore being shelled? They have to target the area where the offencive is coming from.

Do you really expect Israel to use ground forces and accept heavy casualties in order to minimise civilian losses? Why should they when Hamas doesn't care? If I place my child in the middle of the road to play and it gets run over, whose fault is it? It is up to Hamas to protect ther own people. Not only are they not protecting them, they are using them as shields which is a war crime.

Time and time again they may target Hamas, but time and time again they are killing civilians. How many times do you go through this cycle before you realise that you are actually targeting civilians? I suppose that Israel want civilian deaths no more than NATO did 1999. It's either wrong to carry out such acts without regard for civilian deaths (which I believe), or it isn't. You either feel disgust (which I do), or you don't. Either you can't support it (I can't), or you can. What about you?

I know very well that war is a dirty business and that Hamas has been placing their rocket launchers in the vicinity (even on top of) of schools and hospitals, but this doesn't absolve Israel of the blame of civilian losses. The Israelis are more than capable militarily to clear Hamas fighters out of civilian areas with ground forces and with minimal losses (their own military as well as Palestinian civilians) without surface-to-ground and air-to-ground missile strikes, which deliver enough tonnage to destroy an entire city block and obviously kills hundreds of civilians in the process.
