I have traveled almost all the Eastern block.
Budapest and Praga are the first in my list.
Belgrade is OK,but still behind Budapest and Praga, while Skopje is the last in my list.
This i my opinion.
Anyway, serbs should be proud for their capital.

I have to agree with Ian, I've been around the block but Belgrade is the Best city I have ever been... and this is simply down to the people.... they have hearts of gold
But I will not get too carried away,,, it is still the dirtiest places in Europe... with filth piled high in many of the streets and a lack of civil duty that you find no where else.

I'm currently in Belgrade at the moment and this morning I saw loads of Romanian and Serbian flags outside a huge Governmental Building (I've forgotten it's name but it is the same building where Tito famously used to host international leaders and get them to plant trees as an act of peace), so I assumed either Romanian's President or PM was on an offical visit today.

I just want to say that Belgrade is an amazing city and it's a shame I'm leaving tonight as I head east towards the Iron Gates, I wish I had more time here as there is so much to see and do. It is an awesome historical city and brilliant party town too!
