if Putin now sticks to his pro-western liberasts in the government he will have big and long lasting problems with the rest of the Russians.

His popularity is falling since June and he will have to do something with it. Russian people refuse to be reasonable when it comes to issues of defense and dignity. They don’t care sanctions when Russians are killed every day. During Yalta Conference in 1945 Churchill expressed his admiration of how the Russians fight. Stalin responded : “ Do you think they fight for you and me ? No they are fighting for their Mother Russia”. This mentality has not disappeared and Putin will have deal with it. Russian people are much closer to Kremlin than the Oval Office.

Rote,

I'm surprised that you are losing faith so quickly in little Vlad. It seems your diapers are leaking and we can hear your knees knocking. Panic is setting in. Putin has no game plan for dealing with the slaughter of Russians by Russians in Ukraine. Which Russians will he support? Your little emperor has no clothes. Be prepared for some very difficult times for Russia. As before, Russia is crumbling from within.

"Reader “you should probably consider that” I support everything Putin is doing. For the time being I fear he has missed the chance to replace the bandits in Kiev at the cost of small blood. Once Hitler said that after 1936 one could replace them only at the cost of big blood. Yesterday Gazprom’s NTV started a new line as if nobody from the very beginning had promised to send troops to Ukraine. If so why wasn’t it said so directly 3 months ago ? if Putin now sticks to his pro-western liberasts in the government he will have big and long lasting problems with the rest of the Russians."
(rote, 9 July 2014 09:31)

Rote, I do not think Putin is "sticking to his pro-western liberasts". Being the master chess player and great diplomacist that he is, he sacrificed the soldier (Eastern Ukraine) to save the Queen (Crimea), and these are all his moves, no liberasts can influence him (just my theory). As you say yourself: "I support everything Putin is doing", so there won't be any problems in Russia for him because of this, after all the poll is saying exactly that "the people don't want to fight", correct?

Finally, a friendly stylistic writing advice, if I may: if I were in you, I would not put the names of Putin and Hitler in the same paragraph when I write. You never know what connections people may make in their minds :).

Provided you prepared the questions properly you could get a positive outlook towards Hitler in an Israeli poll – it’s all a game where it would be very funny except people are dying. Russia cannot afford to let their people be trampled over as Moscow needs a buffer zone from NATO and if they only have Crimea then it does not work for Russia.
Russia is playing the “underdog’ role not because it’s scared of sanctions, but it’s a propaganda war that they need to stay on top just in case they have to go to war. Russia already has sympathy from a huge proportion of people in the EU and they want to keep it like that.
Sanctions will not hurt Russia as Asia has the money now not Washington or London. In fact Berlin is not keen on imposing any more sanctions.
Even the EU officials admit that Kiev sending troops to take over eastern Ukraine is a waste because agreement has to be reached with the Russian “rebels”.
PS those polls would turn very quickly in support of military intervention if Russia had to take action in Ukraine

Coming from Itar-Tass, which is the voice of the Russian government, this "poll" is very telling of the future of the current conflict in Ukraine.

Rote, you should probably consider that Putin started all this to push the lines of the conflict forward to only retreat later and keep Crimea. That is, they were meant to be sacrificed from the beginning to keep the Ukrainian side busy there and not have it focus its attention on Crimea. This way the Ukrainian government wins one battle and is happy, Putin gets to keep Crimea and is happy as well. This is just my theory at least.

What civil war or sympathy are you talking ? Who cares the west ? Are you drunk so early ?

Questioner

“Or what else do you mean with 'Russians in Ukraine'?”

Genetically there’s less difference between the Russians and the Ukrainians than between the Gegi and the Toski Albanians. But some of the Ukrainian citizens believe they are a different nation while others believe they are a part of the Russian World. This last part equally include ethnic Russians and ethnic Ukrainians I think 50/50 in Donbass Region. These people hate the Nazi and if you like to know all SS commanders like Shuhevich , Melnikov or Bendera were killed by someone from Donbass. This is why the two sides hate each other so much. But the tragedy is that the Nazi are genetic Russians as well. They lived apart from the Russian world for 500 years and came under Polish or Austrian influence and neither are they Orthodox Christians. Finally Russians in Ukraine like elsewhere are those who feel Russian regardless of the origin. It’s a century dream of the west to make Russians kill each other to tribute to DRANG HACH OSTEN.

According to other polls in May 30% of Russians were ready to sent troops to Donbass while in June it was 40% already. Most important is the motivation of the people. Here greater part of Russians believe that sending troops is exactly what the USA would like us to do. I personally have no idea what is better but witnessing the continuous massacre when Russians kill each other because some of them say ПИВО and the others say ПЫВО is breaking my heart.

On one hand I can understand Putin who tries to escape greater civil war inside the Russian World. Evidently he is not going to waste bullets to kill a deadly ill Ukraine. But on the other such it means death to thousands of the innocent. I do not think Ukraine will survive through this winter. But how many people the gang will take with them when the agony starts ? It’s like Hitler in the sieged Berlin when every extra day of his life cost the Germans 2-3 divisions.

Hitlerugends in Kiev are nothing better besides they have USA to fly away like many Nazi did after 1945. This is how 3 million of Galitsians appeared in Canada and the USA after WW2. Bendera’s organization has never stopped to exist and in 1945 they just changed the master. This April Yarosh opened his headquarters in Dnepropetrovsk and congratulated his fellows as FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY BENDERA’S ARMY HAS CROSSED DNIEPER !
